About Pat McCombs

Hortons enjoy the outdoors, that is why we love it here.

Pat McCombs purchased this house in 2008

Why Pat McCombs chose Tennessee

We looked for 5 years, we trekked all over Middle Tennessee, searching for the perfect lake location. I was looking for something that reminded me of our lake cottage on Lake Champlain in Vermont, where I grew up.

Finally found it here. Panoramic view, nice wooded lot, that slopes right into the lake!

What makes this house unique

Huge dock, this is right on the lake. Private, secluded, peaceful ... yet minutes to all that Nashville has to offer.

Comfortable and relaxing. Gorgeous view of lake

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a good time at this house. We fished on the dock, although we didn't catch anything, maybe bad timing, no fish in February, don't know much about fishing. Beds were all comfy, house was warm, set up nicely. Small kitchen but well stocked. Laundry was helpful. We felt lucky to find a place that would allow our dog. She is well behaved and did great there. Weather was nice enough to be outside, we used the decks and the hot tub and the dock a lot. The manager was helpful before during and after our time there. We will try to come back next year in April or May.

Gorgeous property but needs new beds!

  • 4 of 5

The property is tucked away in a rich neighborhood of huge stone/brick homes. Reticent and secure. Our dogs loved roaming the property, and we took walks in the hilly area. My husband fished off the dock. He didn't catch anything, but it was still relaxing. Overall, it was immaculate, and they do have all the necessary amenities - stove, coffee pot, soap, towels, Roku with all the favorite channels and even Netflix, etc.

THE SUNSET & SUNRISE ARE FANTASTIC! You can star gaze with a glass of wine. My next comment doesn't reflect the property, but there are very few mom and pop restaurants (to our knowledge) nearby. We went to Sam's Bar on the water at a Marina, and that was cheap and delicious. You can rent a boat from that Marina. Otherwise, 5 to 10 miles from the property are all commercial chain restaurants. Good food options, but we like the hole-in-the-wall places.

Took a UBER to downtown. It was about $30 for a 20-30 minutes ride. Taking a UBER made it much more relaxing to drink and enjoy the bands.

Between the pets that have been there in the past (dander) and the old age of the home (dust), our allergies killed us. The coach and TV are small. The couch and recliner aren't comfortable. The worst con are the beds! Old, lumpy, extremely firm and the master bed creaks when you move. I took a nap in our truck one afternoon because the bed killed my back. Not all the windows will open, and the ones that do are very hard to open. Having the windows open helped with our allergies.

It was relaxing and fun! The property owner was great. He left us alone, but if we had a question, he was very responsive.

The house was nice, view of the lake was gorgeous. The property was close enough to downtown Nashville to make day trips very convenient! The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful! Would definitely stay here again.

Small place, great for boaters

  • 3 of 5

The water view is wonderful and if you brought a boat, the boat house would be a really great feature. The air-conditioning, TV and appliances worked well during our short visit, which amazed us as there was a fierce windstorm that caused the trees to dance and made navigating the very, very steep property, and outside stairs, more than a little worrisome. Also, the master bed somehow made so much noise when we moved that it woke us up several times. Good neighborhood and very small but adequate kitchen.

Perfect Getaway House!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a "staycation" in Nashville. It was hard to believe it's so close to the city, it feels so calm and peaceful. The house was absolutely adorable, accommodating and VERY clean. The view was amazing, and the dock was easily accessible. There's a glassed in porch area if the weather requires, but also plenty of outside deck area. The kitchen had everything we needed, the linens were fresh and plenty. We are already planning our trip for next year!
