Sited among the trees on the eastern shore of Lake Pauline, the first floor of this waterfront home has an entryway (mudroom), an open kitchen-dining area with sliders onto a deck facing the lake, a living room with a fireplace/woodstove and a cathedral ceiling, two bedrooms and a full bathroom with a tub. Upstairs is a comfortable open loft bedroom, second bath with a shower, a laundry area with a washer and dryer and a nook with a futon/love-seat. Built as a year-round camp in 1972, this cottage was extensively renovated in 2006, including all new appliances, granite-topped kitchen counters, tile bathrooms, hardwood floors in the kitchen-dining area and carpet throughout the rest. The major systems (electric, plumbing, heating, well and septic) have all been updated too, providing that elusive balance between rustic charm and care-free reliability.
This house is the perfect summer getaway and Winter haven for Skiers. Please be our guest!

My family and I have fallen in love with everything this state has to offer and purchased this cottage in 2013.

Living a few hours north of Lake Pauline, I stumbled across this area simply by chance a few years back. I wanted to take a last minute vacation with my family during the July 4th weekend and ended up exploring this portion of Vermont. We all had an excellent time on Lake Pauline, and we knew right away that we wanted to own a home that was close to top notch ski resorts in the winter, and lakefront for the summer months. We could not have found a more perfect combination for year round relaxation.
This cottage has everything you need. It sits directly on 165 feet of lakefront property surrounded by 1 acre of private and peaceful land. It is approximately 2 miles from Okemo, and 15 miles from Killington. The town of Ludlow is home to various restaurants, bars, and plenty to do. There is literally something here for everyone.
Had a great time celebrating New Years at this cozy cabin with my friends. It's got a nice, cozy feel without being too small. We comfortably slept 8 people without feeling cramped. The kitchen was excellent for cooking breakfasts before heading out to the slopes and making snacks for hanging out at night. The wood stove/fireplace was a great bonus and the house has a wood shed just a few steps outside which is fully stocked.
I would absolutely recommend this place for a group of friends or a family. Already thinking of going back in the summer!
We had a great week staying here. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The house was stocked with toilet paper and paper towels which was a nice bonus! The location was excellent for skiing out of Jackson gore, as it only took about 10 minutes tops! We had a decent amount of snowfall and the driveway and road were plowed in a timely manner. I imagine this house would be great in the summer as well! Rob was quick to respond when we had questions. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend the house for vacation!
The modern indoor space, combined with the sprawling, flat outdoor space make this location an amazing find. We had perfect August weather, spent kayaking, canoeing, fishing and catching some rays. The wide open yard was perfect for a few rounds of kanjam, and the fire pit makes for a perfect close to a busy day. Ludlow is a cute town, and we had family split off to check out local antique shops, while others spent the day on the water. The rental is 5 minutes away from restaurants and shopping, making it a great 'home-base' for a vacation. Rob was a delight to work with, and was very responsive and accommodating across all communications. There is a road across from the dock, but you quickly learn to ignore it and focus on all the property has to offer. If you have a large family we'd suggest bringing up an extra kayak!
Rob's place was awesome, very clean and comfortable. We loved the huge yard with the nice fire pit as well as using the canoe and kayak. Rob was very quick with addressing any questions we had and was a pleasure to deal with. Would definitely reccommend to friends and family.
My family and I spent 5 nights at this home on the lake and really enjoyed ourselves. The home was plenty big enough for five adults and one teenager. We enjoyed using the kayak and canoe to fish and explore other parts of the lake.
The home's location gave us easy access to other towns in Vermont as well as the ski resorts - most of the ski resorts have summer activities.
We would definitely recommend this rental property for anyone looking to get away and relax!!
If you're looking to enjoy the great outdoors with the convenience of everything in your backyard, this is the place to go!
Our family of 5 plus our dog stayed for 3 nights. Our days were filled with hiking, kayaking/canoeing, fishing, swimming and relaxing, followed by our nights cozied up by the fire pit roasting s'mores.
The house is very clean and welcoming. The owner Rob, goes above and beyond to accommodate everything you may need so you can thoroughly relax and enjoy yourself during your visit. So many great memories made here, can't wait to come back next summer!
