Excellent stay. Will rent again.
Thank you for a wonderful stay. Hot tub was already warm upon arrival and the pool was clean and the temp was like bathwater. Very clean inside as well.
Would recommend adding small bars of bath soap as an added convenience.
Other than that our stay was perfect!
Thank you again.

A+++ Vacation Home—We Didn’t Want to Leave!
My husband and I had the best time staying at Tropic Tiki Villa! We were so happy to escape the cold, snowy winter in the Midwest for a short get-away and unplug from work responsibilities. This property was the perfect place to stay.
Our flight arrived several hours before check-in time, but Jack and Annika were very accommodating and told us we could drop our bags at the house while it was being cleaned and make ourselves at home. We headed to lunch at Bone Fish Grill, which is within walking distance, and by the time we got back, the house was ready for our vacation!
The property is lovely, spacious, extremely clean and well maintained. Although the house was built in the 1960’s, it has been wonderfully updated with many nice finishes. The kitchen was well-equipped with all the appliances, cookware and utensils we needed to cook dinner at “home,” and there is an outdoor gas grill we used every night. The beds are very comfortable and the living room is large and has a big sectional for hanging out to watch movies or taking afternoon naps.
We spent a lot of time outside by the pool during the day and in the hot tub in the evening because the weather was so nice. There is a lot of outdoor seating on the patio, and the Tiki hut is large and provided ample shade when we wanted to take a break from the sun. There is also a small table and chairs on the waterway dock that we used to have a romantic dinner overlooking the water one night.
The surrounding neighborhood is quiet and very peaceful. There are many restaurants within walking distance, or a short Uber ride away, a large Publix supermarket nearby, as well as a convenience store that is, seriously, a 2-minute walk up the street. One day we took an Uber to Fish Peddler East—a fresh fish market—and got the best-ever fresh fish and shrimp to grill for dinner.
So, to sum up our experience at Tropic Tiki Villa: The property was spacious, updated, extremely clean, and charming; Jack and Annika were a pleasure to work with; AND, we didn’t want to leave…but we will be back for our next Florida get-away!

Good, not great
The place was pretty nice, spacious with most everything one would need. The biggest issue was no hot water for 2 days. They did get someone to look at it right away who said it was fixed but it wasn't. Also, the quite nice looking outside grill is actually terrible in that it didn't get very hot so was essentially impossible to cook on it...we had to move everything inside. There was gas, it was open wide and both burners lit and on full...flames just not strong enough.
Rooms were comfortable, bright and clean. Location convenient.
Thank you for taking your time to send us our comments. We apologize for your issue with hot water. The owner has been informed of the problem with the outside grill, and we will have this corrected or replaced.
This vacation home is very popular and comfortable with a great location and we are happy to hear that you enjoyed the stay.
We also hope we are able to host you again on your next South Florida vacation. We have many waterfront vacation homes for you to try.
It was great.
Over all all went fine, we had a party of 12 adults. Plenty of space, you can part two to three cars. The location was very good, close to many shops. Rooms were clean, It was pretty good as it is on the picture.
Thank You for your comments. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. You are welcome back on your next Florida vacation. We offer many different villas, all nice an comfortable and most are waterfront. Welcome Back!
Please only check the hot water in one of the bathrooms, it was not working
Thank You for your note. We appreciate all feedback. The information has been forwarded to our maintenance staff and property owner, and will be taken care off. We hope to see you in one of our nice vacation rentals home on your next Florida vacation.
Not what the pictures show: Renter beware!! Owner Not to be trusted!
Let’s start with the positives – there was hot water
Now let’s review the negatives – and btw, we were at the place on April 1, but this review is no joke
First impressions are everything right? Well, when we pulled into the property we were greeted by a discarded couch on the driveway entrance. A shocking way to get started.
Here’s a list of the things that I communicated to the owner of the house within the first 12 hours of our 3 day stay. Without options we left a day early.
Ants in the kitchen
Dirty and stained cushions on all outside chairs
Missing burner and burner covers in grill
Grill was filthy – forcing us to buy a portable one
Patio was filthy – in need of power wash
Thatch Tikii bar enclosure needed repair
Dull kitchen knives - couldn't cut a lemon
Scratched-up, old kitchen plates
A kitchen table with a hole where a Lazy Susan should have been – though they tried to cover it up with a flower pot
Missing or broken spot lights in pool area
Shower curtain in one bathroom was moldy and was about 2 inches too short letting water run out
Step up to shower was more than 8 inches high
No bath mats
No fitted sheets on one of the beds
TV in one bedroom did not work
Weak AC unit
Icemaker didn’t work
After speaking with the owner and sending over the above list, he agreed to reimburse $500 and had me confirm via text. We now realize this was a game to keep us in the house so we couldn't demand a full refund. No refund/credit was ever received.
A maintenance guy came to look and take pictures. He then had his wife drop off some new plates, a shower curtain, throw pillows (?!) and utensils. She literally dropped them off outside the front door – didn’t come in the house to offer to replace any items. Just dropped off the boxes and ran.
A few hours later we were greeted by another "maintenance" guy who pretended to fix the grill. When I noticed that he actually didn’t do anything and then questioned him about it, he barged out and started using foul language directed at me and my family. About an hour later, after the "maintenance" guy got hold of the owner who was in the area, the owner came over to tell me I disrespected "his" guy. He went on to say that based on the cars in the driveway (a Lexus and an Audi) that this wasn’t the right rental for us. He suggested I call him the next time I was in Pompano to look him up so that he could put me in something more in line with people who own Lexus and an Audi. Stay clear of this guy!
Pompano Beach, just north of Fort Lauderdale boasts some of the most beautiful beaches. It is named after a species of inshore tropical game fish, but is often called "the Heart of the Gold Coast." The city is known for its excellent boating and fishing, accentuated by an offshore living coral reef accessible to scuba divers and snorkelers. Anglers and families flock to the 1,000-foot-long municipal fishing pier, beachside playgrounds, grills and picnic tables. North, along the shore, the 1900s Hillsboro Lighthouse guards the Hillsboro Inlet, an entrance to the Intracoastal Waterway. For divers Pompano Beach is the “wreck capital” of Florida with 17 wrecks. Golfers can enjoy Greg Norman Signature Pines Course along with adjacent Palm Course. There are also three courses at Palm Aire Country Club. Dining in Pompano Beach is always a culinary adventure ranging from delightful bistros to fine dining. Try your luck at Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park with 6 onsite restaurants. Visitors at Pompano Beach can experience all the action of South Florida in a small-town atmosphere.
Lauderdale by the Sea – Enjoy the charm of a Small Florida Beach Town! The town stretches from the Atlantic Oceanwest to the famous Intracoastal Waterway. Everything is conveniently located in this charming seaside village. You find locally owned shops with artisan jewelry, beach clothing and gift items, as well as bistro-style eateries, icecream shops, bakeries and pubs. The common areas have been designed with relaxing in mind: public plazas where you sit in Adirondack chairs and chat with your friends. The Town's shoreline is a mecca for scuba divers with coral reefs teeming with marine life less than 100yards off the beach. It’s easy to snorkel or dive right from our sandy beach -and of course fishing from the historic pier over the ocean, the most iconic place to visit. The Anglins Pier is an important part of the city. It is open24/7 for fishing and featuring a café with occasional live music. A car is not needed in Lauderdale by the Sea. You can bike or use the free “around Town”Pelican Hopper bus, and the Sun Trolley, which can take you to Fort Lauderdale beach, popular shopping spots, and connect you with other things to do in Fort Lauderdale and nearby. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, old-school seaside charm draws families to the low-key beach alternative to Fort Lauderdale. This is still a place where flip-flops are acceptable, if not encouraged.
