Reviewer Comments:

Our family of 12 had a great stay at Forest Lodge Serenity. There are many things to do in and around Traverse City, eg., biking, kayaking, sailing, hiking, fishing and beach lounging. Great restaurants in the area, too. The rental house was well equipped, but had a few issues (two burners on stove not working, leaky shower head, a few lights out, but nothing major).

Reviewer Comments:

Great older house with a remote, old-style cottage feel. The lake is quiet for its size with many Loons and stars at night. One small issue for those that may need to have the Internet to check in on work occasionally, access was pretty much limited to the kitchen and the bedroom off the kitchen. Other than that it was a terrific vacation spot. I highly recommend this house.

Reviewer Comments:

Upon entering the house, we noticed some crumbling of the foundation from the front porch deck, and leaves gathered with moss. An old home, but comfortable. A little dusty and "cobwebby" when we arrived, and the back porch was not swept and was very dirty. Very private, quiet, with a nice crossbreeze from the lake. Newer windows, some new floors, but the kitchen floor needs a good scrubbing. (it was sticky and when wiped, came up black) We were visited by a mouse but this isn't the first time when we rent a property up north. The lake, beach, (although could use a big dumping of sand) and scenery was beautiful and we loved the sandy bottom that stayed shallow for quite a way out in the water. We rented a pontoon from Long Lake Boat Rentals and that was excellent as we were able to visit the islands and various sandbars. Thank you for the opportunity to stay at the Forest Lodge and experience Long Lake. I would like to say that the property management did a good job, except for trying to charge my credit card for the balance, when not notifying me in advance with a phone call, text or email. Also, the photos need updating of the beach as a ton of vegetation has taken over.

We enjoyed our stay in the beautiful rustic and historic lodge. The non functional piano was a disappointment, we had looked forward to musical evenings. The bridge to the beach needs handrails for us older folks. Thank you for a peaceful and memorable stay at the lake.

Map

Long Lake is a beautiful sparkling clean all-sport 2800 acre lake. Bring your water toys and soak in the sun. Long Lake also offers 7 islands and great fishing. This area offers gently rolling terrain traveling around the lakes. Connecting to Long Lake is Mickey Lake - a crystal clear lake that channels (only boats smaller than 19 feet through channel) into Long Lake and offers no-wake peacefulness! Just minutes to the hub of Traverse City, Interlochen and Lake Michigan’s Grand Traverse Bay. Local grocery stores along the way. These are perfect lakes to spend a vacation on!
