Why Josephine Drew chose Astoria
This is a family home where our 92 year old mom spent the last 15 years living.

Problem with toilet
The home is humble but there was a problem with the toilet. Turns out there was a comb stuck in there which we retrieved saving the owner a huge plumbing bill since the toilet was not flushing properly when we arrived. There was a wet towel behind the toilet which leads me to believe the cleaning people knew something wasn't right. There were no paper towels left on the roller. For the cleaning fee charged, I don't feel like I received any benefit of this. The location is fine, but the way we found it was not OK.
Quiet and close to everything
This sweet little house was just what I was hoping for and full of wonderful joys.
The neighborhood is walkable, bike riding, trail walking all just outside. Woodsy trail hikes are very close by. The Astoria Community Center welcomed me to fitness classes at a price I couldn't believe- $6 for a drop in.
The kitchen of the house was my cooking delight. There are REAL knives and CAST IRON skillets! Wow. I found an Oster blender and made smoothies every day.
The front room was where I spent most of my time, sitting in the chair in the front window, overlooking the river, reading, playing guitar. We also hung out in the front yard during the sunny spells. The backyard was private, green and relaxing.
The bedrooms are beautifully colored, the beds and bedding very comfortable.
The owner seemed to bend over backward making adjustments we requested for our reservation in advance. She was extremely kind with my requests. The only snafu was arriving with out the lockbox code, but VRBO called her, she called me and we were in the house about 20 minutes later.
Overall, I very much hope to stay here again the next time my husband goes fishing out of Astoria! It was the perfect, wished for place for me.
Perfect for the 3 of us. Great new washer in basement. Hope to book it on our next trip to Astoria.
Lovely view of the river
This is a nice place to stay in Astoria! The view of the river is very nice, and the street is quiet. There are many deer who drop by occasionally. We enjoyed our stay!
This house is very cozy and has character my family really enjoyed our stay here.
