Picture yourself with a book in your hand sitting in the leather arm chair next to one of the 3 fireplaces in this beautiful log Chalet. This, of course, is following a fun day of skiing, skating, tube-sledding and snowshoeing. The chalet is situated right on the slopeside of the bunny-hill, so you can ski right in and out. Or, you can watch a group of little skiers get their first ski lesson, while you sip hot coco on the balcony. Once you have gone night skiing, you can get into the hot tub and gaze at the spectacular view of the valley below. Perhaps you would prefer to sit in the steam shower for a little while instead.
The Master bedroom is on the very top floor with its own ensuite, TV, fireplace, King size bed and soaker tub.
There is also a desk/reading area overlooking the great room. (complimentary wireless internet)
The main floor has the great room, large fireplace, a dining area, and a large kitchen. On this level there are 2 bedrooms with double beds and a bathroom with a steam shower.
The first level has an entertainment room with satalite TV, DVD, bar (sink, minifridge, counter-top), a very spacious bootroom, and full laundry room. There is also two bedrooms on this level that have double sized bunk beds. This is the level that you ski right off the deck onto the slope.
Below that is a very large double garage and double car-port. (room for 4 cars, 2 in and 2 out). We have a very small garage Gym (suitable for cross fitters). If you would like to use the gym equipment (olympic bar/weights, rack, rower, battle ropes, med balls, kettle bells), please inquire.
There is a sofa bed for that special teenager who will no longer share a room with his sister ;).

My family has been skiing Big White for the last 20 years and we have always loved it. In 1997 my parents bought a small condo that we used so often we decided to upgrade. in 2002, as a family, we participated in the design of this chalet and had it built to use and love. Now that my parents are not skiing and I have a young family, we don't get to the mountain as often, but still want the chalet to be enjoyed. So we decided to begin renting it out for part of the season.
Shann Ross purchased this chalet in 2002
You could simply not get closer to the hill. literally a step off the deck, and you are on one of the runs. We chose this particular area, for the large lot, views and privacy, while still being a stones throw to the run.
It is a short walk to the village, where you can enjoy a meal or a beverage and then walk (or sled) back down to the chalet. At the village you can hop on the gondola to take you down to happy valley, where you can skate, ice climb, sled and tube-ride, snowmobile or snowshoe tours. There are also dogsledding tours and sleigh rides that happen through out the season.
The location is terrific as it is great to be right on the run. This was our second time staying there and we were once again very happy with our stay!
We stayed for only 2 nights which in hindsight was not enough as it would be nice to stay longer to take advantage of the ski in and ski out. The house was as advertised - there was lots of room for the nine of us and with the bunk beds it could easily fit more. There was easy access to the ski slope as it is the last on the street and leads right out to a run. No issues with any of the appliances or bathrooms - everything worked well. It was clean and well maintained. Unfortunately it was foggy the days we were there so we can't comment on the views but I believe it would be nice. No problems booking the suite and contacting the person involved. Would have no problem recommending it to others.
The perfect ski-in and ski-out location. The living room is bright and felt like home, while the kitchen was super clean and stocked with all the amenities. The cabin is set up so that the kids could hang out downstairs in the evenings, while the adults enjoyed the main floor. The hot tub was relaxing at the end of a big day of skiing, overlooking the amazing views. We loved the master suite on the top floor and thoroughly enjoyed the large soaker tub. The owner was helpful and accommodating in every way. Loved our stay at the Woodcutter cabin, we will definitely be back again.
The property was perfect and in an excellent locations for ski in and ski out. The property was clean and big and well laid out for our party of 12. We will be booking this property again.
Great ski in/out location, run was right out our back door. Rooms are much larger than they appear in the photo's. Queen size bunks were roomy and comfortable for adults. Property was clean and well maintained with all the amenities of home. Many spices and condiments were available for our use. Owner was very helpful with all queries and even provided an extra queen size blow up bed so fewer people had to share beds. We were a group of 13 women from an outdoor club who had a wonderful time and will definitely be back for another stay . I highly recommend this property to others wanting a home like stay right on the mountain.
Great decor, well-maintained. all the amenities, flat-screen tv, Wii, GREAT hot tub, fully stocked and equipped kitchen with all you need to make meals. lots of sleeping space, bunk beds, etc. Best part, this place is literally right on the hill, the door opens onto the run that goes to the chairlift, you do not even need to walk anywhere, just put on your skis or snowboard on your porch and slide down the hill. No problems whatsoever and I have stayed here 3 times for a week at a time.
Dog Sledding, Sleigh rides, Ice Climbing, Snow Tubing, Skating, Cross Country Skiing, Snow Shoeing,
Hiking. one lift stays open to take you to the top of the mountain and you can hike down to the glacier fed (very cold) beautiful lake.
Wine tours and golf are an hour away in the summer months.
