Reviewer Comments:

We had a wonderful stay at the House on Hickory! There was more than enough room for a family of four plus visitors. The house is fully stocked with cups, plates, silverware, fans, bedding, etc.. which was wonderful, and nicely cleaned too. The mini golf in the basement was a huge hit for the kids. There were some cobwebs, and bugs here and there but that just added to the woodsy feel of the cabin. The upstairs bathroom was large with a nice shower. The only downside is there wasn't a (sandy) beach nearby but we found Peterson beach on Lake MI which was wonderful! I am impressed with the rental agency as they made staying there very easy, and checked in to make sure everything was ok. Very nice vacation! thank-you.

Reviewer Comments:

The inside of the house was clean and comfortable but the outside definitely needed some attention. The front and back were covered in cobwebs and dirt. We spent an hour spraying down the porch so we could sit outside and enjoy it. Also, the lawn had not been mowed in quite some time. The location is somewhat remote but close enough to amenities, which we loved. Overall, I would recommend the stay.

Beautiful weather added to the charm of a beautiful cabin. The outside of the cabin could use some cleaning, but inside was very clean.

Reviewer Comments:

Nice home, however. There are enough cob webs to make new carpets out of. The pots and pans are useless, we had to wash everything before using it as they were all grease lined and chipping. The fire pit area was full of trash and old logs and pieces of burnt wood. The outside of the home was cob webs covered as well. All in all, The home was nice. We enjoyed the setting and the house was close to all we wanted to do. Really nice home, maybe a bit high for the rental but nice house, Thank you.

Great initial impression but found several areas that needed attention. We had to clean the outdoor furniture and patio in order to enjoy. The front porch had so many cobwebs and spiders- again had to clean it ourselves. We found previous renters used towels in hamper and old 1/2 bottle of wine in bathroom drawer. We did however enjoy our stay, amenities, lake , and traverse city area.

Map

Take a drive back in time to the quaint towns of Honor and Beulah. Beulah is a neat little place to grab some ice cream at the Dairy King, canoe the Platte River, or head to the Cherry Bowl Drive-In for some old-fashioned fun at the movies. This little town features a Click for Honor, Michigan Visit cafe's delis and of course the Cherry Hut for “up north” tasty cherry treats. You can also enjoy some putt-putt golf or bowling. With all this to do, don’t forget swimming at Beulah Beach or beautiful Crystal Lake which is 9 miles long and is just a short drive from town. Lake Michigan is west of town. About 10 minutes to Interlochen and 20 minutes to Traverse City. Crystal Mountain in Thomsonville offers amazing winter activities–skiing, sledding, ice skating! And, in the summer, enjoy the golf and the alpine slide!
