About Phil or Stephanie Langley

Phil and Stephanie are locals - born and raised in Southern Maryland. Phil is a coast guard approved, licensed charter boat captain who has worked as a commercial waterman. He has spent many years fishing, crabbing and oystering on the Chesapeake Bay. Their appreciation of country living on the Chesapeake watershed has prompted them to extend the Chesapeake Country experience to their fishing clients and others. Captain Phil is eager to share his knowledge - from catching fish to cookin' crabs!

Why Phil or Stephanie Langley chose USA

When the neighboring farm (Phil's parent's home) became available in 2010, the weekly rental idea stepped closer to reality! This property is a compilation of waterfront, pier, large yard, corn/bean fields, and a comfy - well appointed home - complete with beautiful sunsets and tranquil mornings.

What makes this house unique

It's a wonderful place to experience shore-side, country living - fishing, crabbing, kayaking, sit-n-sip sunset cruises (right next door), or simply enjoying a gorgeous sunset at the pier. Looking for the right spot for your next summer vacation; Fall get-away; that special occasion, or holiday treat? Chesapeake Charm is just the spot! It's just right for a get-away with the girls, a long fishing weekend for the guys, a vacation with the family, a 'new' Thanksgiving tradition or a Christmas retreat - the possibilities are endless.

Guestbook comments from the owner

As always we had a wonderful week! Plenty of crabs, bald eagles, and terrific sunsets. July 4th was fun with fireworks all around. Starry nights - wow, wonderful to see so many stars. Thank you for everything - the great house, garage, pier - it's all PERFECT.

Great house on the creek, easy access to the bay for rockfish! Enjoyed by the whole family. Kitchen is well stocked and beds are comfortable. The DVD collection was great. I'd definitely stay again!

Owner's Response: Glad you all enjoyed your visit! We especially like it when folks get a chance to get out on the Bay; it's too close not to take advantage of. Thanks and hope you'll visit again!

Lovely getaway weekend.

  • 5 of 5

We would absolutely recommend this house to friends/family who are looking for a quiet and relaxing get away. From the moment we booked the house, Phil and Stephanie were so helpful and accommodating. When we got to the house, it was clean and Stephanie had even left little things like dish soap, bottled water and these homemade chocolate/peanut butter treats that gave it that extra touch of home. The property itself is breathtaking. We enjoyed many walks around the quiet roads. I could really go on and on about how much we enjoyed our stay! We will definitely be back!

Amazing getaway

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 6. We have 4 children and this house was a perfect fit for us.

The property is one of a kind, in such a beautiful setting, it was an amazing time.

The house was so accommodating and welcoming and has everything that you would need during your stay.

The property is nice and flat with lots of things to play with. The kids enjoyed the kayaks that the owners have there for guests to use and also lots of outdoor toys.

Stephanie and Phil are very kind and easy to deal with.

We loved it there.

Thanks Stephanie and Phil

We will be back!

Everything promised, and so much more!

While Chesapeake Charm advertises "crabbin', fishin' and shoreside sunsets", it delivers all this wrapped in the most gracious hospitality. Phil and Stephanie became family from the moment we walked into their vacation rental. The necessities were all waiting for us, but so were many soft touches, like instant macaroni and oatmeal packets, K-cups of varied flavors, etc., etc., etc.

Mom and I crabbed each day from the private pier, getting all the blue crabs the Lord intended for us, ate and shopped in restaurants just up the road in Lexington Park. Then on Saturday our son's family joined us for a weekend respite from Washington's toil. When Capt. Phil took me, my son and grandson charter boat fishing we three generations hooked so many Blues we caught and released most everything but the sheer fun of it all! I've had two boats myself on the Bay and fished it for 50 years, but never have I experienced a day like Capt. Phil gave us with his knowledge of these waters! We saw more thrashing and churning in that day as Blues chased bait fish and the Captain chased the Blues.

Whatever you do, you may to consider chartering Phil and form a lasting memory as we did. What a package! The best Chesapeake vacation rental around...a day of fishing like no other...and the most splendid sunrises and sunsets the Lord can paint!!!

Either way, vacation rental or vacation rental and chartered fishing, you'll be glad to meet and do business with Stephanie and Phil. You'll probably wind up putting them on your Christmas card list!

We are delighted you guys enjoyed your stay and hope you will come back and see us in the future. P.S. - your grandson did a mighty fine job for his first time fishing on the boat!

Wonderful

What a great vacation rental--we wanted to stay permanently! Everything was clean and comfortable. The home was exceptionally well-stocked--had all we needed. I especially enjoyed the sunset views. When I return to Southern Maryland, this will be my home away from home. The owners were warm and friendly--thanks creating part of a memorable vacation!
