Bonnie and Donny purchased their dream home at the Shore. They grew up in the Pittsburgh,PA area. Bonnie attended Penn State and University of Pittsburgh and Donny is a true blue Pittsburgh fan of the Steelers, Pens and Pirates. Our son is an Eagle Scout and now at Penn State. We bought this property as part of our dream to retire at the shore and hope you will love it as much as we do. We are lucky to have family members who reside in the Cape May Beach area, who shared New Jersey's best kept secret of the tranquil unspoiled Cape May/Delaware Bay beach. Our neighborhood in Villas NJ area was featured on HGTV's Beach front Bargains show!! .
Bonnie Marsh purchased this house in 2012
The house is located in a residential area with a mix of smaller beach cottages and larger beach front homes that make for a friendly neighborhood feel. The location is close to shopping and is only about an 8 mile drive to either Wildwood or the downtown Cape May area, that features an old time Victorian feeling of the past. The area has lots of activities, parades, a new Convention Center and lots of restaurants and shopping. We like this area because it feels less touristy, but still gives you a feeling of being in a beach community where you will immediately feel your stress disappear. The views of the bay are stunning, especially during sunsets and the sand is super soft and great for long relaxing walks, or just sitting watching the boats and birds.
House is located just minutes from the Cape May Ferry terminal for anyone wanting to travel to/from Delaware or Maryland. We include a kayak you can use during your stay. Kayaking and canoeing are very popular on the Bay, which is steps from the house. Road where house is located has drive-up beach access.
We loved the house, location could not have been more perfect!! Beautiful sunsets from the deck!! Walking the beach every morning!! We could not ask for a better vacation!! We will be returning!!
We had a wonderful time while staying at Bonnie's home! With my mom and my three kids, we had a blast! With the bay only a short walk away it was great for morning runs and walks. The AC was a welcome treat to come back to after a long day at the beach! The house has it all as far as cooking and grilling or whatever you want to do. The beds are very comfy too! Thanks Bonnie, we had a very memorable vacation!
The house was perfect for our families to reunite from Vancouver Island, Quebec and Ontario. Excellent layout to give everyone enough space with grandparents and toddlers in the same house. There was every kind of household necessity you could imagine (except a tea kettle ;)
we loved walking to the beach just steps away but found it no good for swimming as it was very muddy and a ridiculous amount of dead horseshoe crabs. But amazing for strolling and relaxing.
We loved our time in Cape May and would definitely rent this house again!!
The owners are a delight to deal with and even sent us special offer updates for local attractions.
Great house. And really great that beach tags are there for the Cape May beaches. Everything in the house is in good order and clean. Nice quiet neighborhood. Beaches close to the house is not great but take the drive 3 miles down the road or use the Wildwood beach or Cape May, We were there with 2 couples and 3 kids (6 mths - 2½ yrs) and it was not a hazzle. Definitely can recommend this also price wise.
We had a great vacation staying at this lovely waterview home, just a few houses down from the bay in Villas, NJ! The home is almost new and beautifully decorated, yet comfortable too. The house was immaculate when we arrived. The pictures definitely do not do justice to the home. It is huge and so well equipped! The kitchen even had a mixer, an electric skillet and a frozen concoction maker! There is beach equipment available for use and a large washer and dryer to keep your beach towels clean.
We took a short drive to Cape May each day trying out different beaches using the beach tags that were provided. We made breakfast every morning and wonderful dinners in some nights. We also took some drives to Cape May (Lobster House and Frescos) and Wildwood (Beach Creek) to enjoy the restaurants and boardwalk. We loved Little Danny's for ice cream - about 5 min from the house.
This home is a great value and Bonnie is a pleasure to deal with! I highly recommend this home if you are planning on vacationing in this area!
Thank you Marsh’s for sharing your amazing home by the bay!! We are so much missing your beach house! Absolutely a great location and a fantastic home with all the great household amenities to keep us comfortable near everything Cape May has to offer. Even close enough to Atlantic City, Long Beach and Wildwood for day trips. Be sure to check out the Cape May Zoo and Wildwood Boardwalk less than a half-hour away, so much fun! The owners were wonderful corresponding and sent us info prior to arrival so we knew where to head the moment we arrived, a calendar of local events, and area shopping venues. The private beach was so close and the low tides an amazing discovery hunt for our grandsons. There is nothing better than a vacation by the beach, toes in the sand, water under our feet, shells and stones, sunsets and sunrises, and birds overhead – your home gave us wonderful family memory moments – thank you!!
