We loved it! And would come back again in the future!
My family loved it! Spacious, convienent to everywhere we needed to go, next to the beach, comfy beds, clean and very nicely decorated. Maggie was very helpful in providing useful information for us during our stay. Thank you!
Lovely, spacious, tasteful home.
This is a fantastic house (older, with character) situated in a nice neighborhood. We came from the mainland for a wedding (7 adults). It easily accommodated us all, even when some of the other relatives came over for dinner! Everything about the house is tastefully done. The walls are decorated with the owner's paintings of tropical scenes which adds to the atmosphere. There's a very pleasant, small backyard/patio area which the house opens up to through sliding wooden doors, making the house even more spacious. There is air conditioning in the bedrooms, but the trade winds and ceiling fans keep the house quite comfortable with all the windows and doors open. AND you can walk to more than half a dozen beaches from the house in 2-5 min. There is off-street parking, although it is tight for a mini-van! Maggie & Tim were pleasant and accommodating when processing the rental agreement and checking out. We highly recommend this house!
A great house to stay close to Waikiki
We have had this trip organised (from London, UK) for over 10 months now and had organised through Maggie to stay for 8 nights for our first trip to Hawaii. Maggie was excellent to deal with the entire way through the process and was extremely helpful. We had 6 adults and an 18 month old toddler. This place was perfect. A very spacious ground floor for the toddler to run around, small outside space where we made very good use of the BBQ. Upstairs there is plenty of room with bedrooms, aircon, storage and excellent shower. All beach towels, bath towels, beach equipment (body boards, snorkels, flippers, sand toys, coolers, chairs...you name it!) are included which makes packing so much easier.
The location is perfect. You are close enough to the madness of Waikiki beach, but far enough away that you feel like you are a local staying in a lovely neighbourhood, a fantastic place to come 'home' to each night. The nearby beach parks are private and attended by the locals.
I would definitely be recommending this house to other people and would like to thank Tim & Maggie for making our stay and ultimately our trip to Hawaii so memorable.
Gorgeous home, plenty of space!
Very nice home! Within walking distance to everything! Stayed here with 7 people including a 3 year old and had plenty of space for each of us to sprawl out after a hard days touring, or shopping, or beaching! ;-) Maggie was great to work with online/long distance ( we are from Michigan, New York , and Nebraska!) and was very accommodating with any requests/concerns we might have had! Thank you again Maggie for helping our family with our trip of a lifetime and memories of Hawaii!
Great home in a great location
We take an extended family vacation to Hawaii every year: 2 grandparents, 2 daughters, 2 son-in-laws, and 2 grandchildren. This home was great for us, with plenty of room and easy access to three public beaches, jogging over the base of Diamond Head and Kapiolani Park, and we had a temporary membership to the Outrigger Canoe Club so the location was perfect.
The house doesn't have much curb appeal, and no view, unless you are like us and enjoyed the view through the sliding doors into the lovely secluded backyard. The rest of the house was great, plenty of room, bathrooms, towels, kitchen will equipped, and they had bogey boards, beach chairs, noodles, and beach towels.
Overall - fantastic. I would return anytime we want to stay in Honolulu again.
a wonderful place to stay in Honolulu for a family
I feel really lucky about my decision to book this lovely house instead of 3 hotel rooms on Wikiki beach. The house located not far from the city centre (5 mins drive), there is a lovely small beach in walking distance. The house itself is spacious and clean. The kitchen is very well equipped. There're 3 bedrooms in the second floor, but the grandpa prefer the bed located in the first floor which is closer to the wash room. So the house can easily accommodate 10 person. There is a large dinner table outside the kitchen, so after a day's play, my kids can finish their homework on the kitchen table. We love the house, we will stay here again if we visit Honolulu again, no more tiny hotel room again!
Throughout the years, Waikiki has become the tourist mecca of the Pacific. Located on the South Shore of Oahu, Waikiki and its white sand beaches were home to the legendary surfer, Duke Kahanamoku. Approximately 1.5 miles long, this famous stretch of beach is perfect for both water enthusiasts and beach goers alike. Over the years, the busy streets of Waikiki have become filled with a variety of luxury apartments, hotels and world-class shopping locations; some of which include, the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, Luxury Row and the DFS Galleria. Located along the iconic Waikiki Beach, Kalakaua Avenue can be considered to be the ”Main Strip”: Home to high-end hotels such as the Moana Surfrider, along with world class shopping opportunities such as the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center, and DFS Galleria. In contrast, the less glamorous Kuhio Avenue is comparable to Las Vegas’s “Old Town”: Home to the Waikiki Trade Center and some of the neighborhood’s more colorful and long standing restaurants, and nightlife. Besides the hundreds of dining and shopping opportunities, there are also a number of attractions and activities that the whole family can enjoy. At the east end, is the Honolulu Zoo and Waikiki Aquarium, where visitors can visit and learn about some of Hawaii’s native land and aquatic residents. On the west end, families will also enjoy the Hawaii Army Museum at Fort DeRussy, along with nightly hula shows, weekly Friday night fireworks at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and movie nights at “Sunset on the Beach“. Hawaii’s signature landmark, Diamond Head Crater was once known by the Hawaiians as “Le’ahi” or “brow of the tuna”. Once filled with swamps and agricultural lands, the slopes of Diamond Head have transformed over the years to become one of Oahu’s premiere luxury neighborhoods on the south shore of the island. Home to amazing ocean front views, awesome surf breaks, beautiful hiking trails and secret beach pathways, it is no wonder why Diamond Head has become sought after by a number of celebrities and world elites. Nestled between Waikiki and Kahala, the Diamond Head area, serves as a beautiful transition from the crowded streets of Honolulu to the quiet urban sprawl of Hawaii Kai and east Oahu. With multiple scenic areas, visitors can take in the beautiful south shore scenery and maybe even the occasional whale sighting during the winter months. Grab a surfboard and catch a wave at Diamond Head Cliffs or spend a relaxing day on the beach soaking in the warm Hawaiian Sun. Diamond Head Road is also perfect for those looking for a quick scenic run or leisurely stroll. And be sure to check out the historic Diamond Head Crater for breathtaking views from Honolulu to Koko Head.
