|Space||1,300 sq. ft.|
|Minimum Stay||2 - 7 nights|
Please note: Due to cleaning schedules our cottage rents from Sunday to Sunday in season. You must supply or rent your own sheets, towels, and soaps.
Our cottage is furnished to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. The media package is highlighted by a 60 inch flat screen HD TV, DVR, stereo and satellite WIFI internet (please note that internet downloading is limited by the satellite technology).
The ranch-style cottage features a great room with a living room, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances (the oven is not full-size) and a gorgeous view of the lake. Sliding glass doors from the kitchen exit onto a deck with lake views, table and chairs, and a gas grill. The living room has a gas stove.
The master bedroom has a queen bed, 55 inch TV, walk-in closet, and private master bath with a large ceramic tile shower. The second bedroom also has a queen bed, tv, with a large closet and full bath in the hall. The third bedroom has two sets of bunks and a large closet. The cottage is equipped with a full size washer and dryer.
A large screened porch on the lake side of the house gives 180 degrees of lake view.
There are two docks, one for boats and fishing and a floater for swimming and canoe/kayak launching. We supply a canoe, paddles, and life jackets (please use at your own risk). Please avoid dragging the canoe over the rocks but rather launch it from the dock, so that the bottom is not damaged. There is a fire pit/ring (we do not supply wood, but bundles can be purchased at the near-by White House Market).
Swimming off our lake-front is ideal, with clear no-wake water and minimal interference from waves, making it fun for younger children and adults.
We are retired and live in Ellicott City, MD.
Robert and Elizabeth Flickinger purchased this cottage in 2013
Great friends next door. Great flat lot. Hidden gem of a lake. Cozy cottage totally re-done.
Flat lot. Clean, deep water. Our dock normally has 10-14 feet of water. Centrally located on the Lake. Close to golf, tennis, and the State Park.
This was be cuteste little house ever!! Great location right on the lake and pictures don't do it justice. A lot bigger then it looks. Just celebrated my husbands 30th birthday here with our close friends and we had an amazing time. No complaints! Thank you so much
Its my 6th time visiting smith mountain lake and this house is the BEST place ever. Everything is so clean and pretty. All TVs are the brend new, and all sofas and beds are so confidence. The fire place is so amazing. Me and my friends stayed outside sitting around the fire place and talked and had hot tea which was just the best memorization for us. Also, deck is so big so we could fish while we were staying. There is a table on the deck, which is so great too. All the cooking tools are there: a lot of knifes, outdoor grill, 50+ spoons, forks and knives, bunch of pretty dishes and bowels, oven pans, and pots with various sizes. The table is big enough for all of us and the sofas in the living room is so confi and big. The owners of this property are so kind and gentle.
Overall, everything is just si perfect. We will defineyely come back! I love this place!!
This was our first visit to Smith Mountain Lake. My fiancé and I stayed in the cottage with our two sons, a friend and his wife. Upon arrival we were all very surprised in the BEST way. The pictures do not do this place justice. It was larger than we expected, very clean, kitchen is FULLY stocked, tastefully decorated, comfortable beds/furniture, cable, wifi, Bluetooth radio. All of the comforts of home plus more. Our favorite spot was the screen porch! (everyone enjoyed the wind chimes) Plenty of comfortable seating and an awesome view. Speaking of views no matter where you are in this cottage, inside or out, you have a lake view.
We were able to do some fishing with our boys off of the dock, sat around the fire pit and made s'mores, enjoyed a few canoe rides. All in all it was a VERY nice place for our weekend getaway and I'm so glad we chose this cottage!! The owners definitely go above and beyond to ensure their guests have a wonderful experience.
Great Place!!! We were looking for a place for a quiet get-away for a long weekend, and we found it. The owners are responsive in a timely manner to any questions that we had. The Fall is beautiful here at Smith Mountain Lake and this property was perfect. The fire pit near the lake was peaceful on a semi-chilly evening. We were able to fish off the dock at the house, and the boat launch was nearby. Within a 15 minute drive is "Downtown Moneta" with restaurants, bars and stores, and the state park is within minutes. There are several wineries nearby that are also worth the visit. The house is well equipped with everything that we needed. I feel certain we will be back in the future!!
We live about an hour away , so this offered a great escape for us without a long drive. We brought our dog who was in heaven just hanging out on the dock during the day in the sun. Very charming place with everything you would need for a weekend getaway. Highly recommended!
My family of 4 and our good friends (another family of 4) spent 3 nights at this lovely lake home in October 2016. We all wish we could have stayed longer.
* beautiful home, perfect for 4 adults and 4 kids
* well stocked kitchen
* beautiful screened in back porch perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails
* beautiful dock and backyard on lake (we brought our own boat, too)
* lots of bluegill to catch right off the dock (Kids loved that!)
* firepit with stocked wood pile; canoe was put to use, too.
* wifi (rained for 1.5 days so kids needed some electronic time)
* plenty of seating in the living room
* lots of board games offered at the home
* Very clean, well maintained
* Very nice owners
CONS: hot water didn't last long (a shower + dishwasher and hot water was gone)
Additionally, I want to publicly say that the owners of this house couldn't have been more kind. My family traveled to SML a day early as we were evacuating from Hurricane Matthew. While we found a hotel room near the lake, the owners offered to let us stay with them the first night, even though they were still at the house. They made sure the house was clean for us the next day, knowing we'd come in earlier than expected, were friendly to our plight of having to bring our dogs when we didn't plan to, and even offered to let us stay longer if we had any trouble getting home, due to hurricane damage (we didn't). We all really appreciated their kindness!
Looking forward to our next trip back there!
