Had a great stay in austin with a group of guys. This house was perfect for us, plenty of space and within walking distance of dozens of bars and restaurants. Would stay here again for sure.

Great location...but after that...

  • 3 of 5

The physical location is awesome; could hardly be more central to nearly all of Austin a short visitor would need. The unit is on the first floor at ground level so people walking by can be both seen and heard. The windows are so thin you can actually hear full conversations as people walk by! The place is clean, except for the silverfish we found in the dressers (uck!) and the mold on the shower head (double uck!). To call the entire place "sparely decorated" is a compliment. But, all of the appliances worked, the a/c was functioning and the bed in the room we used was ok (not the MBR). Our traveling companions stayed in that room and said the bed wasn't great. Bottom line: rent for the location, put on your blinders for much of the rest like no wash cloths for use in the bath, sketchy towels and the trash can with ill-fitting bag causing most everything to miss the mark. We're also a bit put off by the required review (this is the first time I've encountered that and have used VRBO multiple times on multiple continents).

Owner's Response: Hi JD, I am glad you thought the location was awesome but I am sorry for the issues you faced. I wish you had contacted my on-site property manager who lives literally across the courtyard from this unit. For anyone concerned we have cleaned the shower head, replaced the towels (BTW the maids forgot the wash cloths in the dryer but we if you had called we would have been able to tell you this.) Finally, although the place is sprayed by a professional exterminator each month had him come in again. I hope you will give us a chance again next time you’re in Austin I think you will be impressed with the improvements. Thank you for staying with us and your feedback.

No hot water for entire stay

  • 2 of 5

The property size, layout, etc was fine and the location was ideal, but we did not have hot water for our entire stay. An attempt was made to fix the situation but only resulted in the water being a cool lukewarm instead of frigid.

Owner's Response: Hi, I apologize that the water heater malfunctioned during your stay. Normally we have things like this fixed on the same day but since you were staying over Thanksgiving it was a little difficult. For anyone reading this review, it was simply a blown element it is fixed now and there is plenty of hot water. Please see the rest of my reviews for this and other properties. Please inquire with any questions or concerns. Thanks.

Functional - good value for the amount of rooms

  • 3 of 5

The unit served our purpose - to all stay together while attending a conference. A little noisy - especially the trash trucks at 4am both mornings-

Close to Convention

  • 4 of 5

Visited Austin for a Tech conference that was hosted at the Convention Center. Upon arriving to the apartment building, I had trouble with gaining access to the building due to being sent the wrong access code. I was finally able to get in contact with the owner's assistance for the correct code. The apartment was sufficient enough for our stay but was disappointed in the lack of strong wifi connection. The apartment was clean but a little outdated. Overall, the stay was fine for our stay.
