Two story rustic cottage located directly on Wells Beach about .3 miles from the end of mile road. You will enjoy a peaceful getaway on the beach without the hassle of finding parking or a spot on the beach.
The first floor of the cottage is comprised of a full kitchen (electric stove, microwave, pots and pans, silverware and dishes), dining room, full bath with a stand up shower and living area. Directly off the living area is an enclosed porch with panoramic views of Wells Beach. The beach can be accessed directly from the porch area. On the rear entrance where the kitchen is located is a porch that can be used for relaxing and people watching on Atlantic Ave.
The second floor consists of three bedrooms and a half bathroom. The front bedroom has a double bed and windows overlooking the beach. The back bedrooms both have windows overlooking Atlantic Ave. One bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has two twin beds. There is no air conditioning but it is not needed on most days with the refreshing ocean breezes.
Included with the cottage you will have access to an enclosed shower for rinsing off after the beach with both hot and cold water. There will also be beach chairs, and an assortment of other beach accessories available to you during your stay. There is enough parking for four cars.
Historic Wells, Maine continues to be one of the finest family vacation getaways around. Conveniently located approximately 1.5 hours from Boston, and situated perfectly between the quaint villages of Ogunquit and Kennebunkport. There are several miles of beautiful coastline that offer everything from beaches to fishing.
Recreational activities include kayaking, fishing, and sailing. There are miles of both hiking and biking trails located nearby, including the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve at Laudholm Farm and the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Preserve.
Dining selections include lobster and clam shacks, family-friendly restaurants and fine dining establishments. The area also offers historic sites, lighthouses, antique shops, collectible bookstores, and outlet stores. The Wells Transportation Center is home of the Downeaster Passenger Train by Amtrak that runs from Boston's North Station to Portland. The area is also served by taxis and an in-season trolley service.
