Beautiful location, peaceful
The rental was clean and had more than enough sitting room for six. There was also wonderful outdoor seating in the front and back of the home. The kitchen is missing a flipping spatula, cookie sheet and frying pan but other than that everything was there. The area is beautiful and the locals are welcoming! Hope this helps!
Enjoyed the weekend...
We reached at midnight, and had the welcome to call at that hour of the night to get directions. The rooms were neatly kept and beautifully decorated with beach theme. The morning view of the Lake Ontario was beautiful. Kitchen is furnished with all basic amenities. We spent the weekend in this place, and we could not get enough of the view. The place was very comfortable.
My family really enjoyed this property. Every evening there was a beautiful sunset. It was a close proximity to our visit to Niagra Falls. The house was clean and comfortable. We were able to use our kayaks in the lake and enjoyed an outside fire in thw evenings. Beautiful memories!
Not for family with kids
Propery dosent have air conditioning... there is a very high vertical drop from the back yard to the beach.. i was afraid for my kids to fall when playing in back yard. No stairs to the beach. Very small and uncleaned beach. Owners expect you to clean even after paying cleaning fee. Dont recommend.
Please note that although we do have a vertical drop from our property down to the Lake's shoreline, there is sufficient foliage to protect the edge but still allows for the gorgeous views of the Lake. Young children would require parental supervision. We have over 2 acres of property here for kids (and adults) to play that is well away from the ledge. The swing set is set up in the front yard, nowhere near the edge. We absolutely have stairs that are built that lead to the pathway that goes right down to the shoreline. Our beach property is "controlled" by Mother Nature and ranges seasonally from 8 to 20 feet in depth. We have over 200 feet in length along the shoreline which most of our guests find to be quite adequate for swimming and simple rock collecting. We do have "gentle cleaning" rules that are posted at the property that include loading your dirty dishes in the dishwasher, (dishwashing soap is provided), wiping up spills from countertops, stove and floors (basic cleaning supplies provided), picking up trash and taking it outdoors at checkout. (garbage bags provided). Unfortunately, these quests chose not to do the simplest forms of picking up after themselves and their children, leaving us with a 4 hour cleaning job vs. the normal 2 hours. In addition to failing to pick up after themselves indoors (too numerous to list here) we had to rebuild the outdoor bon-fire pit as the children had dragged the stones into the yard, along with dumping pea-gravel into the lawn from under the deck. We advised the quests that we would be deducting $50 from the security deposit to cover our expense for the cleaning crew.
Fantastic Home with a Beautiful View
Thank you for a wonderful 3 night stay! My husband and I wanted our daughters to see Niagara Falls. We spent 2 full days sight seeing the Falls, which was and easy 10 minutes away. The beauty of Niagara was overshadowed some days from the hustle of the tourist, this was a great retreat to come "Home" to and just relax. The sunsets breathtaking overlooking Lake Ontario and peaceful evenings at the fire made for great memories for our family. We were very disappointed with attractions of the Aquarium and Discovery Center and wished we had spent more time on the lake. The time we stayed at the house created great memories playing games, enjoying local restaurants in Ransomville, ice cream in Wilson, fresh fruit at local fruit stand, and great little shops in Olcott Beach. Our daughters wanted to stay longer or come back next year to take in all that the Lake area has to offer with boating, swimming and fishing. House was clean and had all amenities a home should have and the 2 full baths came in handy with 3 teenage daughters. Thank you for sharing your home.
