This beautiful home was custom built in 2000 by my father as his last labor of love before retiring. Together we designed the open floor plan and unique details which make this house a home. Having grown up on the Cape it was important to me to be as close to the beach as possible. I not only enjoy the beach during the summer season, but very often will walk down there during the off-season to fill my lungs with the amazing winter salt air. One of my favorite activities is biking and walking along the bike trail, which is literally steps from my front door. Walking into Harwich Port on a Wednesday evening to partake in the Harwich Stroll is one of my summer hightlights. The Stroll takes place all along Main Street, featuring fine local bands performing live for the masses.
Audrey Greenway purchased this house in 2000
The location of this property is perfect for me in so many ways. It's 5 minutes to the highway, walking distance to Harwich Center, Harwich Port, the bike trail, the baseball games, the library, fabulous restaurants, and it's on a tree lined lane which allows us to be out of the fray of summertime traffic.
This house, tucked in amongst the trees, although close to all of the great amenities of the town, feels so private and tranquil during the hustle and bustle of the summertime months. It's very relaxing to sit out on the patio with a glass of wine, taking in the gardens, or playing a game of wiffle ball in the back yard, or just taking a relaxative in the hammock.
We (4 adults and 2 toddlers) spent a week at this home and highly recommend it. The property is beautiful and located in a nice quiet neighborhood. The house was equipped with everything you could need. The landlord (Audrey) responded quickly to all of our questions, before and during our stay. We especially liked relaxing in the backyard hammock for an afternoon nap after a day at the beach. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely choose to stay here again.
In our more than 20 years renting vacation homes on the Cape, we have never come across a more lovely, well-kept, overall exceptional vacation home. The owner, Audrey, was incredibly nice and very helpful, and it is very obvious that she takes a great deal of pride in this house. The house was sparkling clean, air conditioned, beautifully decorated, and had everything you would want convenience-wise, and more - including a high-end washer and dryer, beach chairs, etc. The photos do not do this vacation home justice; we had an amazing time and highly recommend this gorgeous Cape gem. Thank you, Audrey, for an incredible stay!
The house was beautiful, space great for a family of four to be together, but equally our own space when wanted. The gardens are great for a BBQ or 'mini Olympic' course the kids created. I spent loads of time in the hammock either with my book or just gazing at the tree canopy. There was some confusion with linen that we weren't use to as Brits, but the owner was extremely helpful and sorted the situation for us. Good positioning for the beches and ponds with lots of stuff around to do for the family.
