Bay front home located at the center of all island activities. Within walking distance to all shops and restaurants. Short walk to the beach (2 blocks). Within walking distance to the bike trail and the lighthouse park. Private enclosed pool. The pool can be heated for an additional charge depending on the outside temperature. The pool is not heated in June, July or August. This home features 1 master bedroom with a king size bed with full bathroom and 1 queen size bed with a full bath on the 1st floor. Another 1 full bath on top floor. The large sleeping loft has 2 twin beds. There are two balconies that look out over the bay with beautiful sunset views. It is a 10 minute drive to historic Apalachicola, where you can shop and eat at the many restaurants. Property is kept clean and maintained by owner. Linens provided. Sorry No Smoking, No Pets

Beautiful view of the bay and the house is very comfortable.

My family and I had a wonderful vacation on Saint George Island. The house was very accommodating and beautifully decorated. I will say there are 4 flights of stairs in total but my family had no problems with it. The house is within walking distance of restaurants and shopping so its location is very convenient. Our favorite two restaurants were the Black Marlin (which is right next door) and The Beach Pitt. If you like to go to the beach but do not like a lot of people I recommend going to St George Island State Park. It's $6 per car but worth it to have the beach basically to yourself especially during the week. Overall we had a fantastic stay!

Great time and nice location for us

We had a really nice time on SGI and staying at Landshark. It was just myself and 3 kids ages 10-12, so it was great to be close by all the shops and restaurants and center of the island. The kids loved having the pool in the evening and morning. Everything was clean and there was plenty of space. I saw other reviews mention the music from the restaurant in the evenings, but we barely heard it and it doesn't go on super late, so it wasn't a problem for us. You can see some nice bayside sunsets from the back porches. We would stay here again.

decent place to stay

there were some general maintenance issues...the tray in the ice maker is broken, all of the lights in and around the pool do not work, the lights on the back of the house do not work, the smoke detectors were beeping and the first night it was difficult to sleep. i am a little worried that the internet connection is not secured but rather is an open connection...it didnt impact our stay but all of the customers at the restraunt/ bar next door have access to the internet so there is no telling what activity will be associated with that ip address. otherwise it was as advertised and we enjoyed our stay. the house is for sale and a realtor showed up and brought people through the house while we were there on the last day. it made both us and the prospective buyers somewhat uncomfortable. the prospective buyers did apologize to us and seemed to have more sense than the realtor.

Owner's Response: We sent maintenance over as soon as she called. The only thing they told us that did not work was the smoke detector. They said nothing about lights, pool lights, or ice maker and could have been taken care of while the maintenance man was there. The Internet has a password, if it is not secure then neither is all the other homes on the island. The house is for sale. We always call the renters and ask if they MIND if it is shown. We leave it up to the renters and if they say no, that is fine with us and it is not shown. We only allow one showing while the renter is there as to not interrupt their vacation but only if the renter agrees. The realtor was told on this occasion to show the house after the renters check out at 10. So if they showed up while the renters were there we have no control of that.

Stars, Stairs and more stairs

My biggest complaint about Landshark is that the 2 plus flights of stairs and then an additional flight if you use the loft was a bit much. Had we known about this we probably would not have rented this property. My other complaint was NO WI-FI. It states in the description this home has WI-FI but the only WI-FI we had access to was the house next door and that was a weak connection and day 2 we no longer were able to connect to that one. We informed the owner who then sent us the phone number to the phone company at which point I spent an hour of my vacation on hold and being transferred trying to get the problem fixed. Needless to say we never did have Wi-Fi the entire trip. The stairs were our next issue. Lets just say if you aren't in the best of health you probably don't want to rent this home The kitchen is on the top floor which means you have to carry groceries ,coolers, luggage all to the top floor 2 and !/2 steep flights of stairs. I have asthma and by the second trip up and down I had to take a rest.

There were other smaller issues-tiny swimming pool (good for cooling off) which held 3 small floats but no more, no can opener, ice machine didn't seem to work so we had to use the ice trays and the TV sound was horrible and no guide which made watching a task.

I know the owners are trying to sell this property but we paid a lot of money to rent this place and the small things added up. I would never rent one of these stick homes again unless it had an elevator.

Bottom line we didn't feel like the owners really cared that we were having issues. I mean who has the renter do all the leg work on vacation..Literally

Owner's Response: WE have had WI-FI for 6 years with no issues and no complaints from other renters. It states in the guidelines that if there are issues, the renter has to call, the cable company or phone company so that they can trouble shoot any issues before sending someone out. I stayed on the phone longer that the renter did trying to get the WI Fi fixed. I explained to her that it was HER choice to call them, if not I would be glad to take care of it. She did not have to call them. The phone company sent someone over to fix the issue and they assured me it was fixed. Floats for the pool are not provided. They are left by other guests. The guide to the TV is on the TV, also several TV guides have been left through out the home. All TV's were replaced 1 month ago. The sound on the living room TV will be checked. I never asked her to do any leg work at all, the renter chose to do it herself. The stairs are great exercise! We even allowed the renter to come in 3 hours early so that she would not have to leave all of her "groceries" in the car.

Property is a gem in a perfect location for sunset views and a short walk to the beach.

The property was as expected with two bedrooms on the first floor and the living areas on the second floor with a fantastic view of the bay. The sleeping loft was an bonus where the kids liked taking their daily naps (3 year olds). The property was clean with all of that we needed for our week long stay. After a couple of days we decided to heat the pool and our stay was perfect. The pool was the perfect size for us. The location of the property was a perfect distance to the beach. A very short walk to the beach, playground and local restaurants. The pizza joint was fantastic, word of caution don't eat outside unless you want to fight off the sea gulls.

My only suggestion to the owners would be to upgrade the bed linens a little.

Overall we had a fantastic time and will consider this home for our next trip to St. George.

Best place to eat on the island is BJ's Pizza, Blue Parrot and Eddie Teach's Raw Bar.
