Andrea purchased this house in 2006

Hello-We stayed at this property last year at about the same timeframe and we loved it.
I rented this property for the weekend of Dec.2,2016 for my whole family to celebrate my Dad's 70th birthday. There were 10 adults and 5 kids. The kids were beyond excited to be staying in a house with an inground pool. We got there Friday late afternoon and tried the pool in the evening. The pool room was freezing and so was the water. We turned up the thermostat in the pool room ( not the pool heater because there was a sign not to touch it) once we turned the heat up to approx 67 it started to smell like gas. We immediately left the room and contacted the owner about the smell and cold. She said to turn up the thermostat to 70, the smell had to do with the humidity in the pool room. This made no sense but we did as we were told. The next morning we tried going into the pool room again because the kids were so excited. Once again it was freezing and unusable . I contacted the owner ,she said she'd check with her husband and call the pool company. This went on and on. At one point the owner said she would have her property manager come to the house but the property manager never showed up. So, basically we were without the pool for the entire weekend plus there was a foul smell coming from the bedrooms in the basement. We had to listen to kids crying all weekend because we told them about this "fabulous house" with an inground heated pool. I texted the owner to let her know that upon leaving we tried to pull up a blind in the bedroom( probably from the 80's) and it broke so if she would like to deduct that from the security deposit it would be fine with me and send me the balance. However I told her that I think we should receive some sort of monetary credit for not being able to use the pool for the entire weekend.( That is the major selling point when renting this house and we were unable to use it). I have yet to hear back from the owner and it's been almost a week
I was invited for a weekend in July 16, we found the floors dirty where I was afraid to walk anywhere with out my shoes on including in the bathroom, this was my second time there the first time was amazing the second very disappointing. The leaves were covering all the Windows in the lower level of the house the Russ were dirty and the emergency exits were blocked by dead leaves and debris, they were also locked so the guest in the bunk room were trapped if God forbid there was an emergency, the window in the bunk room is broken and locked seemed screwed shut no key for the lock on the fore door so no way to get out, the pool was dirty and the outside hasn't been taken care of in already two years. I love the house and what it has to offer the outside just needs tlc and a great cleaning company for the inside I wanted to rent it for next thanksgiving although I would have to be assured that it was cleaned the right way, New maintenance person and the outside was fixed to look like a place you want to stay. The owner should also do surprise visits to make sure she is getting what she is paying for services I do have pics of property from my stay if the owner would like to see them, other then this I will check back next summer to see if available for thanksgiving of 17 and it is a beautiful house if kept up. I would recommend this property to friends and family
We were a large group (16) and all fit comfortably around the house. The grilling area was a bit dirty but nothing a little cleaning on our end couldn't solve. The Pool had a layer of dirt at the bottom and the Sauna did not work during our stay, Andrea was very responsive and apologetic when I called to let her know. She sent in someone to clean the pool the very next day while we were out taking a ride through town. The day after we left the home, Andrea called to let me know the trash bar was missing, it is then that I found out one of the kids decided to play around with it and got lost. In exchange for the dirty pool and broken Sauna, Andrea agreed to not charge us extra for the missing trash bar and called it even, which was a nice gesture.
Just got back from a golf trip with the guys. Weather was ninety degrees and sunny for one of the four plus hour rounds of golf. Our core temperatures were easily up a few degrees until we got back to the house and jumped in the pool for an instant cool down. Nice grill pad just outside of the side door that seared up twenty-five pounds of sirloin, sixty drumsticks, twenty plus burgers and dogs. Pool table, basketball hoop, indoor pool, sauna, and all the televisions with all the same channels we'd watch at home was great for the pre-golf and after-dinner hours of the trip. I'm sure the setup would work just as well if we were skiing/boarding instead of golfing.
The fun stuff of the house takes your mind off of the fact that the house has the essential accommodations taken care of as well. Parking for over a dozen vehicles (and a truck hitch pig roaster), clean linens, dishwasher, laundry, etc....
Planning on making this house a part of the annual trip.
Place has everything.
The family had a great time here. The house is located very close to Echo Lake and many great trails for the family and for those us that like more experienced hikes. The house wasn't fully cleaned when we go there, but it may have been from miscommunication with the cleaning service since we booked somewhat last minute. The pool and table were also a great feature for indoor activities. Would stay here again.
We are a family of 9 adults and 3 small children. Based on the reviews, we thought this would be a perfect house for our family vacation; however, we were sadly disappointed. The floors were dirty - our feet were black, the chairs in the living and dining rooms were stained, the closets had various odds and ends left in them including dry cleaned items. The screen on the patio door was broken and propped up against the outside wall, the front screen door did not close and the screen was missing from it as well as from the window in the living room so it made the main level very hot. The yard was covered in dead leaves and there was broken glass in the side yard, making it unsafe for the children. The barbeque was filthy and most disappointing of all, so was the pool. The pool had a layer of dirt on the bottom which made the water murky and the pool unusable.
To the owner's credit, she offered to refund our entire rental fee and did so immediately. She apologized and said that she had just hired a new cleaning company. We were fortunate, on such short notice, to find another house in the same neighborhood. We drove past the property the next day and there were several service vehicles in the yard, presumably doing the inside repairs. The yard had been cleaned and looked great.
I would have no problem recommending this property if the above issues were resolved. Before renting, I would recommend that you contact the owner directly to make sure. Andrea is very pleasant to deal with and seemed genuinely concerned about the state of the property.
