Cedar Creek Cabin...Newly remodeled! 2 acres with a hot tub!!

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

Minimum Stay
3 - 7 nights

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7-9)

Cedar Creek Cabin is where your vacation begins. Relax and take a deep, calming breath out on the private deck underneath soaring pine trees with views of the wilderness. Spread out upon two acres is our cabin, hot tub and creekbed. There is plenty of room for exploring and enjoying the outside.

Our cabin is located in the Cedar Creek Subdivision next to the Lincoln National Forest. We are only 2 miles from the town of Ruidoso and all it has to offer; shopping, restaurants, and amenities. The base of Sierra Blanca Mountain, the home of Ski Apache, is minutes from our cabin.

Our home has just been remodeled with a brand new kitchen, new flooring and carpet throughout, and we moved the stairs to create a larger, more open eating area and den!

The first thing you notice when you walk into the cabin are the large windows that give you the feeling of being in the trees. A den with a wood burning fireplace and a large flat screen TV await you. There are two bedrooms downstairs. One bedroom has a queen sized bed and the other has a twin bunk bed plus a single twin bed. Both rooms have TVs and DVD players, roomy closets and dressers. Next to the downstairs bedrooms is the bathroom with a shower and bathtub.

The upstairs holds the large master bedroom with a king sized bed with a large flat screen TV. There is plenty of storage for your things in a full sized closet and large dresser. A trunk at the end of the bed holds extra blankets and quilts. There is also a separate area upstairs with a twin over full bunk bed. This area has it's own TV too. The master bathroom has been redone with beautiful tile and vanity and has a garden tub and large walk in shower. The shower has a neat window that opens too.

Out of the upstairs sliding glass doors, leads to the back deck which has a private 6 person hot tub. There is rope lighting around the deck. The stars are beautiful from the hot tub at night!

The utility room has a full size washer and dryer. The brand new kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook with. The large front deck wraps around to the front door and has a propane gas grill. It a perfect place to sit, relax and enjoy the outside.

Even though we would all like to get away from work and our busy lives, we have made our cabin a place where you can do both. WIFI is available so you can check your email and the internet while you stay. Each room has a TV with Broadband Cable. The den has a large flat screen SMART TV, you can log into your Netflix or Hulu account. You can also access YouTube from the TV too.

Ruidoso is a fabulous town with so much to do. Cedar Creek Cabin is the place for you to stay and visit time and time again!

About Amy Patton

We live in Cedar Hill, TX, about 20 minutes from Dallas. Our family enjoys going on family vacations together. My husband had a friend who owned a family home in Ruidoso and he started checking into the town. We visited several times and decided that it would make a great family vacation destination. He skiied a lot as a child with his family and has fond memories of this. We wanted the same for our family.

Amy Patton purchased this house in 2011

Why Amy Patton chose New Mexico

Ruidoso is an 9 hour drive from Dallas. It is a close enough drive that you can do it in one day. We fell in love with the town of Ruidoso and all of it's charm. The town itself is really cool and has a lot to offer; great shops, great restaurants, the casino and horse track, and many other things to do. We brought our children here to ski for the first time this winter. What great memories we made!

What makes this house unique

Cedar Creek Cabin is an awesome place to stay. It gives you the feeling of being close to the wilderness, yet you know that you are only 2 miles from town. The soaring pine trees are one of my favorite things. My children love to go and explore on the two acres. The creek that runs infront of the house offers many exciting discoveries. The house has a wonderful deck that you can sit out on and watch the wildlife go by and see the kids play.

Great place for a family vacation!

We had a great time in Ruidoso! It snowed while we were there making our stay be like being in a magical white wonderland. The house was very homey and had all we needed for our stay.

Great cabin and we enjoyed our stay!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin is cozy and it was more than we needed for a family of four. The kitchen and master bathroom were remodeled so it's nice to be in a clean new bathroom. The hot tub is always a plus and a treat!! One observation that is a quick fix, we like to watch movies when we go to Ruidoso so we typically rent movies every night of our stay I would have liked a DVD player in the main family room. Other than that, we will keep this property as one of our top rental places in Ruidoso.

Cozy cabin that is family oriented and relaxation heaven!

  • 5 of 5

Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Away from the noise of town, but close enough for a quick trip to the store or shopping. Everyday, deer would walk through the lot, and we even had a nice surprise of 3 bull Elk passing just feet away from the front balcony. Everything functioned properly, cabin was clean and well kept, homey, and inviting. We will be back!

Moths, Moths and more Moths.

  • 1 of 5

Beautiful Cabin, excellent location. We did have a very big problem with Moths, which I did tell Amy (The Owner about numerous times). From walking through the Cabin door, we spend our first 25 minutes cleaning Dead and live Moths from the Front Room, Kitchen, downstairs Bathroom and 2 Bedrooms, upstairs Master Bedroom and Bathroom. There must have been around 10 dead and 15 alive Moths the first day. Amy did tell me that the Cabin had just been cleaned but for that many dead Moths to be there, I did'nt think so. Then when the sun went and we started using the interior lights thats when the Moths started flying all over the Cabin. Maybe another 10 that night. The 2nd day started with another 10 Moths in the morning and around 8 to 15 through the day and night. 3rd day and another 8 to 10 in the morning and 5 to 10 in the evening, last morning we had another 8 before we left the rental. Amy was telling me that they have never experienced this problem before and it maybe that the cleaner had left the windows and doors open. I don't think that we would have had as many Moths if we did a camping trip there. I think that there was an infestation problem in the cabin and did not have a clue how they were getting in. I even covered every room floor vent and this still did'nt solve the problem. Hopefully the infestation problem is solved before the property is rented again, good luck. Did'nt spoil our trip as we got used to cleaning them up everyday, cooking with them and showering with them, would have been nice to have been offered a discount for the Moth inconvernience, but was not offered. There are many places to rent in Ruidoso, which I mentioned to Amy, just wish we had rented another cabin as we did'nt really feel clean with the amount of Moths, especially whilst cooking. Must admit that this was definatly a vacation to remember, and never forget.. Good luck Amy with the problem that your guys have....

Owner's Response: We have owned and rented out our home for over 4 years now and have never had any problems with moths. I asked a local about the moths and they said that moths were unusually bad this year. I have had our home sprayed to take care of the problem. I have a very good house keeper who cleaned the home just before your arrival. I know the house was cleaned because we had people renting it right before you arrived. I am sorry that the moths were a problem while you were there. We take great pride in providing a comfortable and clean home for our guests. Our past reviews show that this is the case. I hope that you can give Ruidoso another chance. It is a wonderful town to visit.

Great cabin in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was great! Everything was clean and in great condition! We had a lot of wildlife come right up to the house. The cabin is only a few miles from downtown, but just far enough to feel like you're secluded in the mountains. Contacting the owners was always easy and they gave great directions to get there even late at night.
