This spacious two story home nestled in a quiet historic neighborhood at the base of Diamond Head. The second story has a long lanai with views of Diamond Head. This home has 3 bedrooms with a study that can also be used as a bedroom. All bedrooms are air conditioned. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and an attached study that has a queen sized bed. Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed and bedroom 3 has a full size bed. The backyard has a weber gas grill and an outdoor dining set. The downstairs has two large living rooms, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen breakfast nook, and laundry area. Everything you need to feel right at home. White sand beaches are just a short walk from the house with great swimming. We have mask and snorkels, body boards, a large cooler and beach chairs all for your convenience at the house. Waikiki is a nice leisurely stroll along the ocean and beautiful Kapiolani park. This home is close enough to all the action Waikiki has to offer but also far enough away from it all when you just want to relax. The location is very central in terms of getting around the island and sightseeing as well.

A great house to stay close to Waikiki

We have had this trip organised (from London, UK) for over 10 months now and had organised through Maggie to stay for 8 nights for our first trip to Hawaii. Maggie was excellent to deal with the entire way through the process and was extremely helpful. We had 6 adults and an 18 month old toddler. This place was perfect. A very spacious ground floor for the toddler to run around, small outside space where we made very good use of the BBQ. Upstairs there is plenty of room with bedrooms, aircon, storage and excellent shower. All beach towels, bath towels, beach equipment (body boards, snorkels, flippers, sand toys, coolers, chairs...you name it!) are included which makes packing so much easier.

The location is perfect. You are close enough to the madness of Waikiki beach, but far enough away that you feel like you are a local staying in a lovely neighbourhood, a fantastic place to come 'home' to each night. The nearby beach parks are private and attended by the locals.

I would definitely be recommending this house to other people and would like to thank Tim & Maggie for making our stay and ultimately our trip to Hawaii so memorable.

Gorgeous home, plenty of space!

Very nice home! Within walking distance to everything! Stayed here with 7 people including a 3 year old and had plenty of space for each of us to sprawl out after a hard days touring, or shopping, or beaching! ;-) Maggie was great to work with online/long distance ( we are from Michigan, New York , and Nebraska!) and was very accommodating with any requests/concerns we might have had! Thank you again Maggie for helping our family with our trip of a lifetime and memories of Hawaii!

Great home in a great location

We take an extended family vacation to Hawaii every year: 2 grandparents, 2 daughters, 2 son-in-laws, and 2 grandchildren. This home was great for us, with plenty of room and easy access to three public beaches, jogging over the base of Diamond Head and Kapiolani Park, and we had a temporary membership to the Outrigger Canoe Club so the location was perfect.

The house doesn't have much curb appeal, and no view, unless you are like us and enjoyed the view through the sliding doors into the lovely secluded backyard. The rest of the house was great, plenty of room, bathrooms, towels, kitchen will equipped, and they had bogey boards, beach chairs, noodles, and beach towels.

Overall - fantastic. I would return anytime we want to stay in Honolulu again.

a wonderful place to stay in Honolulu for a family

I feel really lucky about my decision to book this lovely house instead of 3 hotel rooms on Wikiki beach. The house located not far from the city centre (5 mins drive), there is a lovely small beach in walking distance. The house itself is spacious and clean. The kitchen is very well equipped. There're 3 bedrooms in the second floor, but the grandpa prefer the bed located in the first floor which is closer to the wash room. So the house can easily accommodate 10 person. There is a large dinner table outside the kitchen, so after a day's play, my kids can finish their homework on the kitchen table. We love the house, we will stay here again if we visit Honolulu again, no more tiny hotel room again!

Real Hawaiiana

We were on Oahu for the holidays and stayed at Maggie & Tim's rental with our two daughters (high school & college age) and my brother-in-law and his wife. Plenty of space. Worked great for all. My brother-in-law and his wife enjoy surfing and would start every morning at 6:30 AM with an early morning surf on a beautiful surf break [Tongg’s I believe] right off Diamond Head that is literally a one minute walk from the house down a 100’ public path to the launch spot. The house is super convenient if like to surf. Can store your surf board in the back yard, wash off in the back, hang dry your wetsuit, and then have breakfast.

It is a beautiful home in a secluded and quiet neighborhood. You can open up the sliding glass doors and large horizontal sliding windows and enjoy the trade winds while you are in the house. Totally relaxing. Gives you that feeling of what residential Waikiki must have been like before it was overbuilt by houses shoe-horned in next to each other with zero lot-lines.

We enjoyed visiting the Outrigger Canoe Club, Kaimana Beach and jogging around Kapiolani Park and Diamond Head most days. Very little need for a car with so much close by via walking.

Kitchen is nicely stalked and we cooked breakfast and dinner at home on several occasions.

This is our second stay here and really enjoy this property. Maggie and Tim are very responsive to any requests we may have and truly went the extra mile to help make our stay enjoyable and relaxing.

Great Property Close to Waikiki

We were in Oahu for my sister's wedding and stayed at Maggie & Tim's rental with two other couples, my husband and our 6-month old. There was more than enough space that we never felt like we were on top of each other. Beautiful, well-cared for property, that is only a 10-15 minute walk to Waikiki and the commotion that it entails - it was in a quiet neighborhood, but close enough to the beach/restaurants/hotels on Waikiki to not feel too secluded. The property was almost better stocked than our home! Everything you need to cook at "home", but also whatever you need to enjoy a day at the beach. Plenty of bath towels to go around - and beach towels too. Nice secluded outdoor area in back to BBQ at your leisure. Also DVDs to watch on the off chance of a rainy day or to wind down at night. The toiletries on the property were high quality too - not the scratch paper-type toilet paper or kleenex you often get at a hotel - very nice touch! The owners checked in with us to ensure we had everything we needed and were more than willing to answer questions anytime we had them. Definitely recommend staying here! We will next time we're in Oahu.

Throughout the years, Waikiki has become the tourist mecca of the Pacific. Located on the South Shore of Oahu, Waikiki and its white sand beaches were home to the legendary surfer, Duke Kahanamoku. Approximately 1.5 miles long, this famous stretch of beach is perfect for both water enthusiasts and beach goers alike. Over the years, the busy streets of Waikiki have become filled with a variety of luxury apartments, hotels and world-class shopping locations; some of which include, the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, Luxury Row and the DFS Galleria. Located along the iconic Waikiki Beach, Kalakaua Avenue can be considered to be the ”Main Strip”: Home to high-end hotels such as the Moana Surfrider, along with world class shopping opportunities such as the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, and DFS Galleria.
