About Scott Strohmeyer
Obviously the photo is not of Scott, the owner, Scott. I am Alison, the local contact who will greet you and answer any questions you might have. You can reach me at 207-460-6828. (texts are a great form of communication for me) I look forward to meeting you.
Why Scott Strohmeyer chose Gouldsboro
This property is not far from basic needs but secluded enough to be a real hideaway. It is a fantastic home base for exploring or the perfect place for some serious down time. Kick those feet up and watch the boats go by as you listen to the gulls and the rolling or crashing waves.
What makes this House unique
Stunning views. Privately located but close enough to local restaurants, gas station, grocery stores. Big house in good condition and the kitchen has all the equipment you need to prepare your own meals. With a fire pit and adirondack chairs gathering together at the end of a day of exploration is so relaxing.

Wonderful time with all the amenities
We had a wonderful time at the lobster lodge. The view is amazing and it had all the amenities of home. We particularly loved the upstairs private deck. Very comfortable beds and a great location.
lovely house, solid and clean...
I would definitely recommend and will keep in mind for our next stay...
If you are looking for peace and tranquility, this is the place for you
My daughter and I stayed for one week here at Lobster Lodge, and fell in love with this bright, airy, comfortable, and sun filled home the moment we walked in. It is tastefully decorated in nautical motif, and it offers every amenity you look for on vacation while also providing a complete getaway. We will miss the sounds of the surf breaking outside the windows, the stunning sunrise, and the various critters who amble by. We saw our first porcupine right here, and enjoyed porpoises at play just a short distance away.
There is lots to do both on Schoodic and in Acadia National Park. We hiked, sailed, gazed at lighthouses, and ate copious amounts of lobster in all variations. We enjoyed lunch on the Corea Wharf, dinner at Bunkers Wharf, and a meal at the Pickled Wrinkle. All delicious! We also highly recommend Thurston’s Lobster Pound in Bernard, and Beal’s Wharf in Southwest Harbor.
At the end of each active day, we were delighted to be back at Lobster Lodge.
We hope that some of the tranquility we found here will travel back home with us. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and were sad to leave.
Beauty by the shore
We stayed at Lobster Lodge for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The house setup was perfect for our family of 7 as it provided a good amount of privacy for everybody. My husband and 3 children had our own "wing" as the 3rd floor where the kids stayed is only accessible from the master bedroom on the 2nd floor. This gave my mother and brother-in-law their own rooms and we could keep the kids contained at bedtime. Everybody loved exploring the coastline and fire pits in the evening. We would definitely go back!
A peaceful retreat in a beautiful place
Our family of 6, plus 1 stayed in Lobster Lodge for a week in August. It was just lovely with an amazing view of the water where we watched the porpoise play one evening and the bunny visit daily. The house is very comfortable with a well stocked kitchen and very comfortable beds. The third floor bedrooms are only accessible by going through the master bedroom on the second floor so may be best suited to younger children although our older sons stayed up there and retired later than we did without waking us. We loved being on the quiet side of Acadia, just 10 min from the park and Winter Harbor. We rented bikes and rode all through the park, visited the education center and hiked a beautiful trail. We enjoyed taking the ferry over to Bar Harbor one day and the pretty drive on others, both about an hour. Alison is wonderful to work with and very responsive! Would definitely recommend to others and stay again!
Beautiful vacation spot!
The house was absolutely perfect. The view of the ocean was beautiful. Nice, peaceful location. Would rent it again in a heartbeat!
Prospect Harbor is located on the scenic Schoodic Peninsula, home of the 'quite' side of Acadia National Park. Schoodic Point includes an 11 mile bike/car route where the crashing surf is simply majestic. Newly added hiking and biking trails offer miles of beautiful exploring. Hiking on the carriage trails or on the meandering foot paths. Leisurely or seriously steep there is something for everyone. Within the park is the Schoodic Institute which often offers classes and retreats. There is amazing bird watching within the park and around the area where you can see Eagles, Great Blue Herons, Osprey, Egrets and more. You might catch the playful river otters making their way from shore to stream at dusk or dawn. You can also watch the basking harbor seals at low tide on a sunny day. Prospect Harbor is about one hour's drive from Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island home of Acadia National Park and where you will find fine dining and a plethora of shopping options. We are 23 miles from Ellsworth and about an hour and 15 minute drive from the Bangor Airport. In Birch Harbor there is a convenience store where you can get some grocery items and they are also a liquor store and the only gas station on the peninsula. There is also a very lively pub called "The Pickled Wrinkle" where you can get pub fare and see some lively local bands. Winter Harbor has an independent grocery store Winter Harbor Food Service which has a larger selection of food items and carries local goods. Both our local food stores close earlier than many are used to so pay attention to closing times! J.M. Gerrishes in Winter Harbor is a breakfast/lunch/ice cream parlor open daily in July/August (check hours for other times on their FB page). There is also Chase's Restaurant, The Fisherman's Galley, and The Salt Box. Schoodic Arts for All is located in several building in Winter Harbor and they offer a host of lively programs and showings. Corea Lunch on the Wharf is a must visit for the best lobster roll ever. Or enjoy a lobster dinner while looking out over the boats in the harbor. For dessert try one of Wendy's famous Whoopie Pies! And check out the gallery with incredible black and white photos from a bygone era. While in Corea, stop in at Chapter Two a lovely gallery with Rosemary's gorgeous hooked Rugs and Garry's collection of good books as well as local artist's wares. They often have workshops and shows. Other Activities: Bar Harbor Ferry:The Schoodic Ferry or the Windjammer Bartlett's Estate Winery , Whale Watching and Cruises Sea Kayaking/Bicycling Campobello Island, Roosevelt Cottage - (bring a passport)- about 1 hour 45 minute drive There is so much to be seen and done here. Please come and see for yourself!
