About Greg and Carol Jackson

Carol and Greg are native Houstonians who moved to Austin in 1996, although Greg worked as a musician and Carol attended UT in Austin in the 70's. Greg has returned to being a full time musician and Carol now practices acupuncture in our home and also in a clinic.

Please let us know if you are interested in an Acupuncture Treatment, Massage, or Herbal Consultation.

Greg and Carol Jackson purchased this apartment in 2005

Why Greg and Carol Jackson chose Austin

We had lived out in the Hill Country and decided that we wanted to live in town when Carol started her acupuncture practice. We fell in love with the Hyde Park neighborhood and neighbors, as well as our 100+ year old Victorian home. Greg is an accomplished builder and carpenter, so the wonderful old house offers many remodeling project opportunities - we're not quite finished!

What makes this apartment unique

We love living here in the historic Hyde Park neighborhood where we actually know and visit with our neighbors. This is a place where everyone gets out for walks, jogs, and bike rides and everyone takes the time to get to know one another. We know our guests will experience this first hand as they walk to one of the nearby restaurants or other closeby attractions

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Greg & Carol,

Thank you so much for letting us stay at your lovely apartment. The accomodations were wonderful and the Austin literature and guide books were incredibly helpful! The binder you made had easy to follow instructions and we made heavy use of your recommendations.

The apartment had everything we needed....Thanks again for everything!!

This property is amazing and owners are wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is so well designed, comfortable and beautifully decorated, while being a very private hideaway in Hyde Park. We felt like we were living in a lovely home versus an apartment! Every amenity has been thought of and provided for by the owners, with great attention to detail. The private driveway and intimate patio surrounded by lush and gorgeous vegetation, made the outdoor space as beautiful and the indoor space! We invited our daughter and son-in-law over for dinner in the evenings, and they loved being there, too. Being able to walk a few blocks to a grocery store, cafe, and even a community pool, along lush streets lined with beautiful homes made our walks delightful! I plan to rent this property again and highly recommend it!!

Hide Park Historical Garage Apartment

  • 5 of 5

My stay at the Historical District Garage apartment was everything I planned on and more. It is in mint condition with great cupboards, and woodwork great kitchen and bath, tv and antique furniture pieces...every detail was perfect for me and gave a feeling of being in a fantasy tree house which is nestled in the trees in a picture perfect neighborhood. It has everything I needed and Greg is very efficient. I added an extra day to my stay and it is close to coffee shops and the university and many other great spots. It will be my home away from home when I visit my son in Austin.

A lovely stay in a quiet neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

This has been our 3rd stay in this lovely, charming apt. The proximity to UT, restaurants, grocery, South Congress, and bus lines (if needed) make it ideal. And the Hyde Park charm makes it even better! We LOVE everything about this apt and highly recommend it for a wonderful place to call your 'home away from home.'
