What a wonderful vacation! The house is beautifully decorated but also feels laid back enough so we didn't feel bad walking around wet or sandy. I was there with my two kids (10 and 13) so that was important. We mostly relaxed by the pool after going into town the first day with the caretaker and his wife to buy groceries and some pool toys. He drove us and she picked out the food that we would need for the week. Having never been to Mexico my kids and I had a blast seeing the local market where we got fresh fish and fruits and vegetables (we also bought a hammock to bring home, some clothes and other knick knacks).

The caretaker also found us a great surf teacher in town who my kids took lessons from for two of the days we were there. The surf teacher was Rene at Central Surf. He and his EIGHT brothers (God bless his mother) have owned and operated their shop since the beginning of the surf surge in Puerto Escondido.

The cook made amazing fresh meals for us everyday so I didn't have to lift a finger. I was really free to enjoy our surroundings and relax. One afternoon when we were walking down the beach my kids and I found two sets of turtle tracks that led to two nests. Unfortunately the tide had washed most of the eggs around the beach but it was an amazing thing to see. People with kids who love to swim in the ocean should be warned though that the currents are risky on this beach. I didn't let my kids do anything other than body surf right at the shore. The owner of the house had warned me of this so we were prepared.

Oh and the wifi connection is great! So when we needed a little break from all the sun, sand and pool we would all go into our rooms or take separate couches in the living room and watch a little streaming tv. :)

I hope we will be able to make this trip again next year!

We could have not asked for a better location for my birthday celebration! It felt exclusive and wonderful. The day we arrived, I went to the market with the caretaker to buy fresh fish for the grill and ceviche. We picked fresh fruit for our breakfasts and from that day on the cook spoiled us with delicious meals. She took great care of my three year old by preparing meals in between, which included surprise french fries! That made our stay carefree, just having to decide between a hammock, the pool and the ocean, which we had to ourselves the entire time. The beach was a dream and truly felt like it was ours. On our last day I was surprised with a birthday cake and pinata which the caretaker helped to organize.

The house and location is a great escape and amazing place to relax and the warmth of the cook and caretaker made it so much more enjoyable.

This is a place that you will remember as a peace of paradise. The setting, the house design and the décor are impeccable, The staff is great and they can cook some really incredible meals; a really splendid fish dinner, a delicious fish soup, a truly great ceviche, wonderful breakfasts. For what you receive here this is a great bargain, you will not find a more beautiful or serene place on this earth. The two boxer dogs, Beau and Bruno are also really sweet.
