About Todd M.

My name is Todd and I was born and raised in SC. I went to the College of Charleston where I fell in love with Folly Beach. When I found this property I knew it was the perfect fit. I've done a lot to make it everything it can be, but am always looking to improve and ask each guest for their comments and suggestions. Offering the best experience for each guest is my number one concern.

Scenic View of Wildlife

  • 5 of 5

The best part of this place was the view. Every morning and afternoon we would see the egrets and the seagulls coming to eat (usually the same two) and even had a dolphin come to the dock! You can kayak out and see the beautiful homes on the Marsh. We enjoyed going to Folly Beach County Park (less crowded) and the Gold Parking Pass was invaluable. We even used the Gold Pass to go to see a regaee concert at James Island County Park. Day trips to Charleston were a lot of fun: the waterfront park, the Battery and just walking around admiring the architecture. We enjoyed Husk and Poogan's Porch restaurants as well as a Ghost Tour in Charleston. We found Folly Beach to be very crowded on the weekends and usually went in the late afternoon. We ate at Taco Joe's, Snapper John's and Crab Shack. All good beach style restaurants. Our highlight was fishing with Captain Ben with Reel Time Fishing Charters. We caught many big red fish (30pds!), small fish and even a stingray. Great time for children and adults. Todd was very attentive as a host. If something needed to get done, it got done. House was efficient and clean. New bikes were available to use and kayaks. Nice relaxing beach week was had by all. Thanks Todd.

Great Family Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

We decided this was where we wanted to stay because of all that was offered, views from each window, kayaks and bikes, it was close to the beach and it was located in the general area of where we wanted to be. When we got there, we found all the things that we were looking for. The views were amazing, no matter what time of day or what type of weather. Blue skies and storm clouds alike were represented in each window and they made the place feel like you were living inside of a post card. My sons took the kayaks out at sunset one evening and came back telling us stories of how the dolphins swam right next them as they watched the sun go down. The property itself was clean and nicely laid out so that everyone had their own space and the bathrooms were large and there was an amazing bathtub upstairs that was perfect to soak in (there was a separate shower as well). The kitchen was well stocked and had everything that we needed. There were plenty of places to eat nearby and the beach was close enough to get to in only a matter of minutes. The beds were comfortable and we loved the hard wood floors throughout. This place was a wonderful choice and we would love to come back and stay here on our next trip to Charleston!

Convenient, Relaxing and Beautiful Views!

  • 4 of 5

The house was just perfect for our family. We enjoyed our stay very much. The location couldn't be better if you are looking for an affordable, off-beach area. We weren't able to enjoy the kayaks, due to the tropical storm Bonnie that paid us a visit, but we enjoyed watching the tides going in and out each day. The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels, etc. We did have an issue with the hairdryer being missing- but one was delivered that very day! We also had a concern with one of the ground floor bedroom doors that didn't have a privacy lock on it, and that was fixed right away. We did not have quite as much luck with getting the downstairs pocket bathroom door to lock- but we got the family trained super fast NOT to open that door- lol. I should mention that my grown kids came for the weekend, and we always had PLENTY of hot water.

The kitchen is pretty well stocked- it could honestly use a few pieces here & there, but I was able to make do. All in all, I would love to return again! Thanks everyone so much for making our stay so enjoyable.

Unbelievable vacation

  • 5 of 5

We haven't had a true vacation in several years. We found this home as it appeared unique and offered several amenities you don't typically find. Bikes, kayaks, a boat ramp, several balconies, etc. Plus it's on the river. Can't go wrong there. We were pleasantly surprised by all new beach cruiser bikes and the kayaks were definitely a treat. The house itself is very nicely cleaned with all the kitchen and bath items we needed. I happened to notice a previous comment about items of issue but we found everything in the home to be perfectly kept well maintained and cared for. I especially loved the new dining table. Todd, the owner obviously cares a great deal about his property is easy to work with and very nice. If there was anything we needed he was ready and happy to assist. The recommendations he offered helped to familiarize ourselves with the area and feel more like locals then tourists. Thanks you for a fantastic much needed vacation. We will definitely be back again.

Charming place!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay at this rental. We chose this place because of the nature and water views, and it turned out to be a great choice! It's a charming place that is quite peaceful. It offers both sunrise and sunsets with opportunities to take many beautiful photos of the wild life that comes in and out throughout the day.. Plenty of room for others if you're traveling with other adults or children. The kitchen is small but offers all the amenities you will need. The appliances are up to date and clean! The owner Todd is quite nice to work with.. He accommodates all your needs offering information on the area restaurants, entertainment, and beach area. He even offers you a beach parking pass which is a huge convenience for time and saving money! You will be able to take advantage of the parking here becasue it has access to most venues in town, beach included. We did not use the bikes he offered because we found them old and not desirable to use but I have since spoken with Todd about it and he has gone to great lengths to fix everything we talked about.. He replaced the old bikes to new and now offers not 2, but several brand new bikes for a small family to enjoy.. He even replaced the kitchen table and has fixed up a couple other minor issues we spoke about.. Yes, a very great guy to do business with! He makes it his priority to make your visit top notch! I should mention , his rental is only minutes from down town Charleston! Very nice for those who still want to see the area without all the hustle and bustle of traffic and noise.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will consider staying here agian if we're in the Charleston area. Thank you Todd! It was very nice doing business with you! 5 stars for sure! Keep up the good work!

a great location, and beautiful place

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay. The location was amazing........viewing sunsets, watching dolphins, egrets, herons.....all right outside our window. This place is wonderful. The easy access to the beach and downtown Charleston was fantastic. This place could easily be 5 starts with a little TLC. There were a few nails sticking out of the steps, going up to the master bedroom, that I wanted to pound in, the dinning room table and chairs need some wood glue, along with the footboard in the Master. There were no bike locks to be found, and the chains needed some attention. All minor things, I'm hoping will be addressed.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your critique of our home. There are now 6 brand new beach cruisers and a brand new dining table. We also just installed a brand new a/c system for those hot summer days. The stairs and other minor issues were addressed as well to ensure a perfect guest experience. Thanks again for alerting us of these issues. We look forward to seeing you again. Todd
