Overview

Young Harris Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 bedroom, 2 bath, sleeps six

A floor-to-ceiling stacked rock fireplace in the living room welcomes weary travelers to relax and unwind while enjoying the mountain and meadow views from this quiet cabin in the Northeast Georgia Blue Ridge mountains. Walls of tongue-in-groove knotty pine give warmth to the main rooms, which are accented with maple floors.

Built in 2005, this cabin features two over-sized bedrooms and an extra loft which sleeps two. A full acre of natural woods habitat next to the cabin provides natural privacy to the outdoor hot tub and has been enhanced with native landscaping and feeders to attract lots of birds and butterflies. Deer and wild turkey are often spotted strolling through the property.

Porch and wrap around three sided deck with lots of seating makes kicking back and relaxing easy. Whether you are sitting on the porch, deck, rustic log furniture or in the hot tub with built-in entertainment sound system, the mountains are always in front of you.

The upstairs master suite, adjacent to the loft, has a deluxe king sized bed. The master bath has a jetted tub that overlooks the woods and features a huge walk-in closet.

The main floor bedroom, with a queen size bed, has french doors that overlook the front porch and more mountain views. Sleeping facilities are augmented by a chair-and-a-half twin sleeper in the living room. A futon in the large loft folds down to accommodate children and extra guests.

All stainless steel appliances are featured in the fully equipped kitchen.

Outdoors is an easily accessible full hook-up RV pad (50 amp power, city water, sewer & cable TV) adjacent to the cabin, which accommodates up to a 39' rig. A large custom-designed wood burning fire pit on the edge of the property allows you to roast as many marshmallows as you dare enjoy.

This cabin is accessed by well-paved roads with no excessively steep slopes.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We came up from Florida to relax & enjoy the fall season & that we did! When I first saw the pictures online of the cabin I knew this was the place we were going to.

The fall colors are beautiful and every window shoes a different vista.

The hot tub was just what our bones needed after a cool day's ride on the mountains. The glass of wine topped off the day!

We have treasured our stay here. I hope we can bring our grandchild up next time.

Wonderful

We just loved the area and cabin was so awesome. Had issues getting in the gate but found out from a gentleman living there it's been an issue. Would ask that shower head be replaced upstairs. It only trickles. We hope to go back every year. The porch is just terrific!!. Thanks so much!!!

Absolutly perfect...location, size, amenities, scenery!

  • 5 of 5

My family was able to relax and enjoy the beauty. We went shopping on the way up so once we got to the cabin we were all set. There is a dollar General right up the road and they have everything I could possibly need. We will Definetly stay there again.

Returned to this cabin for another visit

  • 4 of 5

This cabin, located between Young Harris and Blairsville, has all the comforts of home. It is by no means rustic; it is nearly high end.

We enjoyed again, the quiet neighborhood where we saw wild turkeys and deer crossing the road. We took advantage of our close proximity to visit Dahlonega and Amicalola State Park. The cabin itself is very warm and comfortable and the hot tub worked just fine. I recommend this cabin to everyone.

Great Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was well equipped and very clean! It was spacious with a huge walk in closet in the master that fit a pack n play perfectly. In fact, the master is big enough to throw a blow up mattress on if you needed more sleeping space. We had a wedding at the Brasstown resort which was 15 minutes away. We also visited Helen (a town that look so like a Swiss villag) and my 3 year old adopted a doll at the Cabbage Patch Hospital in Cleveland. I would recommend that the owners post clear instructions for the WIFI, the gas fireplace, the hot tub, the upstairs shower and the front door lock. There is very limited cell service and the lack of wifi made it difficult to find directions for our trips. Overall, a great home in a beautiful area!

Lovely Neighborhood Home

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Oso Suite. The accommodations were absolutely lovely. We enjoyed the jacuzzi with colorful lighting, the garden tub in the master suite. We also loved having two living spaces one up stairs, and one downstairs. With two couples co-habitating for the week, the extra space was very nice. I have to also say that the beds were SOOOOOO comfortable, although a little creaky.

The only thing we missed was seclusion. Perhaps in the summer months when leaves are on the trees, this is better captured, but in early April, we could clearly see our neighbors on both sides. The development in this neighborhood is very nice and upscale, but we were hoping for a lot more seclusion.

The beautiful meadow shown on the website can be viewed from the front porch. This looked like a great place to take our dogs for a soulful, leashlessly free romp in the wilderness, but it appeared to be private property, and we were apprehensive about going there. When one sees the picture on the website, it is implied that this area is part of the property, when in fact, it's not.

We also had a frightening encounter with an enormous brown and white, fully intact pit bull, who strolled onto the property from the backyard. Our dogs were out in the yard at the time (electronic collars with invisible borders) and this gave us quite a scare. This unleashed pit bull came around several times during our stay. There was also another small brown dog who wandered around the property as well. Ironically, the homeowners association called us about our dogs not being leashed (again, we had them on electronic collars with a reasonable and safe set perimeter), so we just want to make everyone aware of these other dogs who were not contained.

We would have liked to have used the fire pit, but to do so, one must acquire a permit each day that you use the fire pit, and it can't be used at night (which would have been the most ideal). I would think that most people would enjoy the fire pit at night. If it's advertised as being a usable fire pit, it would be best to let people know that they only use it during the day and with heavy constraints on its use.

The accommodations were 5 star, but our expectations, based on the internet ad, were somewhat disappointing.

cozy with a few problems

  • 3 of 5

The good. The cabin is in a nice area and not too far from town. the owner was available by phone for questions. The bad is that there is no cell service which is not a big deal but when the Internet was not working we had to drive back to town to look at the instructions for the cabin. Usually these are inside the cabin and easily found. We needed them for the fire place which the pilot light was not lit and for the hot tub which was not working. After reading the instructions the hot tub still was not working. We found the breaker and cycled it on and off which fixed the issue. Another issue was that the upstairs heat did not work and it was 22 degrees out. When I woke up my dad's room was below 60. To the owners credit she did get the Internet and the heat fixed the next day. She was very pleasant to deal with. I would stay again. The hot tub is really nice. It could use a much larger TV maybe over the fire place.
