Overview

About the property

3 bedroom, 1 bath, 1 half bath, sleeps six

Perched on Keaton Street’s corner hilltop you'll enjoy magnificent panoramic views and the relaxing summer breeze of Lake Michigan. Our cottage has 3 Bedrooms, two with queen beds and one with 2 twin beds. Master bedroom has a wonderful view of Lake Michigan. 11/2 baths, washer, dryer, dishwasher, linens provided. Sleeps 6. Dog friendly

We are just a half block from Pere Marquette beach, the only nationally certified 'Clean Beach' on the great lakes. Miles of clean beach and fresh water, gorgeous sunsets, kite boarding, playgrounds, and bike trail are just a few of the things that make this beach outstanding!

We are located in a very quiet neighborhood coined the 'Actor's Colony' because of its history of being summer home to Buster Keaton’s family and vaudeville performers. Walk wooded trails or watch deer sleep on the hillside. Bring your bikes. The Bike/Walking path is just out the front door of the cottage. Not only that, but you can walk the scenic path with your pooch to West Michigan’s only dog beach. Nearby Kruse Park offers a half mile of Lake Michigan beach for you and your pet to enjoy. There are several boat launches to choose from within a half mile. It’s only a short walk to Muskegon Yacht Club and Torresen Marine on Muskegon Lake.

We know you will love our beautiful cottage.

Lovely location, well supplied and comfortable cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Being right on the boardwalk loop was really nice, walks to beach, dog beach etc were so easy to do. The fact that the cottage is also close to the bike path was also appreciated. We were thrilled at how well supplied the cottage was, usually there is something we have to run out for right away but it was all there. The deck was wonderful for watching sunsets and the water. All in all a great place for a vacation.

Great View

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Keaton Cottage! It was very clean and Corene had everything you could ever need ready for our use. She was also very helpful! The main reason I chose this cottage was the beautiful view of Lake Michigan from the deck and from the sliding glass doors in the living room and front bedroom.

Peaceful getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The kitchen was perfectly stocked which was incredible helpful, everything was working and clean. The view was different than we were expecting as there was a water treatment plant nearby, but the walk to the beach was easy and made it well worth it! We appreciated everything and would recommend the place to anyone!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great rating! We strive to make sure that our guests have a wonderful time and stay while they are in beautiful Muskegon. On a side note for future guests, the building along Lake Michigan is the water intake area for the city's water. It is not a treatment plant. In regards to the view, the building is well below the cottage and and does not interrupt our panoramic view. Perhaps our guests were referring to the view along the road on their walk to the beach.

Charming vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

Keaton cottage is exactly as seen in the photographs, quaint and quiet. It is a quick walk to the shores of lake Michigan and a 15 min walk to the dog Beach near by. The cottage itself is kept super clean and well equipped by it owner Correne. Our dogs enjoyed the daily walks on the walking trail thru the woods were we frequently encountered deer. We agree that it is not handicapp accessible and due to the slight tilt of the floor , might not be for some folks. We also agree more television stations or an option to pay for cable for the week would be a great amentiy.Holland was an easy drive away and we loved the atmosphere of this tourist town. All in all we had a wonderful time and will consider it again in the future.

Beautiful Lake Michigan Views

  • 5 of 5

What a great cottage close to the lake. It is clean, well equipped and a fun place to meet up with friends and family. It is not handicapped accessible at all but on a lovely walking/bike trail that goes through the woods and along the beach. Very easy walk to the beach with lots of beach toys. Corene gives great advice for your stay and answers all questions promptly. I would definitely stay here again.
