My husband and I spent a wonderful week at this lovely cottage. Located directly across the street from the town beach. The home was as described on the website and provided everything that one could need for a week at the lake. In addition the yard was large and fenced in perfect for the safety of our dog. The kitchen has modern appliances and plenty of dishes for a family. Plenty of nice fluffy towels were also supplied. The homeowner supplied excellent information about the area and was respective to any concerns. Lake Warmuag is perfect place to enjoy peace and quite about 2.5 hrs from the city. We enjoyed biking around the lake and exploring the surrounding towns of New Preston, Kent, and Litchfield.
Our family of five enjoyed our stay at this quaint rental across from the Washington town beach at Lake Waramaug. The location can't be beat especially for a family with younger children. We enjoyed easy access to the friendly town beach and being able to go back and forth between the house and beach so easily. The house was bright, comfortable and charming and exactly what we had hoped for. Proximity to the quintessential tiny New England village of New Preston is convenient. Ben was very helpful. The house had everything we needed, including a great updated kitchen. One request would be to provide beach chairs.
If you want to experience lake living in one of the most beautiful parts of Connecticut and New England, this house is the place to choose!
Lovely decor in a renovated cottage, good individual ac in the bedrooms upstairs, porch outside is lovely for sitting and lake viewing and grabbing an ice cream from the ice cream truck that stops twice a day. Hopkins inn a short distance away serves delectable breakfasts too. Bring food, the nearest market is a few miles away. The road noise outside(on the porch) is a factor: someone might need earplugs., but inside the cottage its not too loud. The owners were easy to work with and responsive to suggestions. The pull out is not a comfortable mattress but can add sleeping space. Lots of good here(incl. washer and dryer)& kitchen has anything you need to make meals, and the lake setting is so attractive. We enjoyed our family visit there.
We booked this house for a long weekend because we wanted to get away from NY's craziness. The property was clean and beautifully decorated, just wish the heater was a little stronger (we did go on a very cold weekend, so it might not be a problem for others).
Ben, the owner, was very helpful and accessible all the time.
Recommended for anyone who wants to relax and enjoy a cute small town!
We booked this house because it was near Lime Rock track where my husband was racing Labor Day weekend but discovered there was much more to do in the area. The info packet the owner had put together gave us lots of suggestions for hikes, restaurants and activities. Although the property is right across the street from the public beach, we were so busy we never had time to swimming. The house was clean and artfully decorated and the views of the lake are lovely.
We were the first to stay at this property. We went for a long weekend - myself, husband, 2 year old, and another couple with their 2 year old. We had a great time! The house itself is cozy, very nicely renovated and decorated. You feel right at home. The location is perfect if you're with kids- nice back yard accessible from the kitchen, across the street from a little beach on a lake. Amazing for toddlers especially! And lots of cute towns and things to see nearby (with or without kids). The owners were very nice and extremely responsive. We highly recommend it!
