About the property

3 bedroom, 1 bath, 1 half bath, sleeps six

Perched on Keaton Street’s corner hilltop you'll enjoy magnificent panoramic views and the relaxing summer breeze of Lake Michigan. Our cottage has 3 Bedrooms, two with queen beds and one with 2 twin beds. Master bedroom has a wonderful view of Lake Michigan. 11/2 baths, washer, dryer, dishwasher, linens provided. Sleeps 6. Dog friendly

We are just a half block from Pere Marquette beach, the only nationally certified 'Clean Beach' on the great lakes. Miles of clean beach and fresh water, gorgeous sunsets, kite boarding, playgrounds, and bike trail are just a few of the things that make this beach outstanding!

We are located in a very quiet neighborhood coined the 'Actor's Colony' because of its history of being summer home to Buster Keaton’s family and vaudeville performers. Walk wooded trails or watch deer sleep on the hillside. Bring your bikes. The Bike/Walking path is just out the front door of the cottage. Not only that, but you can walk the scenic path with your pooch to West Michigan’s only dog beach. Nearby Kruse Park offers a half mile of Lake Michigan beach for you and your pet to enjoy. There are several boat launches to choose from within a half mile. It’s only a short walk to Muskegon Yacht Club and Torresen Marine on Muskegon Lake.

We know you will love our beautiful cottage.

Charming vacation spot

  • 5 of 5

Keaton cottage is exactly as seen in the photographs, quaint and quiet. It is a quick walk to the shores of lake Michigan and a 15 min walk to the dog Beach near by. The cottage itself is kept super clean and well equipped by it owner Correne. Our dogs enjoyed the daily walks on the walking trail thru the woods were we frequently encountered deer. We agree that it is not handicapp accessible and due to the slight tilt of the floor , might not be for some folks. We also agree more television stations or an option to pay for cable for the week would be a great amentiy.Holland was an easy drive away and we loved the atmosphere of this tourist town. All in all we had a wonderful time and will consider it again in the future.

Beautiful Lake Michigan Views

  • 5 of 5

What a great cottage close to the lake. It is clean, well equipped and a fun place to meet up with friends and family. It is not handicapped accessible at all but on a lovely walking/bike trail that goes through the woods and along the beach. Very easy walk to the beach with lots of beach toys. Corene gives great advice for your stay and answers all questions promptly. I would definitely stay here again.

What a pleasure!

  • 5 of 5

A very nice cottage in a great location to enjoy the beach and views. The cottage is very well maintained, spotless, well appointed, comfy - has everything you need. We enjoyed being out and about during the day and coming back to the cottage for dinner and views on the deck. The kitchen is very easy to cook in and has everything you need to cook in or grill out. Bike/walking path right outside leads to a beautiful wooded trail, large park, and the beach. We especially enjoyed the nearby dog beach for our water-loving Labradoodle and the walk out to the lighthouse which afforded beautiful sunset views. It really was a pleasure staying at Keaton Cottage. Thank you for a great weekend.

Great cottage with a Huge View!

  • 5 of 5

The listing is spot on, just like the pictures. This is a wonderful little beach town cottage with an amazing view of Lake Michigan. We stayed for the weekend along with a few friends and our dog. It was very clean and well maintained. Correne was extremely helpful. She went out of her way to make our check-in/check-out easy. I would stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family.

Something For Everyone

  • 5 of 5

Our whole family, including the dog, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Keaton Cottage.

There is something here for everyones tastes. The cute cottage has a deck that overlooks Lake Michigan and is perfect for quiet time. A wonderful beach is within walking distance for sunning and swimming. The bike/walking path right outside the door leads to many playgrounds for the kids. There was even a beach on Lake Michigan for our dog. We are planning to go back next year and would recommend jt for everyone.

Heaven with my pups

  • 5 of 5

Such a blessing to be able to vacation with our dogs. We have an older lab who loves the water, and this was perfect. We took the trail to the dog beach and even took the short drive to Beachwood Park to part and have a shorter walk. Everyone is so friendly, it was idyllic. Cabin is perfect size. The 1 and 1/2 bath are super convenient and the washer/dryer was invaluable with a 4 month old. Yard was great for the pups and it was nice and private while still have a fantastic view! My only suggestion would be a softer mattress in the one bedroom. We ended up sleeping in the twins because it was way too stiff for us. And if possible, and outdoor firepit. Smores would have pushed it over the top! :) All in all, LOVED it. We hope to be back next year.
