|Minimum Stay||1 - 3 nights|
Situated in an iconic Glasgow red sandstone building, West George Street Apartment offers the discerning guest stylish accommodation, combining the very best of traditional room sizes with modern design.
Both Queen Street and GLA Central Stations are within a 5 minute walk (the Glasgow Airport shuttle bus also stops at Queen Street station). For those travelling by car, the Motorway network is readily accessible.
Access to other parts of the city is easy: Buchanan St Subway is 100m away. For guests planning on seeing more of Scotland, with the mainline stations so close, Loch Lomond, Stirling, Edinburgh or the Ayrshire coast are less than 1 hour's travel.
The building is accessed via a security controlled front door and the apartment is located on the second floor, with elevator or stair access.
The apartment is entered via a spacious hallway and all of our rooms are extremely well proportioned, with double-height ceilings and tall windows. The lounge has a large sofa and two easy-chairs as well as a dining table + four chairs. Widescreen digital (cable) TV, DVD and HiFi system are available for your entertainment. Free Internet and WiFi access is available for guests.
The bedrooms are impressive and very tastefully decorated with furniture of the highest quality. Bedroom 1 has two twin-beds, Bedroom 2 a king-size bed. Both rooms have floor-to-ceiling feature French doors and external balconies.
The bright, contemporary kitchen is fully integrated, with top of the range appliances and all the accessories you could need for dining at home.
The modern bathroom with walk-in shower completes the accommodation.
There is limited (chargeable) on-street parking outside the building as well as several public car-parks very near-by.
Check-in is from 14.00 on the day of arrival; check-out is by 10.00. (With prior agreement and depending upon availability we will always try to be flexible re these times). We will meet you at the property to give you keys, show you around and offer any advice we can.
For me, the 2 big 'pull factors' for this property are (i) location - being where it is, everything Glasgow has to offer is quite literally on your doorstep and (ii) architecture - room size didn't seem to be a problem when our building was built (@ end of the 19th Century) ... our rooms are large.
A lovely apartment in the heart of the city. Lots of room for the three of us and very central for sightseeing, shopping, restaurants etc. Raymond was really helpful and a great host! The place was spotless and very well equipped. The only downside is the noise - having arrived from the Highlands we may have been particularly sensitive - but Glasgow is a party city! Having said that, by the second night we zoned out and slept well. Would definitely recommend.
The apartment in Glasgow is very spacious and comfortable and a pleasure to be in.
Raymond has set the apartment up well. There is a great lounge room with very comfortable sofa and chairs as well as a dining room table and a lovely view from each of the windows. The photos are exactly what you seen when you arrive.
The kitchen is very cook friendly with everything you need to cook a great meal. It also has a lovely street view which adds to the fun of cooking.
Bedrooms and bathrooms also great size and very comfortable. The whole apartment has a very warm and welcoming feel.
Raymond is wonderful. Answers emails very quickly and was there to meet us when we arrived. He gave us great tips on shopping and eating out. There is also a good book in the apartment that has lots of helpful information about what to do and what to find around the area.
Our only concern is the noise at night. The apartment is close to a nightclub and it can be noisy until the very early hours of the morning.
I would recommend this apartment because of Raymond's great professionalism and help, the high standard of the accommodation and the location.
Raymond is a charming host, met us and gave us a very comprehensive tour of the flat - nothing was too much trouble. We arrived late and complimentary fresh bread, milk and breakfast cereal were bought in ready.
The flat itself - much bigger than we'd expected - the rooms are very large but warm.
Beds comfortable - everything spotlessly clean.
Parking is easy on the street overnight - unusual for a city centre apartment - and Raymond has a great deal with a local car park that saved us over fifteen pounds per day on parking.
The flat is in the heart of Glasgow which makes it super handy for anything you want to do whilst in town. Because its in the centre it can be noisy at night but that's a small price to pay for the convenience of the location and overall set-up of the place.

Having lived in Britain for 30 years and never once given Glasgow a second thought in all that time, I have not come to regret that omission.
Glasgow is great and this rental apartment is fantastically centrally located that you don't need a car.
Or at least we didn't on our explorations. Having said that, our explorations took us to most of the restaurants on our block, an Italian, Japanese, French and a couple of cozy cafes serving the most delicious bacon breakfast sandwiches. In our week, we didn't get time to get to them all. If you want to walk further, say to Jamie's, then it's not far and easily within reach by foot.
The apartment does have a full kitchen and we reluctantly decided to eat in one night, but even 'at home' you're still surrounded by the most beautiful views, it's as if you're in a down town restaurant above the streets.
Exploring without a car was so relaxing, that when we went out of town to Edinburgh or Dumbarton, both Queen Street and Central railway stations are literally only 5 minutes walk, 3 blocks at most, away.
If you're legs get tired from walking, look out for taxi's with their orange light glowing, because they can be waved down in almost telepathic accuracy: it seemed like a taxi was always anticipating your waving arm and would appear almost immediately.
The apartment was easily located off West George Street. Access through a key-fob is easy and quick and saves messing around with locks. There's an elevator lobby but we were close enough to use the stairs most times. The apartment was spotlessly clean and very well apportioned, with two big bedrooms warmly decorated. There's full kitchen, living room with the corner location, giving fine views to West George Street and Renfield Street.
The owner was warm and friendly and gave great advice about what to see and where to go locally, such as the 'Wonder Cafe' across the street.
Now about the weather, to which nobody has control. We'd been living for 4 months in a heatwave at home, without rain and in a drought. Coming to Glasgow in late July, with cooler temperatures was a delightful change. So even the days that it rained could not dampen our spirits; to the extent that we happily took to the upper floor of the open air City Sightseeing Bus tour. If you dress appropriately, the weather is 'ne-bother'.
If we'd be lucky enough to go back to Glasgow, I hope that we could stay in this apartment again.
This apartment was perfect accommodation and amenities for 2 couples on a touring/golf vacation in Scotland. Excellent location to take in all that Glasgow has to offer - shopping, museums, restaurants, pubs, concert venues, plus close proximity to the 2 major train stations for day trips to Edinburgh, Stirling, Loch Lomond, Ayrshire. The building has lovely architecture with every modern convenience inside. We were met on our arrival with fresh breakfast supplies and no shortage of the basic necessities during our 6-day stay. Will definitely stay here again!
We LOVED staying here! The flat was spacious and in a lovely old building. It was right in middle of town and easy to get anywhere. Raymond was wonderful and went above and beyond, helping us find a good tour to Loch Lomand. I highly recommend staying here! You'll love it, too.
This apartment is right in the middle of Glasgow, about 200m from George Square, the heart of the city.
