We had this home built to take advantage of the seascape and want to share this while we live and work in the Bay Area
The Owner purchased this house in 2004
This location is ideally suited for visitors from the Bay Area and Sacramento. You can easily get there after work on a Friday evening. You can choose to enjoy the peace and quiet of the coast or hike and bike to your heart is content. There are also many great artists in the area who share their creations with the community.
The kitchen is fabulous. The view is spectacular. The hot tub and jacuzzi tubs give you a choice of relaxing in soothing water indoors or out.
My husband and I stayed at Far Niente a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful time. The home was very spacious, furnished well, had a very good view of the ocean and gave us many opportunities to view the neighboring wildlife. From the deck we were able to view many different species of birds. Plus we saw several deer, fawns, a whale, and a fox whose den was on the bluff in the bushes next to a neighbor's house. The kitchen was well equipped and the hot tub was wonderful. The house had a vast library of books and videos as well as a good variety of board games. We'll definitely recommend it to our friends. The owners were great!
This home was absolutely beautiful and spacious. The pictures really don't do it justice. We stayed there with our three children and we had so much room. The oceanfront view is amazing and the house is incredibly comfortable and cozy. We all loved our stay! Truly, I can't imagine that you could find a nicer home in the area for the price.
I especially enjoyed the kitchen that is equipped with every appliance imaginable. It was such a pleasure to cook there. We also enjoyed the hot tub on the deck that had oceanfront views. So beautiful!
The house was very clean and had everything we could ask for. We definitely hope to return and enjoy another wonderful stay at Far Niente! Thank you!
My friends and I stayed at Far Niente in July, 2014, for three nights. I posted my review of our stay. We liked it so much that I stated in my 2014 review that we were going to return for a week in 2015.
Here is my review from July, 2014:
"For the sake of brevity, rather than repeat in this review all of the wonderful things stated by others in their reviews of Far Niente, let me simply state that what others have written is very accurate. For many years, my friends and I stay in Gualala every July to play golf at the nearby Sea Ranch Golf Links. We had such wonderful three-night stay at Far Niente that I am going to contact Paul and Mary to book their beautiful home for a week in 2015."
Well, we did. We spent a wonderful week at Far Niente in mid-July, 2015.
Again, we liked it so much that we are going to reserve Far Niente for a week in mid-July, 2016.
It is a wonderful place to stay in Gualala.
We had a wonderful stay. The home is beautiful with gorgeous views of the coast. There was plenty of space for four couples relax in with adequate privacy. The owners were very nice and easy to deal with. We would definitely book this property again!!
Great view, VERY well stocked, we really needed 3 master bedrooms, but there is really only 2 masters. House is capable of sleeping a lot of people, but not those requiring privacy. Would rent again, can't say enough about the view, wish we could have stayed longer
We stayed 4 nights at this beautiful home overlooking the Pacific and the views are simply amazing. The house was clean, bright and cheery. We felt right at home. Kitchen is spacious and well equipped and was a joy preparing meals. Everything we needed was provided. Relaxing on the deck and soaking on the spa were a delight. Listening to the ocean at night was so restful. Walking just down the street a bit for the view of Castle Rock was a daily ritual. Wonderful location. This a great house to stay for exploring the Mendocino or Sonoma coasts or just relaxing, enjoying the views! We will be returning next year and the next and the next! Thank you Mary and Paul
