We all had a great time.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 6 adults and 8 children ranging in age from 1 to 71 all had a great time in the two cabins and on the surrounding property. The creek, tire swing, fire pit, hot tubs and hammock were enjoyed by all. The cabins were very well furnished with great appliances. We all were very pleased with our stay and are planning to return.

Beautiful, Serene and Oh So Clean

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from a week at Creekside in Black Mountain and have nothing but great things to say. The minute we walked into this home, we felt at ease and comfortable. We very much enjoyed and appreciated the welcome bottle of wine Mike left for us. The first night we were trying to grill and couldn't turn the propane on, but Mike was there in minutes to fix it. After that, it was all smooth sailing as we settled into a relaxing week. The house was immaculate, including the hot tub, which was wonderful after a day on the trails. The kitchen is adequately equipped, though the cookware is all non-stick, so if you're not into that, you might want to bring your own. The house is super quiet too - you could hardly hear storms that passed over, perfect for my terrified dog. We loved walking along the creek, sitting on the deck listening to the creek and just staring into the green backdrop. The gravel road into the house is a bit of a bumpy ride, but our 2-wheel drive Lexus made it up and down every time without issue. The town of Black Mountain is quaint and about 20 minutes from the house. To get to Asheville is about 30-35 minutes, but very easy. If you're looking for a tranquil, private getaway where you can do nothing or use it as a base for exploring all the great activities that the area has to offer, and don't mind traveling on gravel roads, we highly recommend Creekside.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review! Yes, to get to this hidden gem, you do need to travel a little over a mile on gravel roads ( which are maintained on a regular basis ). This is the norm in most mountain settings when you get away from the big cities......The home is actually only 12 minutes from downtown Black Mountain, unless you are leisurely taking your time and taking in the beautiful mountain scenery.....Thanks again!

Amazing and Relaxing vacation home

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Creekside. From coffee every morning on the deck to games of hot lava in the creek, this home had everything that we were looking for: campfires and Smores every evening, relaxing in the hammock and swinging on the tire swing. We could have spent an entire day at the home exploring the property. This was truly a beautiful, comfortable, and relaxing experience.

spacious and on a lovely creek

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying here for a week. My two teenagers got to stay upstairs in their own space.

Cooking was fun in the spacious kitchen. There is plenty of cookware. Lots of big rustic jars to drink from. The island is great to prep food and serve food from.

The windows give a lovely view of the outdoors, especially the creek. We also enjoyed the fire pit outdoors and saw fireflys at night. The hot tub is roomy and welcomed after long days hiking in nearby trails to waterfalls. The hammock is great too. We liked the location so we could explore Lake Lure, Catawba Falls and even over to Linville Falls for a day. Black Mountain is close by and Ingles has all the food you could ever want.

The spacious cabin is private and in a natural setting, the AC works great and Mike is a wonderful host. We enjoyed morning coffee on the porch and an evening drink in the same spot overlooking the creek and hoping to see bears. The nearby trail is short but beautiful. We were happy to have a jeep to navigate the gravel road to the cabin, it could be tricky in a small car, though we did see others driving in them.

We were especially happy we were able to bring our little dog along on vacation.

Thank you and we hope to return to one of your cabins next year!

Wonderful week at Creekside

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great time staying at Creekside. It was me, my wife, 2.5 year old daughter, 15 month old son, and dog. The cabin is beautiful, and there's plenty to explore down by the creek and elsewhere on the property. Word of caution: Creekside is not the easiest place to stay at with toddlers. There are lots of stairs, and our kids struggled walking around the creek area due to the gravel and creek stones. However, our daughter got pretty good at it by the end of the week. Mike is very responsive to email, although we didn't have any significant issues during our stay. We hope to return to Creekside and the other cabins in the future.

Owner's Response: Thank you. The cabin does sit right next to the creek and there are natural rocks in the creek, and gravel under the deck part of the home. Yes, as advertised with the pictures on the website, there are steps that lead from the driveway to the deck and steps from the deck to the creek area. This would be the case in just about every home in the mountains next to a creek, to help keep the home elevated above the creek.....Hope you can make it back.

Perfect for a family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We traveled to Creekside to experience the mountains of NC with our family. The fully stocked log cabin was just what we were looking for, and the beautiful flowing creek adjacent to the deck took it up another notch. Our kids played for hours jumping rocks, creek walking, having picnics on the rock bridge, and hunting salamander. We can't wait to visit again!
