It was great being right on the lake. Kitchen was first class. My large family enjoyed extended dinning room table.

Great Stay. Definitely recommend.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay (August 2015). Yes a bit behind on reviewing but still thought it was worth while to do it. The rental process was easy and Thomas, the owner, was also very easy to work with. This house is just comfortable to be at. It’s clean, spacious and has everything you will need for your stay. The kitchen is really well stocked with pots/pans and dishes, and there are tons of puzzles, books & board games for rainy days. It’s conveniently located right off the highway with amenities close by. If you have kids, there is a wonderful children’s museum (Montshire Science Museum) a few towns south, maybe 20 minutes away. Santa’s Village is also about an hour to the North. We also went to the Fairlee Drive-In, which the kids thought was cool! Although there was plenty to do in and around the area, let’s not forget the beautiful lake upon which the house sits and all that it has to offer. The lake is fairly quiet during the week and on weekends a bit busier but still relatively quiet. We enjoyed relaxing on the large outdoor deck but spent a lot of time waterside swimming, canoeing, kayaking and fishing. We could see tons of fish (small ones) while looking into the water from the dock but didn’t catch anything. It was fun anyway. Thanks for a great stay, we will be back!

We had a great stay! Tom left a wonderful welcome message on the counter and that started off a great weekend. The house is clean, comfortable and stocked with all the essentials you need for a wonderful stay at the lake. Thank you so much again for letting us stay at your house!

Spectacular, setting & accommodations were perfect

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we got there and viewed the dock on the lake from the screened in porch and wrap around deck, we knew we were in for a treat. The house was more then what we had expected. Not only was the living area immaculate and modern, our host had everything that would be needed to make our stay pleasant. Anything that we forgot to bring Thosmas had it covered, from the kitchen utensils to the games & puzzles & books in the porch there was enough to keep everybody occupied. The bedrooms were more then accommodating. More then enough room for all our family members & guest to be very comfortable. From kayaking & canoeing on the lake to the late nights with a fire in the chiminea on the dock, our family was well occupied. Our guest and children are still asking when we can plan our next stay there. I would recommend this house to all my family & friends and in fact have done so on many occasions. Getting there was a breeze and the surrounding area has many attractions and little towns to visit. The nearby gorge is a view well worth seeing. Looking forward to making many more trips to Fairlee VT.

Best family vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have been looking for a vacation spot for several years where we can come together with our three children, their spouses and our three grandchildren at the same time. And I think we found it. The moment we walked into the cottage, we knew we found the place. It was very welcoming and comfortable. It had everything we were looking for... on the water, private dock, a quiet setting, plenty of accommodations and everything we needed to prepare meals for a big family. The wrap around deck was perfect from which to enjoy an early morning coffee or late evening beverage while listening to call of the loons. In addition to loons, we saw bald eagles and great blue herons.

As for activities, we spent most of the time on the water, which was clear and warm. We did it all... fishing (lots of fishing), kayaking and canoeing. We rented a boat for tubing, water skiing and wakeboarding as well. The one day it rained, we played board games and did puzzles. There is a very good selection of both.

Finally, I can't say enough about the owner, Thomas. He was very accommodating and a pleasure to rent from.

Everything combined made the week one of the best family vacations we've ever had. My family and I look forward to returning year after year.
