The Three bedroom, three bath house with central air and WiFi, sleeps 6. The master suite has a queen size bed, sitting/dressing room, and full bath. The first floor has a living room, dining room, kitchen, breakfast room and half bath. There is a washer and dryer in the basement. The front and side of the house has a wraparound screened porch to enjoy the sea air.
The listing was very accurate description of the property. The location was perfect for walking most places, especially to the cove and nature walk along the Marginal Way.
The amenities are most sufficient ; did not need anything else.
neighbors were friendly and Karen was most pleasant and we enjoyed having her greet us on our arrival.
We would not hesitate to recommend the house . This was our first vacation in Maine, so we thought it was very special.
Four adults. Three kids under the age of five. One dog. We all had a great time at this house and made memories that will last a lifetime. We loved the proximity to town, the beach and Perkins Cove. The kids loved running around and playing on the screened in porch, and we didn't have to worry too much about them.
It was a fantastic week all together. The only change we might request is that the double bed in the second bedroom be upgraded. It wasn't comfortable and left one couple feeling a bit shortchanged. Other than that, we would definitely return. Great hosts! Karen was wonderful in getting us all set up, and even left treats for our pup. THANK YOU!
I miss the porch!
Rental was as promised and wonderfully convenient. Karen met us at the door and gave us the tour (and a lovely gift basket.). Everything was wonderful. The downstairs and upstairs bathrooms were very convenient. The two-couched living room was fantastic for family get-together a at the end of the day. Within walking distance of the main drag and the Marginal Way - the very short walk to Perkins Cove alone saved us $25.00 in parking!
The only reason we would not rent again is because we Chang cities every year!
We enjoyed our stay here. The major selling point for us happened to be it's location off of Shore Road, which we consider to be the heart of all the fun happenings in Ogunquit and also because we were allowed to bring our dog with us. There's hundreds of rentals in Ogunquit but once you check off 'pet friendly' your options really shrink up. We began our search for a rental late last year and unless we missed a property, this might be the only pet friendly rental off of Shore. Road. The owner was very kind and gave our chocolate lab a 'doggy bag' upon arrival. As you can see by the pictures, the decor is a bit antiquated but it served our family well and the wrap around porch was something we all took advantage of during our stay. We would definitely consider coming back!
The location of the house is amazing and we enjoyed walking to the beach.
However, the house was not clean at all. There was a huge smell of moisture which was very distubing. I am not allergic but I was feeling very uncomfortable throughout our stay. The house had a lot of dust and was not well maintained.
Also, the bed sheets and the towels were full of pet hair and dirty and we did not have enough towels for everybody (7 people).
What a great vacation home and wonderful location. I can't begin to explain how much fun we had staying so close to Perkins Cove, the Marginal Way and he Center of Ogunquit. The big bonus for me was the fact that our wonderful Chocolate Lab Cooper was allowed to stay and Karen the owner even gave Cooper a welcome goodie bag. We lived on the Porch and it was the relaxing vacation we all needed. Thanks again.
Ogunquit,'beautiful place by the sea' offers a mile long stretch of soft, sandy beach, the marginal way footpath that allows you to stroll along the rocky coast from Perkins Cove to the Village, a diversity of restaurants from quick take-out to five star dining, and museums and art galleries. The Ogunquit Playhouse presents musical theater throughout the summer months featuring well known actors. Perkins Cove has restaurants, shops, and art galleries, as well as boat tours. You can sail to York or Wells on sightseeing boats, or take a tour with a lobster fisherman. There is a deep sea fishing trip as well.
There is a trolley that will take you from Perkins Cove to the beach, the playhouse, the village, and up to the Wells line so a car is not all that necessary. If you care to drive, York Beach is just down the shore road where you can get Goldenrod saltwater taffy and entertain the kids at the York Wild Kingdom. Kennebunkport is just north, past Wells, with shops and restaurants, and former President Bush's summer home.
At the beach you can choose enjoying the surf and swimming in the river. The sand is white and fine although a bit sparce at high tide. There are places to get snacks and shops for extra sunscreen.
