Lovely Victorian Row Home located in the heart of Richmond's famous and historic Fan District. Our home has been completely renovated and offers our guests every amenity, including a full completely remodeled kitchen with dishwasher, microrange, an upscale gas grill stove top, oven, double stainless steel refrigerator and center island and every cooking utensil you could want or need. Our home has three lovely bedrooms, one of which has a king size bed, another a queen, and a third with a pull out queen. There are two large flat screen TV's and a smaller TV in the kitchen to entertain and/or inform when you are preparing meals. We also have a DVD and an extensive video library. There is a small office upstairs complete with printer and scanner and the house has WIFI. The laundry washer and dryer are in the basement. Other rooms are a large formal dining room, sitting 8, a living room downstairs with a nice library, along with the kitchen, and a completely redone bath. There is an additional remodeled bathroom upstairs. The home has 4 fireplaces, the one in the living room is gas. There is a front porch for evening and afternoon sitting to view beautiful Meadow Street Park across the street. There is a small patio area off of the kitchen in the back of our home with a table and 4 chairs for outdoor dining. The Fan is not only historic but fun. It's a great location for walkers, a short walk to the restaurants and shops in Carytown and almost 80 restaurants within walking distance, many of Richmond's best. We are a short walk to all of Richmond's outstanding museums including the Virginina Museum of Fine Arts. Richmond is centrally located to many Civil War sights and battlefields and only an 90 minute drive to the Shennadoah Valley to the west and the beaches at Virginia Beach to the east. We are only a short 45 minute drive to Williamsburg, Virginia and just two hours to Washington DC. The spring in Richmond is fantastic, and the fall is sooooo beautiful.

I am originally from the east coast but have lived out west in California and Arizona for the last 30 years, San Diego, Tucson and Lake Tahoe. My wife, Shirley, and I, when our three children moved away from home, wanted to return to the eastern seaboard and a four seasons climate. In Richmond we have found a wonderful, charming and historic community to do just that. We also wanted to be in an urban setting and in an historic area and Richmond met our requirements on every level. I was a newspaper publisher/owner for the last 22 years and before that a banker.
Dale Good purchased this house in 2010
Because of its history and beauty and the charm and character of the 'Fan District' and it's people. Wonderful urban era for walking and enjoying the history and charm of the neighborhood. Please take the time to browse through our reviews to see what other guests had to stay about our home and the Fan.
We can walk to almost everything. Museums, restaurants, shopping, sporting events. We are also close to the beautiful Shennadoah Valley and Williamsburg and Washington DC.
The photographs of this home and its location do not do it justice. The home was beautiful and welcoming. Our family thoroughly enjoyed it. The location was equally great and interesting views of the street and park, as well as its close proximity to restaurants.
We had a wonderful time in Richmond. This home is beautiful, beds were extremely comfortable, location is perfect!!! Really enjoyed the neighborhood, easy to get everywhere!
I have nothing but positive things to say about this lovely home and our stay. The location is so convenient to all things Richmond, you can walk or drive to Carytown, VCU, the Museum District (Virginia Museum of Fine Arts), theaters, restaurants, stores, many quaint parks, and/or you can just stroll through the Fan and admire the historic homes and the tree lined streets. The master bedroom was spacious, bright (you do have blinds to control morning sunlight), and thoroughly comfortable. The living areas are warm and inviting. The 2 full bathrooms are very well equipped, nicely appointed, clean, and also comfortable. The kitchen is beautiful and has every amenity you need. Checking in and out was a breeze thanks to the lock box and key. If you want a true Fan experience, definitely consider this home. It brought back so many wonderful memories of when my husband and I lived in the neighborhood years ago. One note: parking later at night can be difficult due to lack of availability on the street out front. Be prepared to walk a couple blocks. This is typical of the Fan but did NOT detract from our stay as we're used to this. We would love to return to this lovely home and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates a lovely home, kind owners, and a perfect setting.
I cant thank Dale enough for responding so promptly when we had to make last minute arrangements to rent a home in Richmond for a funeral to attend. We were driving in from Minnesota so we had to finalize within a short time to be sure we had somewhere to stay when we got there.
Many times owners don't respond in a prompt manner and we needed to finalize within a couple hours, which Dale was luckily able to do.
When we arrived we were happy to see a very clean and orderly home with the homey feel we needed after traveling so far. Dale was very prompt in responding to any questions we had and I would have no problem highly recommending his property to others.
Thanks again to Dale & Family for sharing your beautiful home!
Immaculate, comfortable home in the historic Fan District. Convienent location to nearby shops and restaurants; we will definitely return.
We enjoyed our stay at Dale Good's home in Richmond. The home itself was beautifully furnished. It was a pleasure to have the cool central air to come into, after very hot and humid days outside. The kitchen was state-of-the-art, as were the bathrooms. All of the rooms were comfortable and there was plenty of room for four adults to spread out, or to socialize together in the living room. Walking down the staircase in the morning is visually stunning with the view of trees through the glass in the front door. We took early morning walks past well-maintained row homes with manicured lawns. We felt very safe. We'd never been to Richmond before and would love to come back and stay here again.
Within walking distance to the world reknown Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Virginia State Historical Museum, the Virginia Childrens Museum and the Virginia Science Museum. Also you can walk to the state capital, Byrd Park, live theaters and the Richmond Art District. Richmond's best restaurants are all within walking distance. In addition, shopping on Cary Street is a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk.
