The Owner purchased this house in 2013
We discovered Costa Rica's Southern Pacific coast years back and fell in love with the Country, the people, the food and especially their 'Pura Vida' approach to life. After searching for the perfect location and home we found Dominicalito and the Las Olas development.
Our views are spectacular, and the home 'Modern/Rustic'. We've central air (rarely found), 3 master bedroom suites 2 KING, 1 QUEEN, each with magnificent views, a gated and secure community, and we own sunsets you will never find anywhere else in the world.

We have stayed at some of the finest luxury hotels and resorts all over the world, but our week at Casa Serendipia was beyond compare. The villa was posh in every way. The rooms were lovely - spacious and elegantly appointed - with breathtaking views of the Pacific from each of the three master suites. And the rain forest as our backyard teeming with monkeys and beautiful birds made for invigorating morning hikes.
The kitchen had everything we needed from state-of-the-art stainless appliances to pots, pans, corkscrew, whisks etc. etc. If we needed it, it was there. Better than our kitchen at home in Boca.
We'd never been to Costa Rica before and had no idea what this area had to offer but Raul, our concierge (WOW) provided us with detailed recommendations about the best restaurants and attractions, the beaches, waterfalls, and charming little shops. And he hired a fabulous chef and tour guides for various trips (fishing and rafting). I've already recommended Casa Serendipia to a colleague at the office. I just hope that he doesn't get any ideas of using it the week or two that I hope to go back.
The house is absolutely gorgeous. The views are incredible. The pool is perfect. The owner and concierge were easy to work with before and during trip. The concierge, Raul, was friendly and helpful, he helped us book a boat trip and got us some groceries because we were arriving in evening. Knowing that Raul was around to answer questions was great, we didn't need to worry about anything. My husband and I and our two teenage sons could not have been happier. Because each teenager had their own suite, we were felt spoiled, but it helped with family harmony for all to have their own space. The wi-fi was fast and reliable, also a plus for family harmony with teenagers. There was also sky TV and a great collection of DVDs. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked many meals in kitchen and on grill. As others have said the second BM in Uvita was best grocery store in immediate area for us, we missed the AutoMercado that people had recommended on way from San Jose. I've been to Costa Rica a few times before so this trip, instead of trying to see the marquis attractions we stayed in the Dominical/Uvita area and had more than enough to do and saw plenty of animals, birds and natural beauty. And staying close to "home" afforded us sunsets and relaxed evenings at the house. We saw more animals at Hacienda Baru than in previous trips to Manuel Antonio. We found most of the tourists we met in the area, like us, had all been to Costa Rica a few times, so chose this area as "educated consumers". It has a very laid back vibe, yet also has luxury homes and plenty of things to do, we liked rafting, Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary, Nauyaca waterfall, and boat trip to Cano Island, although snorkeling visibility is allegedly hit or miss, and on our day it was a miss, still saw lots of fish and sea several sea turtles en route, just not amazing visibility. Because the house and pool was so nice we spent less time than we thought we would at the beaches, but loved seeing the ocean from the house and hearing the waves. The drive from San Jose was no big deal, but 4 wheel drive is a must for the house and area. By day two we got the hang of the steep climbs. Just sitting on the patio or balcony in the early morning and hearing the waves crashing and dozens of birds was heavenly. I wish we had booked two weeks instead of one, it was a superb house, in a lovely location. Wish we were there now.
My 2 friends and I went on a girls vacation. This house was perfect, beautiful and the view just can't be any better! We spent time hiking, hanging out on the patio and in the pool marveling at the AMAZING view. The concierge, was very helpful and the owners were very speedy responding to emails. The house has DVD's and we also had relaxing evenings having "happy hour" and watching "chick flicks". We will definitely be back. Did I mention the amazing view?!
I was very impressed by almost everything at Casa Serendipia. The house is very nice, as advertised. The bedrooms are all high quality and spacious, but the upstairs is the best. The views are great, and the living areas and kitchen are very nice. The infinity pool is a great place to relax and enjoy the sunset. Our concierge, Raul, did a great job arranging activities, at our request, including pre-purchasing some groceries. He also arranged flowers delivered to a restaurant for an anniversary dinner. Great service.
Here are some recommendations for future travelers: for groceries go to the BM store on the South side of Uvita, not the one a few blocks closer on the North side. Much bigger and better. For beaches, Ventanas and Uvita were our faves. I recommend hiring a boat to take you to Playa Arco for a totally private beach day. For restaurants, Exotica had excellent food and amazing service. Ask for off-the-menu wine selections. La Parcela and Azul (in the El Castillo hotel) have amazing views and good food. Citrus is a bit overrated. Jolly Roger is a fun, ultra-casual wing bar with nice views, close to the house. For excursions, Nauyaca Falls is amazingly beautiful and a great place to swim. Whitewater rafting was a blast and not dangerous. The ATV tour was very nice, but a bit hot and tiring. Don't snorkel or fish in the afternoon. Go in the morning. More fish. Some excursions don't accept credit cards and ATMs are finicky, so bring plenty of cash for excursions and miscellaneous.
The drive from San Jose to Dominical is pretty, but 3 hours long. If I come back, I will connect to Quepos, which is only about 30 minutes from Dominical. The highways are modern, but many of the side roads are steep and very bumpy. Rent a four-wheel drive.
All in all, very enjoyable vacation in a great house.
Casa Serendipia and its concierge services truly meet and exceed expectations. This beautiful home is wonderfully well laid out and appointed, with master suites all privately separated throughout the house and ALL with ocean great views!! Three couples and we all felt we had our own private space all week. A perfect kitchen for cooking in or bringing a private chef (did this twice while visiting and WELL worth it!!!) Outdoors and the pool/deck area reflect the quality of this home, even a pass-through window from the kitchen to the outdoor bar and grill area! Coastal and sunset views are spectacular! Easy access to grocery stores, great local restaurants, and 5-10 minutes from perfect beaches - door to feet in the sand. Visit again? Recommend highly? You bet!!!! Love this place! Lee & Cheryl
Every morning our family awoke to a glorious 180 deg view of the blue Pacific ocean. The home was very well equipped, comfortable and had pretty much every amenity you could ask for. The infinity pool provided a wonderful respite at the end of the day to relax and watch the sunsets - which were fabulous every day we were there. Casa Serendipia works with a local rental management company to provide a concierge for your stay. We worked with Raul, who pre-shopped for us allowing us to arrive with provisions already in the refrigerator and cocktails ready to be made! He also introduced us to a local chef who prepared 2 wonderful meals during our stay - truly magnificent and well recommended. Dominical has a lot to offer and the home is centrally located to get wherever you need to go - Uvita is a short 15 mins south and Manuel Antonio about 40 mins north. Do not miss Nauayaca waterfall on your trip to Dominical........unbelievable.
Playa Dominical located in the Southern zone of Costa Rica has been recognized to be the most Bio-Diverse and beautiful place on the planet. One of the largest unspoiled primary rain forests in Central America. Dramatic coastlines combined with abundant aquatic life, scenic cascading rivers and waterfalls, the highest mountain peak in Central America, its no secret that this is the 'hottest Spot' in Costa Rica.
National Geographic called Corcovado National Park the most 'biologically intense place on the planet'
