About Erica K.

An entrepreneur by nature, I have enjoyed the freedom and flexibility that a self directed path can provide. I have loved to travel and annually embark upon both a beach vacation and an exotic destination in a far away continent - you will find exotic mementos from my travels adorn Villa Blanca and inspire the eclectic sampling of the world within. Growing up in Tucson in this very property, I wanted to name my special bungalow to honor my connection to my mother, my family and the heritage of the house, hence the name Villa Blanca which means white house - where my friends said I lived as a kid. While home in Tucson, I love to landscape, You will see me working on my properties tending to the mesquite trees, Peruvian apple cactus a native willow or assisting guests at Villa Blanca Pajaro and other homes. I have always enjoyed cooking - entertaining friends and family and hosting many social events, and look forward to hosting you during your stay in Tucson!

Erica K. purchased this bungalow in 2010

Why Erica K. chose Sam Hughes

My parents were renting the carriage house in the 1960's while attending the University of Arizona. Reading an ad in the paper the original owners of Villa Blanca Pajaro - had listed it for sale - it turned out to be my parents landlords - who enjoyed the young couple so - and sold it to my parents over another buyer. With the assistance of my Grandmother for a down payment, My mother and father moved to the front house and raised us girls - in 2010 Villa Blanca Pajaro passed through the generations from my grandmother, mother and sister to my self - for me to share with you as Villa Blanca Pajaro.

What makes this bungalow unique

I love Villa Blanca Pajaro with all of my heart - it is a beautiful home full of warmth and truly does hold every memory in life - Christmas trees, Easter bunnies, Thanksgiving Dinners, watching sesame street while laying on the living room floor, cartwheels in the front yard - giggling with friends - walking to school - having breakfast at Rincon market, bicycling to the UofA. Now it's your turn to make some memories and experience the warmth and love of a family home known as Villa Blanca Pajaro.

Could not imagine staying at a better VRBO!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at quite a few VRBO's and this one, by far, ranked the highest. We walked inside to a home that looked to have been decorated by an interior designer - serious attention to detail; clean beyond clean, combined with all the comforts of home. My husband and I were in town for my stepdaughter's graduation from UofA. The home was a nice cool respite from the heat outdoors, yet there were several comfortable places to sit on the patio outside in the shade even on a 100+ degree afternoon/evening. We were within walking distance of the university and a quick drive (or walk) to many great restaurants. Did I mention how spotless this place was? Too often when we travel the bed or pillows aren't very comfortable. I can honestly say this bed and the pillows were perfect. There was a sweet note left for us, along with a bottle of wine and chocolate bars. I can tell that Erica (the owner) has spared no effort to make sure her guests are comfortable and want to return again and again. Thank you, Erica! We will be back!

Everything You Need

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at Villa Blanca Pajaro and the adjoining Mariposa several times. I make frequent trips to Tucson and always check to see if one of them is available. Understandably, they often aren’t so I have some basis for comparison. The units are beautifully decorated. There is nothing cheap or off-the-rack. The decor is thoughtful and pleasing. The king size bed is very comfortable and all the linens are fresh and high quality. The location is wonderful - very near the university, downtown and fourth avenue and easy to get around. Erica also sends a very comprehensive list of restaurants and things to do. Trust me: take her advice. She knows what she’s talking about. (Although not on her list but right up the street is Tumerico. Do not let the vegetarian thing put you off.)

The kitchen has everything you need in great quantity and excellent quality. There is not a dishwasher so you clean up ‘old school’ but it just isn’t a big deal.

The Sam Hughes area is a favorite of mine. We really enjoy just walking around the neighborhood and seeing what people have done with their homes.

Erica and her assistant, Kerrie, make checking in and out a breeze.

We always look forward to returning.

Lovely home in great location

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful and comfortable accommodations in a perfect location. Quiet area with nice courtyard for outside entertaining. Bed is very comfortable. Kitchen has great appliances and all the utensils and cookware you could possibly need. No dishwasher (but not a problem). Two TVs work great. For older travelers, be aware there is no grab bar in the shower/tub. Just use extra caution to avoid a fall. Erica is a warm and welcoming host. Highly recommend.

Wonderful get away with all the frills.

  • 5 of 5

This is our very favorite place to stay in Tucson. The furnishings are lovely and comfortable. The yard is great to lounge in or eat a meal in. The location is close to the U of A with easy accessibility to almost everywhere in Tucson. Erica, the owner, is readily available if you need anything or have any questions. Its a very homey place at a really reasonable price. We will return again next February. Loved it!!

Charming and Immaculately Clean

  • 5 of 5

Charming, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean! We stayed here for a week over Christmas 2017; myself, my husband and our 5-year old grandson. It was our first vacation home experience, and Erica definitely set the bar high! The kitchen was stocked with every tool and appliance we could ever need, bathroom had supplies and nice towels. Beds were comfortable with nice sheets. A desert-landscaped back yard with covered patio was perfect for my grandson to play in. No toys, but many interesting and quirky books about Tucson and Arizona in general.

Thank you, Erica, for a wonderful stay! We highly recommend your rental.
