There is no finer place to vacation then Rincon, PR. From surfing and snorkeling to hiking and golfing, Rincon offers it all. Along with the multitude of daytime activities, Rincon also has an active nightlife, with many oceanfront bars, and restaurants serving freshly caught seafood. If dining in is your preference, the close proximity of a local fish markets (just a walk along the beach away) and grocery store (within two miles) allow for you to create your own oceanfront dining experience on your private patio.
With every air-conditioned bedroom offering its own private bathroom and balcony, this house is perfect for couples to have a romantic getaway or for family retreats with the children. Wake to the sunrise from over the mountains in the east, and finish the day watching the fiery sunset extinguish into the blue Caribbean Sea. While here you will not want to miss a sunset, and almost every room provides a view of it. However, our preferred way of watching is on a beach chair with a drink in our hands and our toes in the sand.
This private luxury Rincon vacation rental is an elegant and comfortable home directly on Corcega Beach! Nothing beats falling asleep to the soothing sound of gentle waves, and in our comfortable beds you will sleep soundly.
Owners Kathy and Bud Smallwood and Jane and Keith Bolles reside in Connecticut and have been enjoying Rincon for over 20 years. Kathy and Bud are in the building business and built the house themselves. Importing stone from around the world to create this luxury beachfront home. Jane and Keith are in the home furnishings business and have helped to furnish and decorate the 2 villas.
Kathy Smallwood or Keith Bolles purchased this villa in 2004
Right on the beach.
After years of booking vacation homes online (including some mistakes and bad choices) I have become very adept at judging websites and their representations, photos, and narratives. Pelican Pass was a standout during my search and ultimately proved to be the perfect place for my wife and our 2 friends to spend a long weekend celebrating my 50th birthday. The house matched the online photos and even exceeded the charm, comfort, and ambience that we anticipated before arriving. The process of booking, arriving, and departing was simple and smooth, and the Owner was always responsive to any questions we had. We hope to be back, but this time with our kids......so we can share the experience with them!
Found everything my family and I needed to enjoy a short yet relaxing vacation. Rooms are spacious and well laid out, everyone had their own bathroom which was a plus. Played a game of "Trouble" till the wee hours and laughed all night.
Can't say enough of how good it felt to be in this home away from home.
My compliments to the owners for sharing this gem.
We stayed Feb 22-27th as a group of 8. My wife found this last year online and we got lucky! We had so much fun the first year that we re-booked almost immediately when we retuned.
We all loved the fact that we were right on the beach, and what a beautiful beach it is. When we did eat in, we found everything we needed in the kitchen to make a very nice meal. The bedrooms are very nice, and it is hard to complain about much when you hear the waves crashing as your going to sleep. The villa is in great shape and even though we have had offers to stay at other places, we see no reason to go anywhere else.
One of the best parts of this trip is all the different excursions we find ourselves going on. Whether it is to La Cambia for dinner or to Tamboo for body surfing and a cocktail. But it always nice to come back to villa 1 and just relax on the beach.
We all hope to return to Rincon on a yearly basis because it is a very special place to all of us. Where we stay and how happy we are with the villa is definitely one of the many reasons we will be coming back.
Thank you for allowing us to stay in such a wonderful place.
Really a great property. Everything was clean and well organized. Check in/check out were a breeze. Most importantly, the beach was absolutely gorgeous. Negatives are awful water pressure, connected to another villa (although it still felt private), and the beach is actually pretty shallow (we lounged in the back yard and jumped in the ocean when it got too hot). Regardless, it was absolutely amazing and I would definitely return.
Upon landing in San Juan, our family of five (3 kids; ages 19, 15 and 11) hopped into our sweet Wrangler Jeep and headed west to Rincon. The drive over was uneventful and only took about 2.5 hours. Directions to the villa were spot on...and we arrived about an hour after sunset. Upon getting into the villa and opening some doors and windows, the beautiful sound of the waves all night helped us sleep soundly.
The photos on the website can't even help to show how big this house is! We fell in love immediately with the patio and hung out there most days just listening to music and playing board games under the sun. The kids had a great time finding beach glass, snorkeling and just enjoying the perfect weather in Rincon (85 degrees and sunny every day we were there). The BBQ was brand new and we took advantage of the supermarket just down the road. Every day we grilled out!
Rincon is a sleepy little surf town. We mostly stayed in for dinner, but did go out one night for an excellent meal at Shipwreck Bar and Grill. We also explored one day out to the lighthouse to watch the surfers...and had an awesome dinner at Mi Familias Pizzeria. It was a lot of fun just driving around and exploring Puerto Rico! The vistas are beautiful and the island so unspoiled.
We loved the privacy of our beach. The pelicans diving for fish. The sun melting into the Carribbean every night at sunset. The owners were easy to work with and answered all of our questions. Our property manager Joe was great and very helpful each time we had a property question.
Wi-Fi worked well. Cell service worked well. 40" flat screen television was great to watch all the football games.
My family and I thought this was a great location and met all of our expectations. Cheers and I hope you enjoy it also!
This property is far more breathtaking than the pictures let on. We spent our first family vacation here (six of us) and it was the most relaxing 9 days we've ever had. Upon walking into the house we noticed that it was far more spacious than it appeared in the pictures, and coming from a small city apartment we all at each other and smiled. Beautifully decorated with a lived-in, Caribbean feel. Downstairs, the roomy kitchen was abundantly stocked with cookware and dinnerware. Our bedrooms (each with their own bathroom) were gorgeous and clean, with the beige room having the best unobstructed view of the sea. The best thing about this property, however, were the kitchen patio doors opening up to your own private paradise. The beach, which is a step off of the patio, is spectacular! Many mornings began with a cup of café followed by a swim, sea glass hunting, watching crabs and fish, and hoping the sea turtles would come out of their protected habitat. In short, it was heaven. We can't wait to come back!
Side note: The owner of the property, Kathy, was a pleasure to work with. She responded quickly to all inquiries and provided detailed instructions whenever possible. Her caretaker, Joe, was at the house within a half hour of calling him (our grill ran out of propane). Exceptional service.
This was a family vacation with my husband, 4 year old daughter, 7 year old son, and my husband's parents who came in from England. We started in San Juan and went to the Castle San Cristobal and old town. By the time we were done, we were yearning for rest and tropical relaxation away from the busy city. When we arrived at this house, all of our hopes were realized.
The house is on a dead end street, so it's fairly secluded. The property is fenced and gated on all sides and has ample parking once you open the property gate. The gardens around the house are lushly landscaped and immaculate (and there is an atrium in the middle of the house with a palm tree which allows a huge amount of natural light).
There are two sitting areas, one living room and one sunken family room with a TV. This allowed us to have some separate time and gave the kids their own space.
The kitchen is roomy with a nice island and there are four seating areas for eating - off the kitchen by the door to the patio, in the dining area by another door to the patio, and two places out on the patio. Two of those fit all of us to dine, two served as great places to sit for tea or a snack. The kitchen was fully stocked and we lacked for nothing - amazing since most meals were done in the house that week.
The spacious rooms were all wonderful with amazingly effective A/C units (we were there in July, it was hot enough that it would have been harder to sleep without them). All had roomy, clean balconies and chairs, two of the rooms had amazing ocean/beach views, all had their own bathroom...heaven for separation! Once doors were closed, we did not disturb each other.
But the beach is the key. The patio is huge with lots of lawn chairs, and you open the back gate and take 6 steps to the water. Most of the time there were small waves that didn't cause safety problems for the kids but they loved to ride them. We spent HOURS every day in the water, surrounded by tropical paradise (fine sand, palm trees, seashells, sea urchins on the reef a short swim out) and we felt pretty isolated. Bliss!
