Wife is Accountant; Husband is Electrical Contractor. We also buy old houses and remodel them; it's creative design for the Accountant and construction management for the Electrician. We love to travel and we love living at the beach
Karlene and Steve purchased this cottage in 2009
The Town of Kure Beach is unique: no high rises, no dense commercial district, good food in a few favorite places.
The ocean is just across the street, its a single family house, the beach is not crowded, a true sense of cherishing life's simple pleasures in an otherwise frenetic world.
I just wanted to say thanks again. We've been bragging to everyone how
great Simple Pleasures was. I've never stayed anywhere that was so
well stocked with dishes, utensils and supplies. The house was
remodeled / updated beautifully and was very clean, but all of the
extras is what made it such a great place. The outdoor shower and
grill were my two favorite additions. I never took a shower inside,
the outside one was much more convenient. We didn't go to a restaurant
during the entire stay. We grilled, ate on the back deck, then would
go to the rocking chairs to watch the traffic jams. ...
We are already talking about two different trips later this year and
we hope to work Simple Pleasures into the budget for both.
We stayed at this house for 3 nights. It was fully stocked and clean. It was also decorated very well and organized very well. When searching for a property I had trouble finding one that included linens, so I was very grateful for this one. We could tell that they put a lot of effort into making the house accommodating for guests. We loved the outside shower! Great for rinsing off after the beach. Our young daughters also loved playing with the toys. It was in a convenient location for visiting Ft. Fisher, the NC aquarium and the USS NC Battleship. It worked out perfectly for our family of four, worlds better than a hotel! For future consideration, you may want to consider adding another TV for one of the bedrooms and a window covering for the back door for extra privacy. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! We loved it!
Me and my family stayed at Simple Pleasures for 3 nights and it was perfect. Fully stocked with everything you would need. We had a message on the chalk board welcoming us! I love the idea of the enclosed outdoor shower too. You don't need to bring anything but food and personal items just as advertised! Recommend to anyone!
What a pleasure it is to write this review and to say thank you to the owners for providing vacationers with a beautiful and convenient home for a family to stay in whilst visiting one of the prettiest beaches on the East Coast. The home truly has everything. When the owner says just bring your clothes and personal essentials that's indeed all you need. We've heard that before and came prepared for limited this and that and found I over packed and overstuffed, I could have left it all behind, I'll know next time...thank you Steven and Karlene. It's obvious that this property is cared for the minute you walk in the door. Every detail has been thought of -- from ziplock bags and fresh ground coffee, to fresh towels and handmade soaps. You won't be sorry you picked this one. It's right across the street from the beach with two easy accesses and your four-legged friend can come along too! No carpet to fuss over. Our three-year-old daughter loved all the toys and it's only a short, 5 minute drive to the Boardwalk. Owners are wonderful and always available via text for questions.
Simple Pleasures beach house is a great place to stay for a month - clean, comfortable, charming and close to so many attractions - AND just 60 steps from the Atlantic Ocean! I loved spending a month at Simple Pleasures and plan to return again and again.
Simple Pleasures is absolute perfection! When we arrived we found that the house was spotless and clean. We were very surprised to see a personalized message greeting us on the chalkboard telling us that Starbucks coffee was freshly ground and waiting on us. We were also surprised to see handmade lemongrass soaps for us to use in the bathroom. Amazing! This house has everything you could ever think of (towels, beach towels, linens, dish towels, paper products, laundry and dishwashing detergent, beach chairs, umbrella, sand toys, bikes, and more). Things were so organized and perfect. It was convenient to be across the road from the beach and right at a public access. Beds were comfortable and house was very quiet at night. We were so glad that they allowed us to bring our yorkie along. We had a wonderful time and will definitely stay at Simple Pleasures again!
