Bonnie's grandparents homesteaded the ranch in 1908. It has remained in the family for over a hundred years and still operates as a cattle ranch. Bonnie and I returned to the Black Hills from Denver in the late 90's and decided that this is where we want to stay. We look forward to sharing this beautiful spot in the Hills and making new friends as we do so.
Dick and Bonnie Miller purchased this house in 2010
Secluded working ranch but centrally located and convenient to Custer State Park (1 mile) Mount Rushmore (15 miles), Crazy Horse (25 miles) Badlands (60 Miles) and many more popular destinations
Great location for all Black Hills activities. Quiet, amazing stars, comfortable house. Bonnie and Dick were like old friends who were sharing their world with us. Nothing but the best to say about the surroundings. Be sure to see the lighting ceremony at Mt. Rushmore. Enjoyed everything about the house and location and the area.
We stayed at Bonnie and Dick's house over Labor Day weekend. The location was perfect: Really enjoyed the solitude and scenery! The Grandchildren found lots to explore outside and we were very comfortable with everything in the house. Thank you to our hosts for a Great Vacation!
We just returned home from a great vacation in the Black Hills! My husband, kids and grandkids stayed at Dick and Bonnie's ranch and had a wonderful time! Their home is large, very comfortable and has all the amenities you need. There was nine of us (5 adults, 4 kids) and we had plenty of room to spread out and explore the grounds. The kids loved playing outside, and taking long walks along the lane. There were lots of "baby cows" which the kids loved seeing! Two friendly dogs, Tommy and Princess, accompanied the kids on a lot of their walks and adventures. This is just a great place to relax after busy days of sightseeing and activities! We enjoyed Bonnie's delicious rhubarb/berry jam, and they also provided 2 park passes to use, which was nice. If your family is looking for a comfortable, secluded vacation rental away from all the crowds (the nearest grocery store is about a half an hour away) this is the place to be! Thanks Dick and Bonnie!
This home was wonderful to explore the natural beauty of Black Hills and the surrounding areas. We had 2 families stay with a total of 11 and it was comfortable. The kids enjoyed morning time with Tommy and we all enjoyed Bonnie's jam! Very lovely hosts!
Our two families totaling seven people loved the Miller's ranch. Dick and Bonnie were very helpful with any questions we had. We enjoyed having such a wonderful place to unwind after exploring all the places surrounding their home. When we arrived the house was spotless and their was 2 park passes to Custer State Park to use while we were there. The home had everything we needed. We loved exploring the ranch and finding all kinds of treasures. Bonnie also had a special surprise of rhubarb and berry jam. I have to say I brought what was left home all the way across the country. You would not go wrong to rent this lovely home on a ranch.
Our family of 12 (grandparents, parents, and children) spent 4 days at the Miller’s ranch. You could not ask for better hosts than Dick and Bonnie. They were very kind and so helpful. Bonnie’s homemade rhubarb/berry jam and 2 park passes were waiting for us when we arrived. What a nice surprise. Their home, which was spotless and very well stocked is on beautiful property. We enjoyed early morning walks down their long and scenic lane. We spent the days out and about, so it was nice to relax on a secluded deck in the evenings while the kids played catch or threw footballs in the yard. We were fairly loud some nights, but the Millers assured us that the sound of kids playing and laughing is always welcome. It is a 30 minute or more drive to Custer City, Hill City or Keystone so if you like to “pop” into town frequently you need to keep the drive in mind. We totally enjoyed our time at the ranch and highly recommend this property.
