Our home is located on the spectacular Cabot Trail with a glorious view of the ocean. Located just across the street from the ocean, barely a stones throw away, you can smell the salt water and feel the ocean breeze on your face as you sip your morning coffee while watching the lobster boats haul their traps just off shore. The views are particularly striking at sunset when the light shimmers gold on the water. Look behind you and all you see are miles and miles of mountains. Our home-town truly is a magical place.
Our house is almost a century old, newly renovated, it has three bedrooms and a full bath upstairs, a large kitchen, dining room and living room on the first floor, with a glorious ocean view, as well as a full laundry room and mud room (yet to be renovated). Decks on both front (ocean view) and back of the house (mountains and afternoon shade). It is also equipped with appliances, including washer and dryer, flat screen TV, and all the necessities of home. We are just a short walk to town (5 minutes), Le Portage golf course is practically in our back yard, and Cape Breton Highlands National Park is a 5 minute drive.
I am a Cape Breton girl at heart who moved to Halifax for a new career. I am passionate about social justice and children’s rights. I enjoy meeting new people, visiting new places and constantly learning from others. Life is a journey to be enjoyed to the fullest.
I love to travel and hope to see many new places in the years to come. I enjoy books of all kinds, walking/hiking, yoga, and meditation, healthy eating, and staying active!
My favorite “go to” place is near the ocean, I have made all my best life decisions to the sound of the waves. I love the beach! I am friendly, but very quiet and easy going. I enjoy silence and alone time and I’m a great listener. My family is my priority. I have four amazing children and two equally amazing grandchildren.
I believe there are two primary choices in life; to accept things as they are, or accept the responsibility for changing them.

This property has been in our family for many years. As I've mentioned, it is where I have raised my children before moving to Halifax for a career. The house has great sentimental value to me and remains close to my heart.
The house is centrally located and a short walk to the ocean, town, golf and many other amenities. The ocean views from the room/deck on the front of the house are spectacular, while the afternoon shade and view of the mountains on the back deck sooth the weary soul. The property brings me a sense of peace that I don't find in the city.
Loved this spot. Right on the edge of town, but close enough that zipping in was easy! House has all that you need, and is laid out really well. Great spot!
A clean two story house with nice deck at front and back. situated closely to everything in town. Three bedrooms, full linen and towels. Laundry facilities. Great recommendation by owner regarding places to eat. In particular Seafood Stop in town and Rustic Anchor in Pleasant Bay.
Great well maintained and updated house in Cheticamp with full appliances, 1.5 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms and large kitchen and living spaces with tons of parking room and located right on the Cabot Trail. Easy to communicate with hostess and good value for spend and would stay again. Lots of towels left for us and the kitchen is well equipped with lots of working space. Great views across the trail out over the ocean with lovely sunset view opportunities. Be prepared for some road noise (night is quiet but traffic does start a bit early) and the Windows could use some better light blocking.
Overall great property and I recommend it!
This is a charming home with any equipment I needed. It is virtually around the corner from the Cape Breton Highlands National Park and therefor a brillant base to explore one of the most impressive parts of CB. It's located on the outskirts of Cheticamp so it's quiet but also just minutes from any infrastructure you need. In my week I had beautifull sunsets any evening which made my days complete.
I enjoyed my stay very much!
|Our property is located in the quaint acadian fishing village of Cheticamp and only a short drive to the world renowned Margaree River on one side, and Cape Breton Highlands National Park and the village of Pleasant Bay on the other. Travel and Leisure magazine named Cape Breton the third best island to visit in the world. The island culture commingles Scottish, Acadian, Irish, African, and native Mi’kmaq influences and is fueled by Celtic style music. Alexander Graham Bell said it best, “I have traveled the globe. I have seen the Canadian and American Rockies, the Andes and the Alps and the highlands of Scotland, but for simple beauty, Cape Breton out-rivals them all.”
