Maravillosa Experiencia.

  • 5 of 5

Nice charming villa

  • 4 of 5

The property is great and its in a very special part of the island.

Its big enough to accomodate 12 (more people could sleep but there would be no space to seat and eat at thr table so 12 its a good number)

Bedrooms are big and comfortable though I would invest in modernizing the bathrooms somehow (one on the sinks were liking and we had to have bucket under the sink the whole weekend it didnt look nice)

The social area is great, nice pool with awesome view!

Comfortable kitchen with the most amazing help! Marta and Delio! They would pamper you in any way. They cook, they organize special requests, they clean and pick up after you... Really they make everything so much easier.

I would definitively come back. Only complaints were the bathrooms and a tv on living room (I would remove it so that people can actually interact with eachother and not even have the change on turning a tv on :)

Off the beaten path Yucatan vacation

  • 3 of 5

This villa is a bit tired but the 2 live-in caretakers will take very good care of you . A few things I would share are: the 6 bedrooms are all very separate which is great for couples or older children but young children will be out of hearing and sight, the pool is not heated but is comfortable, the beach is ideal for little children, it is 2 feet deep for a long ways but adults maybe looking for waves etc, there is seaweed on the beach and no lounges, after dark raccoons come around so it wasn't pleasant eating outside. The caretakers keep the villa clean and will give you rides into town or do anything you need, they do not speak English . The restaurants in town are very laid back, fresh fish and delicious, nobody got sick. Golf cart taxis run up and down the road so there is no need to rent one. It is a 2 hour drive without stops and a 30 minute ferry to Holbox from Cancun. Ferries run once an hour. The town is really quaint and undeveloped.

Perfect house for family vacation

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here February 13 to 20, 2016. 16 family members including 4 children. I paid by wire from my bank and everything went smoothly. We arrived at the ferry dock and there were plenty of golf cart taxies to take us across town to the house. They didn't know how to find the address but knew the name of the property. This house is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for large groups. It is on a fairly quiet part of the beach with a short walk into town. There is a beach house with kitchen, dining and living areas plus 2 full bathrooms. Behind the house is a courtyard with paths leading to 6 bedrooms each with a full bathroom and 2 beds. 3 rooms were on ground level and 3 were upstairs. Each had a patio or balcony and were very private. In front of the beach house is a large porch and patio and a beautiful clean pool. We spent most of our time there and the children loved the pool. Marta and her husband were very helpful. They didn't speak any English but my niece could speak a bit of Spanish and managed to communicate enough to have Marta cook some meals for us which were absolutely delicious. Her husband made several trips to town to pick up groceries and beer for us. Everything was super clean. There is air conditioning in each bedroom and in the beach house. At sunset the mosquitoes were out for about an hour. Loved the location. At low tide in the morning you can walk for miles and miles out into the ocean on sandbars. Every day there were different shells and sea life on the sandbars including a small octopus and small starfish. There are lots of restaurants within easy walking distance with items on the menu that the children would eat. Everywhere we ate was fantastic. But if you want to eat as a large group you need to make a reservation ahead of time. Also with a large group the meals take longer because most of the restaurants have a small kitchen. We went on the 3 Island Tour which was very fun and interesting. We went in a small boat with a sunshade to 2 locations with bird nesting observation towers and a freshwater cenote to swim in. There was one flamingo at the bird island and some of us even saw it flying along the beach. I really can't say enough about what a wonderful place this is! I wish I could have stayed a month. Thank you Emilio!

Family get together

  • 5 of 5

We just enjoyed a fabulous get together with extended family at Villa Moopich, I went with my two daughters ages 8 and 5 and there were a total of 12 adults and 4 children that stayed at the house. The rooms were nice and air conditions and the layout of the property is fantastic. If people needed some downtime the rooms were quiet. If they wanted a raucous good time they could hang out in the commons area. The pool being in front of the house meant that there were always adults to watch the children in the pool. The property is back far enough from the road that it had a lot of privacy yet you still had a view of the ocean. If you wanted to hear the ocean there were lounge chairs and shade at the end of the drive. Everyone could spread out or all be together if you wanted to. the housekeeper and groundskeeper, Marta and Delio, were wonderful. We had Marta cook for us a few times and it was delicious. Delio would run errands for us as needed. We did have him make a run for Dos Equis a few times! They didn't speak any English and I was the one in the family that had to pull up my Spanish skills from 20 years ago which was interesting. It was helpful that I had read a review that the bugs were an issue so we brought spray. I didn't use it enough though because I came back with quite a few bites. It isn't a reason not to go to Holbox though. I would recommend this house and this island to everyone. I can't wait to return!

Beautiful Villa

  • 5 of 5

Spent a week at this property with mixed aged group from mid sixties to fifteen months. Everybody had a great time. The housekeeper and his wife Marta and Delio made our stay super easy by taking over the shopping and cooking for a tip at the end. The meals were really tasty and filling. This island is not a Cancun or Playa del Carmen. It is quiet, more for swimming and trekking than clubbing which suited our party. Be warned there are bugs and they can be pretty ferocious, mosquitos and no seeums(?) but it is a nature reserve so this is too be expected. The property is spacious and there was plenty of room for everyone. It is very well kept.
