About Janice Lord

My husband and I have lived here many years, he is a third generation resident of Pagosa Springs. We love this area and have enjoyed raising our family here.

Janice Lord purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Janice Lord chose Pagosa Springs

We chose this property because of the mountain views on every side. It's close to town , but feels secluded, has a year round creek running through it, who wouldn't choose it?

Great cabin with terrific view

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week and had a great time. It's close to town yet quite private; rustic appeal yet has all the modern comforts you appreciate; cozy yet plenty of room for us and our dog. The only issue we had was the mud that accompanies the spring thaw in early March, making access a little more difficult. We hope to return later in the year for some fishing and hiking and highly recommend this place for your next trip to Pagosa Springs.

Perfect Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was exactly what we needed ... private and peaceful with amazing mountain views!!! When we weren't out tubing and enjoying the hot springs we would sit and stare at the million dollar views from the comfort of the cabin. It was perfect for our family of 4! We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to be back again soon!!

The Pagosa Springs Hidden Gem

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time to Pagosa together as a couple (with our two dogs) and we had the best experience with Janice and Marvin. Janice was available by phone as we were driving in to Pagosa from Austin, Texas and had already ensured the house was heated and ready for us. Everything was beyond our expectations, which truly made our trip amazing. We unfortunately did not anticipate some of the snow fall that came in, but Janice and Marvin to the rescue. Marvin helped keep the drive clear and even made a trip to town to bring us some snow chains for our car (a Honda Accord). The views on this property are amazing. Our only concern being "city people" is that you need an ethernet cable for wifi here, but if you want to unwind, it's no biggie. We highly recommend going to the Pagosa Hot Springs, especially if you plan on skiing. These springs truly work wonders on sore muscles that have been skiing all day. It's also just a cool experience to be super warm and enjoying yourself outdoors when the temp is 20F. As other reviews say, we will of course be back. This is the place to stay if you come here. The location is nice because you get to feel like you're out in the country with mountain views all around, but only 5 min drive to town, and 30min drive to the ski hill. It's the best of everything. Thank you Janice and Marvin! (and sorry this was not posted sooner, Pagosa and your hospitality has always been on our minds since we left)

Couldn't have been better!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here the last week in July. Janice was extremely helpful throughout the process. The mountain views are absolutely gorgeous, while the town, less than a 5 minute drive from the property, is charming and diverse. The pictures shown of the property are a good representation of what you can expect. Catherine and I will most definitely be returning!

P.S. - We hail from Austin, TX so it blew both of us away that very few people need air conditioning in Pagosa Springs.

charming rustic cabin

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very clean and comfortable and just what you'd expect in the Colorado mountains. It was in a great, convenient location - just outside of town, so private, but very close to restaurants, etc. that you would want in town. We skied at Wolf Creek, and it was very convenient as you did not have to go through town to get there. Janice was very nice to work with. Would like to come stay again!

Perfect cabin where you feel like you are the only ones around!!

  • 5 of 5

Our one-week vacation at this cabin was absolutely perfect! My husband and I surprised our five-year-old daughter with a trip to Colorado for Christmas. We drove there from Texas and made great time and Janice was so sweet to let us check in a little bit early. The cabin was in great condition and exceeded every one of my expectations ! I have been to Pagosa Springs before and it is such a hidden gem and what a cute town it is. We did everything from tubing down a hill in town, skiing , dogsledding to even taking a horse drawn carriage ride on Christmas Eve through the snow !! It was a magical vacation and I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a place to go that you feel like you were in the middle of nowhere but only a mile from town !!!!
