We were married in 2007 and spent our honeymoon in St Lucia. We enjoy traveling, camping in our RV, walking and shopping at antique shops. We have 1 dogs, Chuy and chickens which we raised from young chicks, we enjoy the fresh eggs. Shawn and I enjoy cooking together for friends and family. We also work on crafty fun projects together like making Peace Signs and Hearts from wine barrels.
We are located within 4 miles of some of the best wineries, tasting rooms and dining. We are walking distance from the township of Santa Ynez which has some of the best restaurants, coffee shop, wine tasting and history. The Chumash Casino is also within walking distance from our home.
We never get tired of the sunset and views from our outside patio area. The weather is so nice here in the valley which allows us to spend lots of time outside. The gardens on the property are beautiful all year round. We love our home.
Tamera and Shawn are gracious, generous hosts who go out of their way to make you feel at home. It is an easy walk to town, which had several restaurants that were fabulous! The place was immaculate!
Very friendly owner in the process of renovating this rental. Owner came down to greet me and show me around when I arrived. Fresh bread, eggs, brownies and a bottle of wine were provided. Rental is the lower level of a home. Parking on the street. No windows in the bedrooms which I actually liked. Overhead fans are provided for air flow. Overall accommodations were spacious and comfortable. Full kitchen very well stocked for cooking for a few people. No dishwasher. Bathroom is very small but worked for us. Only issue was noise from above. They had weekend guests who were talking and walking around well after midnight and very audible to us below. Owner told me that a new ceiling with soundproofing was going in the following week after our stay so hopefully this problem will be solved.
We were very disappointed with vacation unit. It was downstairs under the owner's house. You could hear them walking around. Apt. not up to code. No light switches. No heater. Had to be turned on upstairs in owner's unit. It didn't have a CD or DVR player. The bathroom was so small, you could barely turn around. The private yard was actually the chicken's yard. There was only a front door and one window and the slider to the backyard. It was stuffy. There was a big RV parked in the driveway, so we had to park on the street. They had an overhead camper rented out next to the house, that they had rented. No vent over the stove, no dishwasher. The owner seemed very nice, but from the picture of the front it was deceiving. The property was clean. We had a great time in Santa Ynez, but wouldn't go back to this place. It just wasn't what it seemed.
We had a great time at Paradise Oaks. Tamera was so friendly and greeted us at our arrival. The wine, eggs, fresh bread and brownies that were left for us was a thoughtful touch and we really enjoyed them. We also appreciated the kitchen being stocked with spices, coffee and tea since we cooked our meals there. The location is perfect for a walk into town and is a very close drive to Solvang and lots of wineries. We stayed with my infant daughter, parents, and their dogs and there was plenty of room for everyone. We would stay here again.
This was a really fun weekend. Our hosts greeted us with fresh baked bread and brownies, eggs from the chickens in their yard and a bottle of local wine. The patio was a lovely place to sit and enjoy these treats.
The location was great. We could walk to town with its cute shops and restaurants. It was a short drive to the other valley towns and very close to Foxen Canyon with its many wineries. We will stay here again
We enjoyed the convenience of being so near the town of Santa Ynez. This home was centrally located to visit the Santa Ynez valley's wineries, breweries, and the beaches a short drive away. We were traveling with our 2 dogs, so we were very happy to have a backyard with a lawn, patio & a BBQ & seating area for us! Tamara & Shawn were very gracious & made sure we were comfortable with fresh eggs & bread!
