'What a great house, comfortable and Private' This is what I keep hearing from our guests. Approx 1300 sq ft of living space plus the decks and screened porch, great for a couple or 2. It is all on one level which guest love, easy one flight of stairs.
'Casa' for short has a great view, there is nothing built between you and the beach. There are only 6 other homes in the community making it very quiet and peaceful. It is only a 1000 foot walk to the beach, most of it over a wooden walk-over.
Newly built and completed in late 2010. - 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths and professionally decorated by Melissa of Joseph's Cottage. She has decorated some of the most upscale homes around. Casa is nice, comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked. The laundry area is right off of the kitchen for easy access. The decks are very nice with a heightened sundeck and a furnished screen porch area. Underneath you will find a private hot/cold shower and fish cleaning station.
Casa has 3 bedrooms. - 1 king master with private bath, 1 queen and the 3rd bedroom has a full/full bunk bed that shares a bath in the hallway. All bedrooms have their own TV with built in DVD players as well as the TV in the living area.
So if you're looking for a newer and very modern beach home with lots of privacy and good views for your beach vacation then Casablanca is an excellent value for your vacation rental home dollars.
Bed and bath linens are included for 2 people. It's only a small charge for additional people.
Currently my wife and I live in Roswell Georgia, and we purchased 'Casablanca' last year to retire later on, since our dream for retirement is to be beach bums, fish, boat, and enjoy this beautiful part of Florida.
My wife grew up in Hull Mas, and has always missed this unique sliver of land near Hingham, which is right of the coast south of Boston. I am a native of Havana, and have always missed the warmth and proximity to the beautifull beaches in Havana. So when we planned to retire we found the Cape 'Just Perfect' as Cape San Blas is similar to Hull in length and width but much-much warmer just like the beaches in Havana.
Vince Bishop purchased this house in 2012
Casablanca is conveniently located, it is a very cozy beach cabin. The property is located in Cape San Blas, which is a Pet friendly beach away from all tourism. The area is crime free, and family oriented.
Relaxation at its best. You get there and in about less than 1 hour realize what life is all about. The sound of the ocean, and the quiet setting is incredible. You meet people at the beach and constantly make new friends. No one is afraid to talk to each other.
The Cape is connected to the Florida peninsula by a sliver of land, Cape San Blas is home to St. Joseph Peninsula State Park, named the best beach in America (2002) by Dr. Stephen P. Leatherman (a.k.a. Dr. Beach). Cape San Blas, located near Port St. Joe along the Florida Panhandle’s Emerald Coast, is truly a vacation paradise. Here, you’ll find miles of uncrowded, pristine, white sand beaches. Among the other attractions: Pet-friendly vacation rentals, fishing, kayaking and boating, family-owned restaurants serving fresh Florida seafood, and the famed Cape San Blas lighthouse. Frequently rebuilt and relocated in response to eroding seas, the 101-foot-tall, 131-step lighthouse and two accompanying buildings may be moved to Port St. Joe. But you still can see the top of the tower from Cape San Blas Road and inventive visitors who don't mind walking a mile or so along the beach can get a good look.

Incredible, so much relaxation and beauty in this area. The home was perfect, very conveniently located to town and to the end of the Cape. We fished, and walked the beach. The view to the ocean was very relaxing from the deck.
This was our second year to have a family beach trip for an entire month!! We are blessed in having this much time together--so we plan well in advance and Cape San Blas was a great adventure!! "The Forgotten Coast" will never be that to us---the memories we shared are priceless!! I anticipated being a bit bored, as there are no big towns less than an hour away--but every day was different, from investigating the Bay to Gulf fun to leisurely enjoying the small towns in our area. And the food at every restaurant/café was superb!! Port St Joe has several churches, a great Visitors Center and Lighthouse (only open on Thursdays), a unique downtown shopping area with boutiques, cafes, and coffee shop. Your main sources of supplies is a well maintained grocery, Piggly Wiggly, and a Dollar General Market--plus ACE Hardware and others...the Cape area had a local general store, souvenir store, bait shops, ice cream, donuts (get in line by 7:30am and worth the wait!)---all a short drive away. The State Park has a $6 admission for all day use---we really enjoyed snorkeling there....and the Gulf is just across the boardwalk from the Bay---very unique locations!! We also checked out several other beaches close by, for variety. The beach at the "Rocks" was a favorite for fishermen, but also perfect for water fun....the water changes colors the closer you go to the tip of the Cape.
HOMETIME: We were very impressed with Casablanca---much larger than the pictures portray....and so very comfortable!! All of the beds and linens were super, always plenty of hot water, kitchen ware plentiful--I brought a crock pot but it wasn't needed!--loved that they had Fiesta dinnerware!! Initial papertowels, toilet paper, and laundry/dishwasher detergent provided. Vince was a sweetheart to check on us the day after we arrived--and we had no need to contact him the whole month we were there. We brought our own beach toys and chairs--a wagon is provided. We used the outside grill that was provided--and the outside sink was helpful! We recommend you bring water shoes, as there are many broken shells on the beach and walking can be painful! We found a surprise bed the last week--a trundle pullout under the bunkbeds!! one minor lacking was a toilet paper holder in the hall- bath-an easy fix, Vince!! The community pool was close and perfect!! I could write more but they limit the word count! WE WERE VERY HAPPY HERE!!!-
Everything was wonderful! The house was very nice and was in a wonderful location. My family enjoyed their stay!
Casablanca gave us what we were looking for: peace and relaxation. We were somewhat disappointed with the house itself, certainly not its location, but its condition. A few examples: the house need a thorough cleaning; bedspreads and pillows are old; the sofa cover needs replacing or at least a wash; the carpets need cleaning; the deck above the screened-in porch leaks in several areas into the screened-in porch below. That aside, the agent Vince was very friendly and extremely responsive when we requested a couple of items and had a small problem with the fridge.
The photos did not portray this property properly, it was much nicer than the photos. We certainly enjoyed our stay, it was very relaxing and a short walk to the beach. Our dog loved the beach as well as the home. Centrally located, reasonably priced, very comfortable. We will stay at this home again!
We were only there a few days but well worth it. Quiet, the beach was amazing, the pool very well maintained. Comfortable home to stay in. If you are looking for a quiet retreat Casablanca offers you that opportunity to totally shut down and relax.
Sadly, we are back home, greeted by rain, rain, rain. I must have asked my husband to turn around a hundred times. This was our third year at the Cape and it recharged my family and I in a way we will never forget. Plenty of room for my husband and I, plus three teenagers, and two tiny dogs. My youngest tiny pup loved the beach. The ocean, not so much. Our other tiny pup is a senior, but he enjoyed the wrap around porch in complete safety. There was an issue with the overgrown weeds/grass and Vince took care of us right away. He was great to work with seeing we only had the one issue (I was afraid of losing one of <10 lb pups in the grass, lol). A few pointers for future renters: bring your own beach chairs, shelters, and toys. Also, bring extra storage containers for leftover food. There is a quite large beach cart to bring everything you need for a day on the beach. We fit 2 beach chairs, a large cooler, towels, an umbrella, and a tote bag on this thing, and still had room to cart back a ton of shells and driftwood. I must say this: if you do nothing else, you MUST walk down to the point of the Cape. It's about a 2.5 mile walk, one way. It's worth it. You can't bring the furbabies past the 'gate', and I suggest bringing a sturdy tote bag for the shells. And no excuses. If this middle aged, out of shape, old girl can do it, twice, so can you. Also, be aware that folks do drive on this area of the beach. However, they were all very courteous and drove slowly and carefully. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything. The was an initial roll of paper towels, toilet paper, tiny bath soaps, etc. I felt truly like a guest. The only con I have is the walk from the house to the beach. I'm terribly out of shape so it was a bit of a huff for me, fot the sand is very soft. On the plus side, Casablanca has inspired and motivated me to get back into shape. I've been home less than 36 hours, and I'm back to walking. (Yay, me, lol). Anyway, I would most definitely recommend Casablanca. The views from the observation desk are beautiful. The house was very clean and comfortable. The pool was literally 50 steps and clean. The beds were very comfortable. I really cannot say enough great things about Casablanca. BTW, I'm a South Florida native, my hubs transplanted from Cuba to Miami. We both have never seen anywhere as beautiful as the Cape.
Nearest Town is Port St Joe. There are many restaurants, and bars.
The Oyster Raw Bar is a must go, here is where the locals and families go for great shrimp, crab legs ,Oysters, they use an Honor system for Beer, where you serve your own.
