This house is our baby! We named it quite appropriately 'An Artist's View' because of the spirit that awakens in you as you stay here. We built this house near Galveston to serve the concepts of luxury, comfort and community. Life pulls us in so many ways, how often do we get to play with, speak to and enjoy our families. We have spent many fabulous vacations with family, friends and family and friends. Watching the waves roll in and out sets our timing to a slower pace and we have found great peace, solitude and togetherness on our beautiful beach. We found Treasure Isle through renting vacation homes for Thanksgiving break. We were sold and hope you find peace and your perfect vacation in our home, 'An Artist's View'.
Walter P Wallace & Amanda E Wallace purchased this house in 2007
Our family had been vacationing in Treasure Isle for 7 years before we came across the opportunity to build our beach house 'An Artist's View'.
We enjoy golf at Galveston Country Club and can arrange access for our renters. Our favorite time is early morning when we walk onto the beach before sunrise. Cast your pole in the ocean and sit down waiting to see what happens first...the sunrise or getting a hit from a red fish or trout.
Sorry about this late thank you but I am sure you understand no vacation goes unpunished at work.
Kay and I wanted to take a minute to tell you how much we and our family enjoyed your house. We have rented houses on the beach in Galveston six or seven years now and we have always had a great time but this time everyone was in agreement your house made it extra special. The big porch allowed us to all congregate in the evenings and just sit and talk and laugh. The big kitchen with the family sized dinning table allowed us to share several meals both preparing and eating.
Of course everyone enjoyed the beach and after the kids understood the importance of the dunes they took great pride in pointing out to offenders that they should not walk thru them.
From my perspective I was impressed they the care you obviously give your house. Beyond the little thing I am sure cannot be avoided with a rental house on the beach everything was in great shape the windows were clean and clear, the siding was fresh and well kept.
We did have one question, what are the yellow strips on the porch post all about. We had great fun speculating in the evening but now that we are home we still wonder.
Thanks again for a great week, as Kay and I age and our kids and grandchildren get older these memories will be precious and our week at your house will be right there with the best.
We had a total of 15-18 people there during our week stay. Because of the role away beds and extra cots there was plenty of comfortable places for everyone to sleep. The location of the home is brilliant because there is no neighbors and your view is unobstructed. Everything you needed was in the home except what they tell you to bring. Your own beach towels, paper towels, zip locks, paper products ect. Our favorite place to sit was the deck and because of the breeze it was lovely in the morning and evening. It was the nicest house in our section for sure and we liked how we were at the end. Less crowded. The Wallaces were wonderful to deal with. So was Cindy who handles things on sight. The only thing I would caution on is taking your stuff back to the house at night because we did "lose" 5 of our beach chairs between 2 nights. They were the nice ones from Costco. Oh well live and learn they must have really needed them to come all the way down to the end to find those chairs. We had an amazing time. Five stars for sure. Enjoy!
We stayed with an extended family of 10. The house is large and offers enough space for everyone. It has a huge kitchen that is well stocked with anything you will need. Our whole group could sit around the 10 seat table. There's even a high chair for the little one. It is right at the beach so you can go back and forth with ease. The teenagers loved the TV room / pool table area. Lots of books if you need something to read. The beach is nice and it is not very crowded. Great parking area underneath with room to grill and play bean bags. Be prepared for some mosquitoes. Not the owners fault. It is a long way to the nearest shopping, so stop and get what you need. You will not want to leave once you get there!! This is a great house!!
The property is Beautiful! Right on the beach, its a few miles down before you see another house. There was plenty of familys out during our stay but Not crowded at all!! it was perfect!
The rooms were more than comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked with everyday items that one would need/use.
There were alot of mosquitos during our stay so bring citrenella candles and bug spray!
We will be back we fell in love with the house and location. Its the perfect kind of quiet and relaxing.
We have rental several vacation homes in the area and An Artist's View is by far the best. It was everything that was advertised and more. It was clean, well-kept, spacious, and very accommodating. The living room, kitchen, and dining area allowed for a large gathering without being crowded. The bedrooms were good size with comfortable beds and large bathrooms. The house was steps away from the beach which is very hard to come by since Hurricane Ike. I would highly recommend this house to anyone; especially someone planning an event with 10 or more people.
We've been renting Texas beach properties for a week or two each year for many years and this house has become our favorite on the upper Texas coast, by far. Nicely maintained and always clean, spacious open layout and well designed for quality family time, fantastic views. Large well appointed kitchen, comfy quarters and furniture, big two level deck with both early morning sun and sunsets. Beach is right out the front door. Best of all for me, the fishing is always productive. Caught bull redfish, bull black drum, loads of whiting, and some flounder on this January stay. Caught slot redfish, speckled trout, and a variety of other fish on our last summer stay. I always catch fish on this part of the beach, keeps me coming back to the area and the awesome house keeps me coming back to this property. It has the great tidal movement of baitfish that San Luis Pass provides but is past the turn south and on well protected beachfront that provides safe wade fishing for me and safe swimming for the kids. Best combination of location and house for us and the owners are honest, gracious, and responsive. Already planning our next rental.
My husband and I stayed the week of Christmas through New Years with our daughter, SIL and 2 of our grandkids. This is the first time I have ever had an entire week with the kids and we picked the perfect house for that. The kitchen is huge and well equipped. It has a nice sized pantry for all of our food. A bar sink with storage underneath came in very handy and the kids sat there most of the time. The beds are comfortable. There was so much space for us to spread out. It was great having the tv in the loft so my famly could watch football while others stayed downstairs and read or just watched the water. I can't even begin to tell you about the view. You simply have to see it yourself. From the corner of the deck, you can see both the Gulf and the bay. Amazing! We spent one afternoon just sitting on the deck, watching the water and enjoying the warm sun. The first night, we had "astronomical high tides" (yes, that was the weather warning). The two houses across the street had waves breaking on the concrete pads underneath the house and even the road flooded but we stayed completely dry. There is a nice big open area right in front of the house where we built a bonfire one day. We caught fish from that beach. The shelling was fabulous! The only thing that we missed was the upstairs bedroom didn't have a dresser. My husband used the shelves in the closet but I lived out of my suitcase that week. Absolutely not a big deal compared to the other features of the house and the area.
Our home is on a very remote beach. Both decks are over the sand dunes looking out over the surf. The beach is quiet and remote and allows for walks on uninterrupted sand for miles. From our decks you can view the Bay behind us as well as the crashing surf in front. There are 88 acres of unspoiled wetlands between your ocean view and Bay view. Pelicans and other birds fly directly by the house on their way to their feeding areas. We hope you enjoy the natural environment that surrounds our home!
