The description of the cottage matched our needs, and the location was perfect. We've never shared a rental with another couple before, and it worked very well for all of us. Having two bathrooms makes all the difference. It's a charming house in a quiet, but friendly neighborhood of similar homes. Everything inside is fresh, clean, and very well maintained.
We were busy every day and enjoyed evening strolls to the main part of town, just a few blocks away. Pacific Grove is our favorite location to stay anywhere on Monterey Bay. The Monterey Aquarium is spectacular, and the two guest passes are a welcome bonus, as you need to go more than once.
We will definitely recommend the cottage to our friends, and we hope to stay there again ourselves.
This home is a very charming turn of the century experience. Comfortable beyond words we all loved it. Taste in decoration just great. A good place to sit and talk a wonderfully quite neighborhood. But at the same time close to all the attraction of the Monterey Bay, and Carmel. We are so happy we found this home and look forward to recommending to out friends and we want to return as well.
This home was not only in a great location but beautifully appointed. We have stayed in many vacation homes the last several years and this property is at the top of our list in comfort and location. It is located just a couple blocks away from all the charm of downtown Pacific Grove's shopping and restaurant district and an additional couple of blocks from Lover's Point. The house is immaculate and very well stocked in terms of the kitchen cookware. The beds and linens are excellent and when we had questions the owner, Gary Johnson, was very very helpful and prompt. Thank you Gary for sharing your beautiful home with visitors. We will be back!

We stayed for a weekend with another couple. Everything went pretty smoothly, from the initial request and throughout our stay. Gary was super responsive, and took care of the one tiny glitch so quickly it was like it never happened. The house is adorable, with a quirky, shabby chic decor, and well provisioned. We had everything we could possibly think of needing. The beds were comfortable and everything was sparkling clean. The location was great, too, in a quiet, residential neighborhood with many historic homes, and a fairly easy walk down to the ocean. It took us a leisurely 15-20 minutes to walk to the Monterey Aquarium/Cannery Row area. We would definitely book this property again, and recommend it without reservations for anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable place to call home for a few days.
The house was as advertised and was very accommodating. Very well appointed and great for a couples get-away. Within walking distance to downtown Pacific Grove. The owners were super easy to work with and were very responsive to all requests and inquiries. Will stay again if/when my travels bring me back to Monterey.
we spent 4 wonderful days in pacific grove and we loved gary and susan's house. it was clean, conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants and cafes in town. only 4 blocks from the water and a beautiful walk to monterey. the house has a nice deck in the back, great for relaxing, reading a book. could not have asked for anything more.
