About The Owner

We are a Minnesota family of 5 who enjoy the many things the MN seasons have to offer. A nurse and a truck driver with three kids in sports and school activities.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 1996

Why The Owner chose Minnesota

I spent a lot of time on this lake with my grandparents who lived across the street from this cabin. My parents live on the lake just down the street. It is a great location, and right by the water. We have many happy memories of waterskiing, jet skiing, fishing, suntanning, playing volleyball and having fun with family and friends. The afternoon and evening sun on the deck make the summer days long and memorable. It is a great getaway, yet close to so much in nearby areas, like Gull Lake, Brainerd, and Little Falls, so there is much to do. Horsebackriding and gulf are nearby. You can walk to one of the restaurants - a sportsbar, and restaurant. There is a second restaurant at the East end of the lake. The lake is beautiful, with islands and bays. Boat traffic is not an issue, like it can be in some parts of MN.

Cabin has a full kitchen, satellite TV, 2 bedrooms, a pull out coach in the 3 season porch, and a futon. It is truly a great summer getaway.

Exceptional property!

  • 5 of 5

Our family stayed for a week. The accommodations were exceptional. The beds were very comfortable and we found we had every thing we needed, plenty of room. I was surprised how large the lot was. We enjoyed bonfires, watching the sunsets and playing bocce ball. The kids caught so many fish off the dock at dusk. My husband was impressed with the variety of fish and lake itself. My favorite were dinners on the deck and swimming. There were few weeds a sand bottom and clear water.

It was quiet during the week. Nobody was on the lake just us. The views in this cabin are spectacular and the loons were always around. Can't wait to return. It's an absolute gem very peaceful. The boat lift worked fine for us when it rained.

Great trip for Dad and his boys

  • 5 of 5

Was a perfect spot for my 4 and 6 year old boys and I. Great fishing off the dock for everyone. Caught pan fish as well as a couple northern and bass.

Cabin was clean and amenities sufficient to allow a relaxing time. Quiet area, heard loons every morning and the cabin was nice and cool at night. Could not have asked for anything better. We plan on coming again next year!

We'll come back next year!

  • 5 of 5

It's hard to find a cabin 6' from the water in MN ... regulations now require more like 30'. But this one is right by the water. Everything clean and in good shape and comfortable. Nice fire pit right by the water, grill, place to clean fish, easy to get to. Deep water right off the dock allows for great fishing without a boat, though there is a boat lift if you have a boat. We caught sunnies, bluegill, bass and Northern Pike right off the dock. We saw Eagles every day, hawks, Northern Flicker, Blue Jay and more birds. Two restaurants on the lake are of good quality. No resorts on the lake which makes for quieter, more peaceful traffic both on roads and lake. Close to state parks, Brainerd, hiking, nature and anything you need, but not so close to Brainerd that it's over-populated ... you are definitely away from any large towns. Owners are fantastic to work with! It looks like we may finally be starting a yearly tradition. I said to my sons ... "don't you want to go different places" and they are pretty set on coming back here ... which is just fine with me.

Great place stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a great experience and enjoyed the location of the cabin--right next to the water. We spent many summers on Lake Alex when we owned a cabin on the lake so staying here reminded us of those enjoyable summers. We look forward to renting it again next summer.

Hidden gem!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! Way more then we ever expected. The 4 steps to the water was great! This was a fun way to spend our fishing opener! We usually camp and I am glad we did not this year as the temps were cool and the rain did not help! We had 4 guys and a spouse. Never felt crowded. Sitting on the deck right on the water was amazing. We had so much fun and the fishing was good too (after the helpful neighbor tipped us off to a couple hot spots). This is a good place for a guys/gals weekend or for a family to come up and jump off the dock. Thank you very much for sharing your lovely place and we all enjoyed our stay!

Fishing 2013

  • 5 of 5

This is a great cabin for relaxing at the lake. We were a fishing party of 5 and this is a great set up. We ate our dinner of fresh fish every night at the picnic table on the deck 6' from the lake, it was heavenly.
