2 bedroom cottage in Provincetown on Commercial Street in the East End near the Truro border available for summer weekly rentals. The cottage has been fully renovated and is within 250 yards of the nearest town beach. It has a full size bed on the first floor and a queen size bed in the full size loft upstairs. Please note: the ceiling of the loft is 6 feet at its peak so this may be of concern for tall people. The cottage has a small but well equipped galley kitchen. the living room has a cathedral ceiling with a gas log fireplace. There are sliding glass doors off the living room that open to a deck and a very private back yard with an outside shower and is perfect for grilling or just hanging out. Please note: while we supply the blankets and pillows, you will need to provide your own linen, pillowcases or other bedding for the beds in the cottage you will be using. However, if needed, we can arrange for linen and towels to be provided to you through a rental service for a fee. You will also need to bring your own bath and beach towels as well as soap and shampoo. While the kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dining and silverware, you will need to bring any condiments or food that you need during your stay. There is an air conditioner upstairs in the loft and beginning in 2016 a mini split air conditioner that we have had installed for downstairs will be available to guests that stay during July and August. Also, please pay special attention to the picture of the bathroom we have provided. Even though the entire cottage was fully renovated, the bathroom is rather small and could be a problem for larger people.
Finally: Sorry, positively no pets, we only allow parking for one car during your stay and no more than 4 guests are allowed during your stay
We are a married professional couple that live and work in the Boston area, we both grew up in Boston and went to school there and have been coming to Provincetown for years. It is our favorite place in the world.
dan sardo purchased this cottage in 2012
We decided to purchase this cottage last October so that we could enjoy the areas many pleasures more often. The beaches are spectacular, the restaurants are some of the best in the country and it is truly one of the most beautiful and unique places in the world
We fell in love with this cottage the first time we saw it. The closeness to the beach, the light as it streams into the windows and skylights that changes from morning until sunset are just some of the things we love about it. We spent a lot of time and effort restoring the knotty pine walls and the rest of the interior to the point we think that it is just perfect and hope you feel the same if you choose to rent it for a week.
The week in the cottage is superb, inside and out. I think I'll vacation after Labor Day from now on, as long as I can stay here. The days are mild and dry, nights are cool, and there are no mosquitos.
The cottage is very cozy, very clean, and well-appointed. With the minor exception of a beach umbrella, there is nothing wanted during the stay that cannot be accessed. What impresses me upon entering the cottage is the abundance of natural light and how inviting the cottage is to relax, feel at ease, and create while inside (as a quilter). There is NOT a hint of mustiness as is (naturally) common on the Cape. With the three skylights open, and with all the windows, the air flow in the cottage is soothing and maintains a comfortable temperature day and night. A/C is available.
All amenities listed are present and accounted for in every room. The kitchen is well stocked, there are ample pillows, blankets, and storage in both bedrooms, beds are firm. Couch, rocking chair, and other living room chairs are comfortable and in good shape. The living room is easy to relax and gather in. The kitchen is easy to cook in. The cottage has ample room for myself for the week and during the few days midweek shared with family.
The back yard is like a peaceful bird sanctuary with the trees, flowers, chimes (I counted 8), stained glass, and more-than-adequate fencing that maintains very decent privacy from the semi-busy road. There is minor traffic noise but nothing that forces me inside when I want to be out. Every meal is enjoyed outside, and family and I relax around the outdoor sitting area.
Another highlight is the outdoor shower - again very clean, super-sized, private. The indoor shower is more than adequate.
The beach is a 5 minute walk. The P-town area is very bike-friendly with access to all bike paths (dunes, CCRT) from the cottage. There is a bike-shuttle in town that transports down to the CCRT in Wellfleet, providing easy bike-access to other Cape towns and beaches. The shuttle to and from town stops right outside. I hardly need the car.
The cottage community is very quiet. The neighbors are very friendly.
The owner responds immediately in nearly every correspondence (email, text), is a pleasure to deal with, and is very helpful and approachable. I look forward to next year!
We spent a week at this charming and well-appointed cottage on the outskirts of Provincetown. It had a lovely backyard with BBQ and an outdoor shower which was excellent to have on returns from the beach. We were met by our hosts on our arrival who provided us with a helpful introduction to the home. The cottage is located on a small compound near a local beach on the edge of the town as one enters Truro so we used bikes everyday to get into Provincetown (about 10-15 minutes one way) and to get to the beaches. The local shuttle bus conveniently stops outside the cottage and is only $2 a ride. Although route 6 is right next door, the backyard was well shielded by greenery and we did not hear undo noise in the evenings in the house. Overall, for those who wish to balance the energy of P'town with quieter times in a homey environment, we could not have asked for anything better.
We loved staying at this clean, well-organized cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated and has all the amenities you could need. We loved the private outdoor patio, perfect for breakfast and afternoon reading, and the outdoor shower. The location is great, a quick shuttle ride into Provincetown! Dan was very pleasant to deal with. We would highly recommend it!
I stayed here for a week with my girlfriend and we couldn't have asked for a better stay. The cottage lies just over the provincetown/truro border with only a short walk to the beach. While downtown is two miles away, a very affordable shuttle is available every 30 minutes during the summer months. This is especially important if you want to enjoy provincetown without the hassle of parking/driving in the downtown area. Nevertheless, some of the most beautiful beaches on the cape are only a short drive away at the national seashore. After enjoying the day, it was especially relaxing to return to the cottage with full cooking amenities and a beautiful patio. What definitely sold us was the backyard equipped with a propane grill, patio furniture, an outdoor shower, and privacy. We ate every meal outside and would definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends.
Cozy, quiet, clean, great location. Owner is very cordial and helpful..Close to restaurants and shops, but far enough away to avoid traffic. Well equipped kitchen. Short walk to the beach. I would love to go back!
We had a wonderful stay at your cottage. The weather was great so we did enjoyed the big outdoor shower. We had breakfast and dinner every day on the nice patio and cocktail in the garden among flowers. The place was clean, well equiped. Both air conditionner were welcome. The location was quiet most of the time except for some trucks passing by. Dan welcomed us at our arrival and was nice enough to drive us to the garage because we had a problem with the car.
Bayberry Bend cottage is in a quite part of Ptown known as the East End about 2/10's of a mile on the Truro border.
