Overview

Saugatuck Cabin Rental Photos and Description

4 Bedroom, 3 Bath (SLEEPS 8); Steps From Lake Goshorn

Every day feels like Sunday! Be prepared to relax and enjoy wonderful Southwest Michigan at its best. The stone fireplace is a favorite in all seasons. Snuggle up and read, play a game or take a nap. If you must, the cozy finished basement is equipped with cable TV, game area and additional sleeping options.

We built this cabin six years ago and have loved sharing it with family and friends. It sits among a number of other cabins in an absolutely idyllic setting. Our cabin has a full length screened in porch overlooking a large private back yard. Afternoons drift into evenings without a thought or care in the world. Children while away endless hours collecting acorns, digging and immersing their childish fantasies.

Goshorn Lake has can be enjoyed on the private association owned sandy beach that rests at the bottom of our very own dune. We love to climb to the top, where you are rewarded with a wonderful vista leading over miles of sand dunes that end at the edge of Lake Michigan, and returning down to the serene surface of our private lake. This no-wake lake is only interrupted by the occasional swimmer, canoe or family of trumpet swans. There is also a community dock large enough for many to enjoy and take a dip into the warm summer waters. Bring a coctail at sunset. Canoes and kayaks are welcome. You may bring your own or rent in town.

Hidden Dunes is only minutes from downtown Saugatuck; renowned for its endless charm and ambiance - perfect for lackadaisical coffee lovers. And I hope you like ice cream - options abound! Flip-Flops and sandals are welcomed at all galleries and eateries. The black and blue burger at Phil's is best. But, don't miss the old fashioned soda fountain hidden in the back of the drug store. We are located on the bike trail and town is easily reached by bike. Bring your own or rent in town.

Our favorite destination by far is a visit to Saugatuck Beach State Park. It is welcoming in all seasons; with Winter offering some of the most amazing sights. From the entrance, a 15 minute hike through a magical dune forest comes to a surprising end at the top of a dune overlooking miles of sandy beach.

This cabin is absolutely perfect for a multiple family getaway. Our genuine 3/4 round log cabin has full modern amenities to allow enjoyment in all seasons. The autumn colors are amazing; and winter has its own special treats to offer.

Enjoy!

Why Owner chose Michigan

Why not? Perhaps one of the most perfect late summer days in history, enhanced with some delicious cocktails at the Red Dock, sprinkled with some irrational exuberance. I hope you are equally spontaneous.

Wonderful Week in Saugatuck!

  • 5 of 5

My family thoroughly enjoyed our week in Saugatuck. It was our first time to the area, and what a charming spot it is! Our cabin was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. The area was quiet, but conveniently located to shopping, restaurants, and all the sights we wanted to see. The weather was fantastic, too! Thanks for a great vacation!

Great get away

  • 4 of 5

This property was really very lovely. We met up there for my mother's retirement celebration. The accomodations were adequate for 8 of us. We put the teenagers in the basement where they enjoyed their own private space with a fire place and full bath. Loved the front and back porches! The beds upstairs were unfortunately not very comfortable and as the guest book reads the first floor bedroom is very noisy from upstairs movement and toilet flushing. These were the only draw backs from this well-maintained, well-supplied, well-located, well-priced property. The only other thing I would comment on would be the "beach" which wasn't really a beach you could do anything with. Goshorn Lake is not to be swam in (quite dirty) and the "beach" is super small. However, a kayak looked like it could be fun. There is no access anywhere else around the lake as everything else was private. That said it was a shortish drive to Lake Michigan where we enjoyed Oval Beach. Very nice.

Great cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We truly enjoyed the cabin on the lake. Even though the weather was not as warm or as dry as we would have liked, we were cozy inside. Beds were comfortable, kitchen well equipped, and the cabin made for a great site for our family vacation. The owner was very helpful in answering our pre-trip questions. Shopping and eating in Saugatuck were superb! Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Great Birthday Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at "College Fund" cabin celebrating my husband's birthday. The seven of us spent a weekend relaxing, eating, and talking in front of the fireplace. Everything was clean, comfortable and close to downtown, shops, waterfront and restaurants. Would definitely stay again!

Peace and tranquility within easy access to town

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed here 3 times: it was equally comfortable for a large group with several teenagers, multiple families as well as an intimate ladies' getaway. A terrific layout for chatting by the fire, s'mores at the outdoor firepit, breakfast or cocktails on the enclosed porch. The kids loved playing games down in the rec room downstairs (several games provided), as well as walking to the dock at night. Close drive to a forested hike to the beach... gorgeous and serene! A great place to unplug and regroup with your family and friends. Highly recommend it! The kitchen had everything one would need to prepare a meal for a crowd. The home was absolutely spotless. Don't miss the great local shopping, antiquing and of course, the mouthwatering, local cherry pies & donuts! The only thing I didn't like was leaving. Will be back for sure!
