Lovely apartment in a great neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

This 2-bedroom apartment was clean, well-provisioned, extremely comfortable, and in a wonderful, walkable neighborhood, with many restaurants and shops. It even included a parking spot, which was very convenient. Ed is an extremely gracious and accommodating host. Highly recommended!

The best we've stayed in Portland!

  • 5 of 5

We were impressed walking in the door. A really nice house with everything one might need. A/C, fans, comfortable beds, great bathroom, patios/porches, lots of room, quiet, even a printer that we were able to use to print our boarding passes to go home. Having a designated driveway is a great extra since street parking in most Portland neighborhoods is very tight.

This is the 4th or 5th vacation rental we've stayed in Portland and the first I can say we really loved and will want to come back to. We enjoyed our stay very much and will look forward to returning.

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We were super pleased with Ed's place. It's charming, roomy, comfortable and best of all it was in a fantastic part of town. Pretty much everything was walkable and if not lightrail is closeby. Fantastic and highly recommended.

We came from Arizona in August so one of our key goals was to get out of the heat. Portland weather was wonderful and nights were cool. The only slight improvement I would suggest would be to make it so more windows can open and let fresh cool night air in.

Great place and location

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful apartment. Rooms were a good size. Ed was super helpful. Excellent communicator. We exchanged many correspondences before the visit. There was an unexpected heat wave during the first part of the visit and Ed suggested some cooler activities which we followed and got to enjoy the area despite the heat. (Like visiting the Japanese gardens and the air conditioned museum which had some lovely exhibitions) and driving to Mount Hood and the Gorge area which because of their elevation, were indeed cooler.

He was there to meet us when we arrived and gave us a tour of the apt and made suggestions of places to buy food and restaurants. Lots of printed information in the office area. Nice kitchen area, we ate breakfasts there and lots of snacks. Also nice small deck to hang out on. Each of the 2 bedrooms and the living room had portable air conditioners which we needed during the heat wave. They all worked well, thank goodness.

The place definitely has character which added to the overall good time we had in Portland.

Beds were very comfortable. When we had minor maintenance issues, (one of the Co2 alarms was beeping due to a old battery) Ed came right over and replaced the battery.

Provided parking space next to the house was small but very welcome and not a problem since our car rental was quite small. People in the 2nd bedroom did report hearing the people above them at times, but I think that's going to happen in any apartment. This was very sporadic and did not affect their sleep.

Wonderful area with lots of very good restaurants and convenient stores like a Trader Joes and a fabulous bakery Ken's artisan..... not that far away. Very walkable area with other interesting stores, one "indy" movie theater, and an easy walk to the Japanese and Rose gardens. We used a street trolley close by to get to the downtown area. Easy!

All in all we had a wonderful experience and Ed went out of his way to make it so.

Highly recommended!!
