Unforgettable Mountain Sunset View No Fire Damage - 1st week June is now open

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,000 sq. ft.
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 3 - 6 nights

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 full baths, sleeps 8

Summer is coming and cabins are filling up the dates quickly.

May is the beginning of Summer with warmer weather and many special events. Dollywood is opens and it has something for everyone.

“Unforgettable View” sits atop Pine Mountain and provides privacy, spectacular views and is only 2.5 miles from Stoplight #6 in Pigeon Forge, TN and about 7 miles from Dollywood and Splash Country. Our cabin has two levels, each with a large deck, clear mountain views and sunsets you will never forget. The large hot tub is on the upper deck along with a small table and chairs. Rocking chairs and a porch swing are on the lower deck along with another table with chairs. On the main level is the Master Bedroom with Jacuzzi, king size pillow top bed, full bathroom and a door to the deck. Also on that level is a fully equipped kitchen and living room with electric fireplace and a 42in HDTV. We use DirecTV with DVR for your enjoyment. The lower level has a large game room with pool table and fooseball and a door to the deck. In addition, there are two bedrooms; both with king size beds, and a full bathroom. Bedrooms have ceiling fans and HDTVs. Full size washer & dryer on lower level.

New mattress in master bedroom 2012 plus new living room furniture with new sleeper sofa that year.

Over the stove microwave does not show up in the pictures. In addition we added a new Belgium waffle maker and new slow cooker to the kitchen. From our Unforgettable View Cabin you can get to Kroger Grocery or Publix and several restaurants without getting on the parkway. Also, if you are coming into Knoxville from I40 traveling East, you can avoid Knoxville and the parkway by taking Hwy 321 which will turn into Wears Valley Road. Great location 2 miles from Parkway and 5 miles from Dollywood.

August 2011 update: new dishwasher, new mattresses on both beds downstairs, all bedroom TVs 32' flat screen HD now, blinds on front door added, trees cut to make a spectacular view even better. Note, the view does not contain power lines or nearby cabins. It is a view of the mountains you came to see.

During the two biggest snows in late 2010 and Jan 2011 the road up the mountain (Engle Town) was plowed the day following the snow. Our guests came and went while many were digging out in Gatlinburg. No assurance this will be repeated in the future, but I was happy to see it thus far. In 2014 ice storms made all roads in the mountains impossible and for this reason I recommend trip cancellation insurance during January and February.

About David Chamberlin

I am retired and Pam is retired from Southwest Airlines in Nashville. We enjoy traveling, hiking and spending time with the grandchildren.

David Chamberlin purchased this cabin in 2010

Why David Chamberlin chose Tennessee

We have been coming to the Smoky Mountains National Park for years to camp and hike. Our granddaughters enjoy Dollywood and Splash Country parks and we enjoy the entertainment offered. Our cabin is not located in a subdivision. It is private yet convenient to all the attractions. It affords us peace and quiet while surrounding us with the natural beauty of the mountains.

What makes this cabin unique

VIEW - you are looking at mountains and trees, not other cabins, power lines, roads etc. We were very specific in what we wanted. It had to have a very convenient location with a great view.

Peace and quiet in the Smokies

  • 5 of 5

Three couples shared this mountain view cabin for a week and had a great time! Located only a few minutes from Pigeon Forge, it was wonderful to return to after the hustle and bustle and TRAFFIC of Pigeon Forge and just sit on the deck sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the fantastic view the cabin was named for. Road to cabin was exciting to drive on. With the exception of one night when we went to see Dolly Parton's Lumberjack Show, we did all of our own cooking and never had to drive the road after dark. If you are doing your own cooking, do as owner suggests and bring any spices you may need. We were staying a week, so if you are staying that long, unless you plan on shopping while there, bring extra "starter" items as there are very few ( dishwasher soap, garbage bags, bars of soap, paper towels, napkins, paper plates, toilet paper etc. Also, unless we missed them, there was only one dish towel and one dish cloth). The description and pictures on VRBO were accurate. Overall, being a mountain cabin it was very clean. Beds were really comfortable, hot tub on deck was clean. Some of the things we did while there that we enjoyed was the Lumberjack Show, horseback riding at Walden Creek Stables, "The Island" area in Pigeon Forge, The Christmas Shop and of course Great Smoky Mountain National Park for the fall colors. (Tip: do not try to drive there from Pigeon Forge on the weekend. Traffic on the Parkway was terrible! It took us over an hour in bumper to bumper traffic just to go the 4 miles to Gatlinburg. The weekend would be a good time to do the wine sipping on the deck!) The owner was nice to work with and he even stopped in to see how we were doing! We would recommend this to friends and family. We had an "unforgettable" vacation at "Unforgettable View"!

Great cabin for the right price

  • 5 of 5

The view and cabin were perfect for our family of 6. The cabin had everything we needed. The hot tub, gaming tables, grill and swinging bench were all used frequently for our 5 day stay. The cabin was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The location was perfect; however if you are not custom to driving in the mountains it at first can be a little dicey. By the third trip up the narrow roads and steep drops were no problem. Also the close proximity to pigeon forge, gatlinburg, national park and dolly wood made it very efficient to get around. Only negative thing to note was a surrounding property left garbage out that was scattered along the roadway leading to the cabin. The owner Dave called after our departure to check on our stay and he was going to have his cleaners take care of the problem. In short if your looking for a buetiful cabin with a great view of the foothills of the smoky mountains, for the right price, then I would stay here again without hesitation.
