About Kay or Glenn Dunn

Your hosts, Kay and Glenn Dunn, want your stay at Pond Mountain Inn to be a memorable, enriching experience. Since assuming ownership of this quintessential Vermont bed and breakfast in October 2013, they have made thoughtful changes that retain the tradition and character of this exact replica of a 1800s Eyebrow Cape. These thoughtful improvements enable them to satisfy their guests’ highest standards and to confirm their commitment to extraordinary service and accommodations not normally found outside Dorset or Manchester.

Worldwide travelers for the past twenty years, Kay and Glenn have accumulated over five thousand night stays in hotels spread across five continents. This experience has informed their understanding of the attentive service and distinctive amenities that produce positive customer experiences. Thus, they are dedicated to offering their guests the same kind of service and experience they expect. It is their wish that every guest feels at home from the first moment of arrival to the (hopefully regretful) time of departure.

Glenn and Kay have been happily married for sixteen years, having met on a flight from Manila to Narita, Japan in August 1996. Kay was a Bangkok-based flight attendant for Northwest Airlines, and Glenn worked as an expatriate living in the Philippines. Three months after their first encounter, they held their first date at Shangri-La Hotel’s Cheval Blanc Restaurant in Manila. They married in Bangkok, Thailand in 1998 at Kay's family residence and again in New Jersey, United States in 2000.

Your hosts are honored that you have considered their bed and breakfast, and they are firmly committed to creating a relaxing, comfortable stay for you and your family. Their home is truly your home!

Why Kay or Glenn Dunn chose Wells

We wanted to return to New England and find a traditional antique reproduction home and property with expansive views. Our home rises from a country dirt-road nestled against lush Pond Mountain with dramatic neighboring views of Northeast Mountain – beyond the great lawn the property border to the north has visible remnants of a long-standing farmers stonewall that leads to our neighbor’s beautiful pond, expansive meadows and a distant antique farm house.

Our neighbors give us their Araucana or Ameraucana fresh bluish green eggs when available or we simply visit the local farm three miles from the property and pickup fresh milk, eggs and grass fed beef – just farther is where we buy our pure Vermont Maple Syrup. Still farther, we have available an abundance of organic meats, organic fruits & vegetables, artisan bread & cheeses. The experience is indescribable with unique offerings from each small town we visit. I almost expect to see Norman Rockwell standing next to me with his farmers’ basket of produce suitable for his next canvas.

What makes this cottage unique

The décor at Pond Mountain reflects a New England country style, from the nicely appointed living & dining rooms with original oil paintings and antiques in the Main House to the spacious comfort of the Loft Apartment Suite and Garden Cottage. Enjoy our generous accommodations and marvel at the soaring, uninterrupted views from inside. “We are deeply committed to delivering an unparalleled experience – breakfast and dinner is exquisite and we have spared no expense making your sleeping experience a dream come true.”

Can't wait to return!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 2 kids and our dog had an amazing time at Garden Cottage at the Pond Mountain Inn. The stay exceeded our expectations in so many ways and we can't wait to return. The Cottage was beautiful, immaculately clean and stylishly appointed. The mattress, blankets and sheets were all 5-star hotel quality. The cottage was very private but close enough to the main house that the breakfasts were only a short walk up the driveway. The breakfasts are worthy of their own 5-star review. Every day Kay made us phenomenal homemade breakfast from the freshest ingredients. The coffee delicious and the conversation was lovely. The Inn is set on a hill with breathtaking views. You may not want to leave but if you do you will find tons of things to do. We went to the local lake a couple times where we fished, swam and rented kayaks. We went to Dorset (15 mins away) for a high-end meal, Woodstock for a lovely day in a beautiful classic VT town. We went to Manchester, an upscale town with lots of shopping. We also went on a hike near the Inn where we saw incredible views of VT and a perfect horseback ride too. My 10 year old daughter says "I would give it 10 stars if I could". The best part was the warm hospitality of Glenn and Kay who run the Inn so joyfully that you will daydream about quitting your day job to run your own Inn one day. For now we will keep daydreaming and be content returning to the Pond Mountain Inn so we can catch up with Kay and Glenn and experience VT living at its finest.

Beautiful location, quiet, clean, attractive!

  • 5 of 5

Our June visit to Pond Mountain Inn at the cottage was grand! The cottage is spacious, clean, and comfortable with a well appointed kitchen. Beds are comfortable with soft linens. Art and decorative elements are everywhere. We could not have been more pleased with the warm welcome from our hosts and the scrumptious breakfast including delicious coffee! Very highly recommended!

Springtime at Mountain Pond Inn

  • 5 of 5

Our first impression was that of a well kept structure(s) and grounds. It was Springtime and trees were in bloom - almost as many colors as what I would imagine to see in the fall. We were blessed by a small dose of May snowfall! What an eclectic collection of art and memorabilia. Our hosts were so down to earth yet worldly folks. Their friendliness far exceeded my expectations. The loft was very spacious and well thought out as to furnishings. Patti and I will definitely return.

Happy Place

  • 5 of 5

Once again we returned to this magical place, made special by our generous and attentive hosts-become-friends, Kay and Glenn. We enjoyed a much needed rest in the quiet apartment, overlooking the snow covered mountains. We ate way too much of the delicious and generous breakfasts (my mouth is watering for the blueberry pancakes). We found plenty to do in the area, like x-country skiing and shopping, and eating dinner at The Barn. At the same time, we felt no rush to leave our beautiful surroundings. We've already booked our next stay.

The dinner and the array of hors d'oeuvres you prepared were delicious and enjoying all those delicacies in front of a roaring fireplace made the evening very special. Thai dinner next time! See you in October!! All Our Best – Kay and Glenn.

Home away from Home

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for clean, modern, affordable accommodation with the conveniences of home for our group of two adults and three teenage girls for a holiday weekend trip to Killington. We found just that and more at the Pond Mountain Inn. The loft apartment was absolutely beautiful, comfortable, and provided the space our group needed. We were not quite sure what to expect at a bed and breakfast Inn but the stay was a fantastic experience, one our group will cherish in our memories. The owners were very nice and hospitable to make our stay comfortable and worry free. They were in contact with us to help arrange our stay from the moment we spoke, through our travels, and until we checked out. They put in the extra effort to arrange breakfasts with our schedule and requests, and what a breakfast it was. The girls thought it to be the fanciest meal they ever had! Truly a home away from home.

Owner's Response: Kay joins me in thanking you again for staying with us! It was such a pleasure meeting you all! We have been blessed with great guests, but we especially enjoyed meeting the entire “crew”, but wished you could have stayed a little longer given the distance you traveled. We were so happy that the weather cooperated at Killington and your “Ski Weekend” was a resounding success. We always love making wonderful breakfasts truly appreciated hearing that “the girls” thought it was the fanciest meal they ever had. Thank you again for the very nice review and hope you find your way back to Vermont!

Highly recommend this superb inn!

  • 5 of 5

It gives great pleasure to submit the following review! My husband and I wholeheartedly agree that the picturesque Pond Mountain Inn is our very favorite B&B! AND we have stayed in a lot of B&Bs. Hosts Glenn and Kay are warm and friendly and instantly made us feel right at home. The accommodations are first class, clean and the entire establishment is meticulously well-maintained. The breakfasts are scrumptious and you won't be leaving the table hungry! Highly recommend the beautiful PMI!
