Suttons Bay Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps 4

Located in the charming village of Suttons Bay the "Up North Tree House Retreat" is a perfect "get away from it all," location. This Glenn Arai designed home offers a modernist style with thoughtful consideration for its building site. Situated on a forested hill, it offers a tranquil setting under the shade of towering trees and actually feels like you are in a tree house. This is a 2 bedroom and 1 bathroom and will sleep up to 4 with 1 Queen and 1 Full.

All the comforts of home inside with a full kitchen, Cable TV, WiFi, and washer/dryer. Huge windows offer great forest views while relaxing in living room. Jacuzzi tub too!

Step outside the living room and relax on one of the 4 decks with a bottle of tasty local wine, some hand-crafted cheese or grill the catch of the day on the provided gas grill. Let the morning sun warm you as you start your day with a cup of coffee. Only 3 blocks to the beach, marina, shopping and so much more. You can play at the beach all day but have the chance to escape from the busy summer crowds when you arrive back at the house.

There is a fantastic beach and marina right in the village of Suttons Bay on West Grand Traverse Bay. The public library offers visitors a nice spot for renting videos and books. Bike and paddle board rentals are available in the village. Hop Lot Brewery is a doable walk too. Suttons Bay is located 15 miles from Traverse City. This is a great location for visiting Leelanau County. Northport, Omena, and Leland are all easy drives. Sleeping Bear Dunes is a 25 mile drive along M-22.

Linens are provided. No smoking. No air conditioning, but fans are provided.

Small dog considered.

Will consider short stays during any season. Prime Summer 3 night minimum or weekly Saturday-Saturday.

Reviewer Comments:

House was very nice, clean and very convenient to town. We had the feeling of being in a secluded forest but could walk to town. When visiting that area again, would definitely like to stay again.

Reviewer Comments:

Our stay at the Treehouse home was nice except for our first night. When we arrived, all of the windows were closed so it was very hot in the home. Unfortunately many of the windows were for view only and did not open, especially upstairs where it was very hot with the sloped roof line. We actually slept downstairs the first night on the floor because it was so hot upstairs. After the windows were open for a while and the weather cooled down a bit, we slept upstairs fairly comfortably. The kitchen was adequate for all of our needs and the deck was wonderful for winding down in the evenings to have a beer and enjoy the trees. Also, there was a very small shower curtain hoop which made taking showers kind of difficult as there wasn't enough room to move around when bathing. Overall, kind of a strange house, but worked well enough for us I guess.

Owner's Response: We are sorry you were uncomfortable your first night, we know we had a flash of really high temps that we don't always experience. The screens have been replaced so the ventilation should be better.

Reviewer Comments:

Everything was great except a few of the screens need replacing. In addition, the window crank to the right of the toaster oven has been broken for a couple of years now. Lastly, if they replace the furniture in the near future something a little more comfortable would be great. Other than these items, everything was wonderful. We had a great time!

Owner's Response: We will get to the maintenance items (screen and window crank) and will make let the owners know of your suggestion! Hope to see you again next year!

The Up North Tree House was perfect We loved all of the outdoor deck space and the location was perfect. The loft/bedrooms were very unique and cool. But it all boils down to the shower - it is wonderful!! You get to enjoy a perfect shower as you look out to the lake and surrounding woods. Very cool!
